How Gen Z is Rebelling Against Authority Today w/ Isabel Brown 

What an eloquent young lady. Tradition all the way.

I've heard this before, but I'll believe it when I see it.

My eldest son is 22. He's nearly finished a well paying Engineering apprenticeship and has little interest in living in overpriced cities. He recently proposed to his girlfriend after asking her father for her hand and he wants to start having children before he's 25. He works out, doesn't over indulge in drink, doesn't do drugs and enjoys visiting historical rural sites in our country. He's a huge rebel by the standards of this age. They have seen what the two generations before them have turned out like and clearly want no part in this mess.

This was so refreshing to hear.

I rebel by being ultra conservative, telling people to repent and follow Jesus, and telling people to go get married and have 12 kids !!! 😀

Very awesome. Reminds me of my conversations with my daughter who is gen z and I am a conservative catholic to see her relating and passion to mirror mine.

I just hope that we have enough hindsight now, especially with the advent of the internet in this age of information, to recognize the pendulum swing and don't allow it to swing so aggressively to the other extreme. Reactionary movements never yield good results. We need to apply a nuanced understanding to life and not automatically put things in categories on how to think about them just because they may slightly resemble something else that may be good or bad.

My church is packed with fellow gen z. We're so sick of our soceity and all we want now is faith, family, and friendship

Yeah I think this return to tradition is definitely there. As a lot of other comments have said, it's certainly not the majority of gen-z. However, it's a significant enough of a minority that it's making a splash. As Matt said, I think the popularity of Jordan Peterson shows that a significant part of gen-z is on the right path.

I take a cautious view of patriotism in religious spaces, although I would generally avoid it. On the other hand, I don't hate it. One's own nation deserves its own kind of reverence, and despising the mention of displays of love of country in our churches is the wrong way to correct course if nation seems treated better than God. The same applies with ethnic identities as well. Again, they deserve their own kind of reverence. The reason is because these things benefit when we serve God well, but to serve God in any capacity, we should at least leave to God the very things that have been set aside for Him, namely the holy places: our churches and our hearts. Having this, we are more free to do good with the things our nations afford us.

There's definitely young conservatism where I live, but there's also a lot more conservatism in general.

I am 67. Rebelled about 7 years ago. Went ultra ancient. Went Byzantine Rites in Communion. Over 1000years old before Trent! Go East, young people!
