I love how they changed Wally's Gardevoir to a Gallade in the remake, and HIS THEME on Victory Road. Like oh my god, they turned _Wally_ into a badass.
Callme Brother Medicham and Mega Metagross are better than it in almost every way. It has lacking abilities, and terrible speed and could be plowed through with priority moves and even walled by prominent walls such as hippowdon and and cresselia. It’s ok on doubles but all it’s probably used for is utility. Even so, other Pokémon do way better than Gallade in utility such as Chansey and Landorus T.
I remember when I learned about Diamond/Pearl and Gallade. I knew I was getting the game later that year as a christmas gift, so I spent the summer breeding Ralts with perfect IV’s all summer. EV trained it meticulously and spent an absurd amount of time getting all of the contest ribbons on it. Later transfered it and evolved it and got a couple dozen more ribbons. It’s still sitting in my pokemon bank to this day. It’s been a long 11 years, my friend. ❤️
Had we been asking about the Gen 4 TCG, the answer would probably have been “unhealthily good”. Gallade was part of the Gardevoir/Gallade deck, which for much of the 2007-2008 season was so dominant Pokémon USA changed the round time structure for worlds (partially) to weaken it. Still leaves a sour taste in some folks mouths.
@Nish The Great "Secret Wonders" set, I believe. This one let you flip your face-down prize cards face up to do extra damage with its attack. It was bolstered by some Gen 3 cards still in the format that allowed it to get going very quickly. It wouldn't look as impressive by modern TCG standards, but the deck it was part of could represent over 50% of the metagame at a major tournament.
Gallade is one of my favorites. I remember when i got my 3ds, it was my first console and AS which was my first legal pokemon game, i tried wondertrade and i was amazed getting Shiny male Ralts named Paladin with perfected IVs and Dawn Stone. I was like "Oh my gosh! ". It got my spot on my team right away and when i was near E4, i sent my Shiny Galade against Wally's Galade, and then they both Mega Evolved. This battle will be forever in my memory
has anyone tried a skill swap gallade? its so good, especially against mega medicham, inner focus can save you for fake out, skill swap it then you have Pure Power Mega Gallade 429 (x2, 858)
it really depends on what ability you are going to change for your own. you can get a good ability like pure power, but you can also get a bad one, like blaze or something
A Doyle yeah, that’s why you predict, cuz just a single change can alter the course of a game, like swapping with something that has, Intimidate, Magic Bounce, Guts, Contrary (Close Combat), Adaptability, Speed Boost, Moxie, Regenerator, Tough Claws, Defiant, Wonder Guard, Sturdy, Chlorophyll, Flash Fire, Storm Drain, Lightning Rod, Swift Swim, Sand Rush, Protean, Beast Boost, Soul Heart, etc... The possibilities are endless, and although situational, I have used it to pretty good success, like yeah teams with not that useful abilities will be much harder to deal with, but teams who play with S tier OU pokémon tend to use more than one, if not all the abilities i mentioned before.
I just realized something: we have TWO Psychic/Fighting-types that got a Mega Evolution, plus another Psychic-type that gains a Fighting-type upon Mega Evolving. Why is this one type combination so well-represented in Megas?
Maybe because fighting embodies the concept of powering up like an anime protagonist using the power of friendship and never giving up and Psychic is often associated with an invisible power that builds within the pokemon until it is forced out in a single powerful action? Like how psyduck will gucking explode if you stress it out too much. Just my guess though
I mean. It's a pretty unique fighting type. Not many of them have high special defense. Especially since his weaknesses of ghost and fairy are often special. So Gallade does have a niche.

Gallade where do I even start how's this I was facing the elite 4 at a young age I pounded my head against the 3 walls, when I came face to face with the 4th a man, cloaked in purple, the glasses of a scholar, and the eyes, devoid of mercy one by one, I struck his pokemon down then he sent it out he won right then and there, and every attempt afterwards I was in awe, one pokemon halted me it killed me quickly, and it took hits amazingly well what was it? how was it so strong? these questions lingered... gen 6, wally I witnessed mega gallade It was the most badass mega id ever seen and I immediately did research at first, I was underwhelmed, and even disheartened then I tried it out... what solidified it for me, was when I was in a 1 v 5, only my gallade was left I mega'd, and won the battle I was amazed, and dedicated everything I had to making my gallade the very best best HP, best SPE, bulk up, psycho cut, drain punch, shadow sneak I used my memories of failing at the hand of a gallade and made mine the embodiment of what stopped me all those years ago amazing bulk, reliable healing, and unstoppable force it wasn't a pokemon, it was a partner, a status symbol it was...my gallade and it still is to this day have your mega kangaskahn rely on your mega Lucario me and gallade dream of striking you down whenever we get the chance and we always do >:) thanks for reading my little story you all have a great day Update: thanks for the comments everyone, I've updated it's moveset to have swords dance instead of bulk up and Max attack instead of HP Also can I get a RIP for no megas in sword and shield My poor gallade

I play Pokemon Blue and maxed out all my Pokemon so they had the highest stats obtainable for them with Persian being my ace that I often use for last! It is so funny that mega gallade in actually singles ou is a tad bit overshadowed/forgotten. Where I am from it got and ability that boosted cut moves and a sacred sword to compensate it, and that was enough to make it ubers
My friend has a Gallade that he's dubbed Godhand Craig, and made it a genetic freak. I'm still trying to figure out what to use to counter the damn thing. Thanks to you, I've come closer to my goal.
@@deepfry4173 Well said! There have been plenty of Pokemon that were good or bad on here, so I don't see why we can't request for Persian to be next. Even if it was horrible I would like to see an in depth episode explaining exactly what made it not good and what it does have going for it. Persian is my favorite Pokemon so I personally would like to see it regardless of how it is, but that's just me.
If they ever bring back megas (and that's a big if), I wonder if they'll change Gallade's so that it gets Sharpness instead of inner focus now. Cause sharpness is definitely a step up from inner focus lol

Since the gen 7 meta game is fairly settled I think you should make an episode or two covering the more notable Pokemon you've covered placements in the new meta.
To this day I am always still surprised that the Ralts family aren't grass-types based on their appearance - they look like onions more than anything else.
in regards to mega medicham versus mega gallade, know that mega gallade is a pretty solid counter to it because of it's ability inner focus, and the fact that it has shadow sneak over it means that gallade had more useful priority and could wreck cham if it got the chance
orcawhale5123 yeah what mario ponce said you can talk a lot more about garchomp due to its versatility like in doubles and singles along with mega coverage (even though not particularly good) Can’t really say the same for volcarona
@@Hayds126 yeah a volcerona video would essentially be gen 5 weather wars volcerona was terrifying to face on sun teams especially with dugtrio eliminating heatran and tyranitar. Gen 6 bird spam made it irrelevant in OU but was still to powerful for UU Gen 7 with talenflame gone and the addition of Z crystals volcerona's opponents now tremble in fear before volcerona once they hear the beat of a quiver dance. Probably one of the best late game sweepers as of now so prevelant that scarf stone edge keldeo is actually common when it shouldn't even be a thing.
I have to say that even though I've played Pokemon since literally the first games came to America, I haven't always thought that much about the competitive side of the games. This series has been very informative and I feel like I'm actually learning something from it. Keep up the good work!
