i don't trust people who underestimate him as a dancer

Overrated and taemin don't belong in the same sentence . The guy has taught himself how to dance when he was young, he got into SM by passing the saturday audition (known for being the hardest way to get in), he practiced +10 hours a day not only dancing but singing too, he has always been humble and down to earth, praised by staff for being nice and smily, inspired countless idols . When he gets an award, he never ever fails to say that he will work harder . He worked *so so hard* to be where he is right now . *He deserves all the recognition in the world*

I love how the overall opinion said "BEST male dancer in the kpop industry" and not the playing safe "ONE of the best dancer in the kpop industry"

He is literally a legend, and no one can deny it.

There are dancers and there's Taemin. He's in another level hands down. And the fact that he has been in THREE different generations... SHINee, his solo career and SuperM, speaks A LOT about him. Although 2nd gen kpop is notorious for simple, repetitive choreos, there’s no doubt they had some of the best dancers out there. Taemin, Hoya, Hyoyeon, Min, Minzy...etc (to name a few)

If anyone thinks Taemin is overrated, I don't want to hear it because I don't want to be lied to. Please, Taemin's been the best and he is still the best, I mean he's probably been dancing since he was born and he's been in the kpop industry since he was 14 like...this is a king👑

I'm tired of seeing people say that Taemin being the best dancer in kpop is subjective, it really isn't tho lol. You can personally prefer other dancers over him, but his overall technical superiority is not subjective.

What was not addressed in this video and which makes Taemin even more phenomenal is that he, unlike the others, had no formal dance training. He started dancing at the age of 10 by watching videos and then practicing in front of a mirror then became the main dancer of SHINee at 14! (international age). That's just pure natural talent.

Taemin only lacks one thing: he doesn't have any weakness.

About the never outstand and blend in with his bg dancers, that's the reason why in Shinee he blended in so well and never made the choreography looks weird or different from other members, he executed the dance perfectly but at the same time blend in with the members, and that's what I admire about him the most. The choreo looks neat, beautiful and clean all together and he rarely overshadow others but still manage to shine.

Taemin is indeed the dancing standard in Kpop industry and what sets him apart from many other idols is that he doesn’t only excel in dancing, but he is a very good vocalist as well, which makes his solo concerts a top notch, mesmerizing performances. I’m proud to be a fan of this super talented artist!

I was fortunate to see SuperM live back in 2019 and I couldn't believe that even in a group filled with some of the best dancers, it was evident that Taemin dominated the stage with his skill sets. He adds an incredible amount of texture and energy that took the group's performance to a different dimension. From front to back to center stage, he brought that power like rent was past due for 2 months with interest and an eviction notice warning. Taemin is larger than life when he's performing on stage and it's so THRILLING to watch!

Man, imagine the average score of SuperM members. Just. Imagine.

I’ve watched numerous idols dance and almost no idol I’ve ever seen has impressed me the way Taemin has. He’s the type of dancer I can watch all day and not be bored.

I'm no dancer, but Taemin never fails to catch my eye. His ability to capture the audience with facial expressions alone is unbelievable. Every time I see him dance, I get goosebumps. In Taemin's most recent MV, 2 kids, his contemporary dance really moved me even before I read the lyrics. I never thought how cool it would be to see Taemin dance tango again, but holy cow now it's the only thing I want lol

I LOVE Taemin’s footwork and when he has choreography that emphasizes it. I feel like clean footwork is probably the most neglected skill in idol dancers, even a lot of main dancers that people will put at the top tier.

I still can’t believe that the little baby idol with the funny-looking bowl cut debuting 12 years ago has worked to become the best male dancer in Kpop. I’m so so proud of him and SHINee in general. They are the standard of modern Kpop!

Literally thousands of people can be doing the same move and NONE of them will look like Taemin. He has such a flair and control in his dancing it's literally as if every inch of his body is listening and moving with his thoughts. It's kinda hard to explain but his style is so distinct and recognizable that it's unmatched.

The second I saw this video, I immediately clicked and expected: 1. 90% of the video to be about his strengths because he deserves it 2. "no visible weaknesses in technique" when that did happen, I was so happy, but also not surprised because taemin truly is the top tier dancer 3. an S ranking and the best score out of all analyzed males so far 4. a super strong statement like "he is the best in the industry" or "no one has matched his skills yet" 5. an in depth, logical, and honest opinion from on the scene because that's what he/she always gives and i appreciate it so much

Taemin debut to early era dance more into popping/hip-hop. In this era he's more into contemporary. Yes he is THAT versatile dancer

I haven't watched any of Taemin's dance before the Jopping performance but after watching it damn now I know why he is the King. Some stages of Jopping are so dark you can't properly recognize people at the back of some formations but there is always this one guy that moves differently and I knew it was him. My biases in Superm are Taeyong and Ten but damn I can't take my eyes off Taemin on that performance.

as a Music Junkie I have come across a lot of talented artists through the years but Noone has drawn me in or hypnotized Me like Michael Jackson until I Discovered 9 years ago an incredible 19 year old talented global Artist Lee Taemin from South Korea western artists do not hold a candle to this Legend. you can see MJ influence in him. I don't have anything to comment on Taemin's dancing anymore since he became the best in my eyes the very first moment I saw him dancing in "MOVE". It was a surreal experience that I cant describe in words. I had never seen someone dance like that ever before. He was so fluid and effortless. I knew right away no way there can be anyone in the industry that can top him. I had no idea about other main dancers in kpop at that time. And later on watching his other works just kept proving it. One thing I will always not like about the Kpop stans is their biased opinions. You just have to keep that bias thing aside sometimes and judge on technical aspects and superiority when you are ranking the artists. For me, Taemin is currently the best dancer, performer, artist as well as a great great human being in the whole world. TAEMIN is not only the over-all best dancer in k-pop He is the best TOTAL PERFORMER. He can not only dance but sing and communicate with his audience live or on screen. He is born with the "IT" that makes him so captivating to watch and listen to. That is innate/inborn in him so no other dancer can copy and makes him stand out among the rest. You can add humility and character as one of the factors that make fans love and support him all through the 12 years (and still counting) of his career. Such an artist and a man to reckon with !!!

I'm wondering about you said about Taemin's torso use - How he rarely does moves that involove torso isolations, but he has done it some and proven he can. I wonder if it is because of his singing? I notice that unlike for other dancers you analyzed, most of the clips you used for Taemin are from his solo career where he obviously has to sing the whole song, or even from Shinee stages where he is a lead vocalist. I've seen vocal teachers talk about how important breath support is and that it means keeping the torso-neck-head alligned and loose/free. I know Taemin is considered a singer with good vocal technique, so maybe that is why he avoids such dance moves?

i personally think he is not only the best dancer in KPOP but one of the best dancers I have ever seen, in general. I can't understand when people say he is not, or place him lower than some other main dancers in their rankings. Objectively, he is the best. I have never seen any other person move the way he does, he is absolutely mesmerizing. When watching videos of him, I can't stop.

I am not a dancer so I have no idea how good is he objectively, but as a kpop multistan, he will always be my favourite dancer. He is just so unique and mesmerizing, combined with perfect vocals, he is just one of a kind!

Praising taemin for 10 minutes. It's so nice to see dance analysis on 2nd gen idols (taemin's and hyo) because you can see their greatness right from the start and they kept on improving. I've been a fan of taemin since their debut and it's sad that 3rd gen fans are bashing him just to praise their idols.

I mean, I only needed to watch, what? 2 maybe? dance performances of Taemin to know he was one of, if not the best dancer in K-pop. And that was before I really got to know him and was not biased at all. In fact, I was, and still kinda am biased to BTS. But after getting to know his style more, I know he is the best dancer in K-pop. Taemin's often dancing style isn't even something I would normally prefer to watch, but whatever Taemin does, I just need to watch and study every movement of his body. There are other great and amazing dancers out there, and you can prefer another dancer. But by pure skills, aura, and style, Taemin is currently on top. Taemin's style is just Taemin's style. We can see mixes of different styles and inspirations, but no one manages to move like Taemin.

Another point to add is that his body highlights his dance A LOT. Rain once said that what makes taemin's dance look so good is how his body line is very pretty. His body proportion is just perfect for a dancer with his style and he certainly know how to utilize that to the most.

And yet everytime I said Taemin is the best kpop dancer, there'd always be people dissing and saying that BTS Jimin is the best while giving out a number of polls. I only studied contemporary for a few years but even I can see that Taemin is hands down the best male idol dancer I've ever seen. Anyone with some experience in dancing would know that. It's sad that we don't even get to speak about clear technical aspects that can be objectively measured when it comes to kpop, be it dancing or singing. Sigh.

I remember having a discussion in a video of "the most consistent kpop main dancers" justified by a COMPUTER and people bashed him saying not because he was literally the most consistent dancer meant he was the best, so, he's technically known (now) the best and also the most consistent, what do you need to accept his official supremacy!

I don't get how Taemin's score in the angles category is the lowest here when the his angles while dancing is one of the most satisfying things to watch. His angles are always precise and consistent compared to his back up dancers, or his team members. I've noticed it several times in his dance practices and live performances of Solo stages, SHINee, and even SuperM. Just look up the 100 dance practice and his dancing lines and angles in that. He is perfect. If you ask me, I'd definitely give him 10 for it.

In conclusion and in short, Taemin is the *nation's main dancer* and if you don't agree you can cry about it. ❤

He is one of Kpop legend who give inspiration and dream to Kpop new generation. Kpop legend who breaks the kpop standart from mushroom hair to one of most admire idol

You can definitely see the difference in every male idols when it comes to techniques and lines. Taemin has beautiful lines that sometimes a very hard choreography looks too easy on him. Take note that it's only Taemin that Rain has his eyes on particularly complimenting Taemin's lines. It's too easy to let go of the words "KPOP's best male dancer" but this time, Taemin is more than that. If you're going to add his eye for visual and creativity, you can definitely see that he's not only the best dancer but the best artist of his generation. Taemin's not just the best dancer anymore. He's more than that. He's now the best performer my eyes ever laid on.

Taemin is honestly too exceptional for this manufactured and mediocre Kpop market. I wish he was better promoted with his music - there’s so many fans begging for his US tour, or world tour! His company should really target western market and try to promote him there, cause he has the potential of a global mega star - everything about him screams uniqueness, quality and talent and as much as he is popular and respected he is still not appreciated enough.

im honestly so glad to have been able to see taemin perform in is peak. full shade but even as kpop has transitioned from vocal to dance-heavy, very few can compare to taemin. hes able to move so great because hes willing to humble himself and continue learning, despite being the very best in his field. something very admirable in such a "plastic" industry.
