I appreciate your effort to recommending Jay Chou's songs. I like the way you analysed the song in different aspect. the production in this song is crazy.
One of his best songs in my opinion. Omg that was me that you quoted from the comments. (Derek L). Thank you! I really appreciate your honest review and constructive criticism. It shows that you're genuine and that you care about the music.
I have been studying and living in the UK for 3 years. My dream since childhood is to be a singer. About one or two years ago, I happened to see the video of you commenting with 柯桑德. Every time you made comments, you make sure you do your best to analyzed each song and gave your own unique opinions. Later, I saw that you gradually fell in love with Chinese culture and started your own channel, which was even popular in Chinese social networking. Thank you for accompanying me with your videos these years, which makes my study abroad life less lonely. I wish you more success in the future , and I will continue to support you, 谢谢你Joe!
it's really been a long time since the last time he put so much thoughts in the structure of a song, with so many small subsections featuring different singing styles. Also, the arrangement in this one is also top-notch. Really a good one overall but somehow overlooked by many.
I love listening to music that tells an inspirative story! I guess that's why I like a lot of Jay Chou's songs, in which he chooses unique themes, invite amazing lyric writers to help the melody express their full meanings. Thank you for recommending his works!
Wow... I am amazed with your detailed analysis! Yes... Jay Chou is my No.1 musician (not singer)! I love his fusion of classical and modern music and his experiment with different instruments in his compositions. I have been following him since his debut in 2000. Have you reviewed his Rice Field 稻香?
Thank you Joe for organizing this lottery, Jay Chou is really a representative of the Chinese music scene, looking forward to your comments on more songs
If you feel like doing a huge project, you can listen to all of Jay's songs in chronological order and maybe do a Top 10 review. It will probably take forever but it will be EPIC lol. Great review as always!
Thank you Joe for all the professional and insightful reviews of Jay Chou songs, look forward to more of them! I've been his fan since the first album and honestly sooooo many songs to pick from!!! The unique ones imo would be 终战之殇,反方向的钟 ,娘子 Fast/rap ones 双截棍,龙拳,霍元甲 中国风 (with chinese instruments and melodies) 发如雪,东风破,青花瓷,红颜如霜 (newest) Ballads (KTV hits) 开不了口,安静,稻香,晴天,给我一首歌的时间 Can just do a roulette of his songs really
For me music is the language that transpire all barrier. The language we use to express ourselves and connect with others. Music is love, music is gold
Hey Joe! Hope you are doing well! I was born in China and since I was a kid I have been pretty addicted to Music. So, when I was in primary school, I asked my parents to buy me an instrument, they bought me a flute (the western one) and I practised for a few years and imagined I could step into the music performance industry in the future. However, sadly I didn't pass the enrollment exam of entering the music academy (the year 7~9 intermediate school), which terminated my dream, because the Chinese education environment is such competitive that my family could not afford to spend another year for me to redo the exam. Thus, I moved to the "normal" life track - studying in high school, entering university with another major, and keep studying this major as a PhD currently. But my personal initial aspiration of music hasn't vanished at all, I started to teach myself how to play the fingerstyle guitar while studying for my undergraduate degree in New Zealand; recently I moved to Belgium for my PhD study and just bought a second-hand piano - wanted to teach myself again. Just want to pursue the track of my personal aspiration of the passion for music. I personally feel that learning piano is way harder than guitar tbh, so maybe shouldn't try learning myself, are there any suggestions from you XD? Also, most importantly, I started watching your video since your first cooperation with Sander (how lucky I am!) and I learnt a large amount of music knowledge from you throughout this journey and felt appreciated. Thank you for offering this chance for us to share our own music aspiration, tbh I even never reveal these thoughts to myself, when typing it I felt my understanding of music becomes more vivid and powerful. And thank you Joe (and Sander) for such interesting and meaningful videos, super like em. We should all stay true to our initial aspiration, cheers😊
I have been frequently viewing Joe’s videos on Bilibili and RU-vid. If Joe has time, you can really do an album review. Jay is a musician with an album concept. Firstly ,《JAY》 看油管这么久第一次认真评论给joe爷,哈哈哈哈哈哈哈绝对不是因为心动了nth-100
Enjoy your professional comments very much about the songs of Joy Chou. Your objective point of view just let me know how to appreciate music no matter for a popular song or classic music. Thank you.
please review 紅顏如霜 !!! i would like to know why it could makes me repeat thousand times!!! Maybe this is the best of old Chinese style with R&B combination !!!
There's a unpopular song actually the lyrics is perfect but just the lyrics is written in Hokkien, the song name is 火车叨位去,another classic song of him is 晴天,recommend these 2 songs to you.
Please review a new song " 周懂嗎 " by a group name Steady Gang. The lyrics is generated by ChatGPT , about not understanding some of what Jay chou's singing. Would like to get your response. THANKS!
I am native Chinese but I would never understand what Jay is singing in some of his songs unless I read his lyrics🤣. So it really doesn't matter whether you speak Chinese or not
Regrettably, in Chinese music, Jay Chou is the only musician with original attributes in the past 20 years. Jay Chou's music 20 years ago sounds not out of date at all now
