Why arent they articulated because they dont practice at home with their children or husband, if you think this language is important in various aspects u must practice at home then u wont find any difficult, any interviewer like u ask numerous question one should immediately understand reply accordingly. Through ur knowledge during this period u ve discovered and understand how one should jump over this hurdle as a british colonized country.
Look guys, last two ladies given little bit of good interview. Rest of them weren’t success. If you want do it more successful way, speak to some people who finishing offices and also speak some students. Let me give some advice. I am Sri Lankan origin but brought up in England. Also I am secondary school teacher in England. Sri Lanka is Former British colony and Sri Lanka has same education system. England has GCSE OL and AL, Sri Lanka also has same curriculum. I am not Sri Lanka citizen but I love my country and follow much about education. As I know, 2002 start English medium again in national schools in St Lanka, but it’s optional, most of the school had both medium. In addition, since monitory, English is subject and it’s mandatory. Even AL, they are required to study English as mandatory subject and it’s equal to ILTS. There is no truth about people who lives in city, they can speak English. Even rural kids can speak perfect English. My parents from near Ella, and my relatives kids studying government schools in Badulla and they have perfect English. Please dont compare with Indian and Sri Lanka has perfect education but better accent. As last lady explained, it’s base on singhala native speaks. Sri Lankan always speaks with ‘R’ silent. Not Bud or Rrr 😂😂😂 I always watching you guys episode. I like your interviews with foreigners. God luck !!
In this video titled "Band 9.0 IELTS Practice Speaking Exam (mock test) - with feedback - Saskia (2) from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰" gives an example of how a Sri Lankan who goes by Saskia uses English to effectively communicate, which is lacking with those that speak to Balnur (who is interviewing these people in her video "How Good Are Srilankans At English? | Street Interview" on this @justbefreee RU-vid channel) . "Band 9.0 IELTS Practice Speaking Exam (mock test) - with feedback - Saskia (2) from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰" is an example of how Sri Lankans can improve to be being fluent in English (Click link to check the video) =>
This is a good example (Refer the link mentioned in this comment ) of the state of the country where a Sri Lankan Member of Parliament in the current government frets nervously sweating unable to comprehend what this reporter is asking him in English. Unfortunately this is an example that although English language is taught daily in the School Curriculum in schools in Sri Lanka every week, even such MPs don't take the trouble to learn English and make an attempt to be fluent at using English to communicate accordingly. The reporter realizes and asks the Minister in the government the same question in Sinhala and then he answers the question. Nobody in these interviews could speak English except for one guy and yet some here claim Sri Lankans can speak English 🤦🏽♂️ The lack of English skills even amongst the educated populous is embarrassing. Watch the indian interviews by the same interviewers there is a stark difference in fluency.
