Only 10½ minutes in and Bran has already done more than he did on the real show. I honestly can't fathom how the writers could possibly do such a shitty job as they did.

I go for an evening walk, a half hour or so, each day. I planned to listen to this over 4 evenings. Didn’t happen. Just walked around my town for 2 hours just listening to what should have been the ending to the greatest TV show ever to grace the screen. Thank you for this, though my feet are killing me.

Your version is way better than what we had previously seen

I’ve read lots of articles justifying the canon ending to this show, and that Arya’s killing the night king was hinted, that subverting fans expectations was better and that the tragic ending was in keeping with game of thrones. But after 7 seasons of watching the honorable characters blindsided, killed, raped, tortured, and have their entire worlds ripped apart to what felt like no end, we needed to see them succeed. We needed a glimmer of hope, resolution to know that the strife they’d been cast into had not been completely in vain. The story doesn’t have to be perfect, everyone doesn’t have to survive, but there should be pay offs to everything we’ve sat through. The fact that this retelling of season 8 fulfills all of those requirements, makes me irritated because this random person on the Internet was able to produce a better ending than the writers of the story. This is the ending I accept. Now if someone could rewrite the ending of Mockingjay...

Am I the only one who have always loved the fact that Gendry fights with a warhammer!? It's kind of poetic. Especially since he fights alongside the son of Rheagar and Lyanna. Knowing the history of Robert, Rheagar and Lyanna this is just perfectly done.

That Jaime would eventually kill Cercei is foreshadowed so many times in the books it's so weird when it never happened in the show. Your ending is so much better. Can't wait to read how George RR Martin actually ends it. I have a feeling some things you've mentioned here will actually ring true!

This ending is AMAZING. The only thing I dislike is Tormund dying, I wanted him and Brienne of Tarth to have giant babies like he said he wanted to. This absolutely should have been how the show ended though. 1000000x better than what they put out. This is how the show should have ended! Brilliant plot lines, with much visual potential. I always expected the show would end with each kingdom returning to self-rule, and was disappointed when it did not. A much better ending for Cersei. Jamie did not deserve to have to die with her. This ending makes so much more sense for Bran. He was useless during season 8 of the show, and the idea of suddenly making him ruler of the Seven Kingdoms was ludicrous. Really, really great ending. So much better than what D&D gave us. Hope you're able to find a job to do this professionally. Hope GRRM uses some of these ideas in the ending of the books.

I used to look forward to these videos every day, theorizing EVERYTHING. Years of speculation and excitement for season 8, just to be left devastated with horrible writing. I cringe just even thinking about Thrones now which is so sad considering it was one of my favorite things ever.

This is the first time I have watched anything concerning GOT since seeing season 8, which for me was an absolute insult to every viewer who loved the once fabulous series. I always watched you videos because they were the best and now your rewrite of season 8 would have been a much more plausible and appropriate ending... many more questions were answered in your version and I was very happy that you had both Drogon and Rhaegal survive and also reintroduced the wolves and made it clear how important they were to the story. This was amazing. I can't believe i really sat here and listened 2 hours to you play this out. This was amazing. Completely amazing. It never felt like I want watching a movie. I could actually envision the entire 2 hour dialogue as if it was a movie...

It was just so bizarre that the show seemed to say in the last season “you know what made the show great and everyone loved? The lack of plot armour, the realism, the attention to detail, not putting style over substance, etc….let’s do the exact opposite now.”

There s an end credits scene with Bronn, relaxing with the lannister brothers, in his new castle, overlooking a beautiful meadow. And Tyrion finally says the punchline to his jackass joke.

For many years when I was young, I would rewrite movies that I felt had missed the mark. The in college, my best friend and I did the same. We called them Plug-ins, because we would "plug-in " to different stories. This is the most awesome plug-in ever!

Years later and I'm still salty about how it ended. This would've been a much better, more engaging ending, and would've made more sense. I probably wouldn't have done it exactly the same, but I absolutely would've watched and loved this version. And Jaime's ending is just perfect. He did so much work and deserved so much better. Thanks for treating him well in your version.

I like how you let the Night King win “Round 1” at Winterfell, punishing the humans for their horrendous battle tactics and giving a better payoff to the 7 prior seasons spent building up the army of the dead, not treating them as something that can be dealt with in only a single episode.

My only fix to this video would be make everything still night since the Night King showed up, to make it the long night. And show snow fall in regions like King's Landing and even Dorne.

It’s disgusting what they did to this show. It bugs me so much.

This is incredible, man. So many things that connect back to tiny scenes that were a bigger deal in the books. Cersei always thinking Jamie would strangle her, Arya's time as a faceless man, Bran's warging ablities being used on the dragon which we all ALWAYS wanted to see, the white walkers laying waste to the north for episodes and then the double battle, the fulfillment of the prince that was promised and azor ahai, R'hllor and the Melisandre sacrifice and her wanting the Tarly baby, Dany having twins with Jon is something I hadn't even thought of and them being split in their appearance was so perfect. I don't feel the books going in a direction like the show AT ALL. I feel in my soul that all of these little things GRRM has peppered through the series all these years will all pay off like only he can do. I truly feel like the world NEEDS him to finish this story because I would argue with anyone that it is the greatest story ever written. I'll never forget how the show ended, especially with House of the Dragon having just premiered and being absolutely incredible, but the beats and overview of this story are something I'll hold in my heart until the books finally finish and this epic is finally delivered to us all. Thanks so much for having the ability and dedication as a fan to create this. Now get the hell off of RU-vid and start selling some damn screen plays so you can write for the new show(s)!
