JediMiner It wasn't about the video, I just found it weird that he would get upset about stuff like him saying markimoo or whatever, or him having that hair as I remember well, thought it wasn't really necessary.
this is kinda dumb to say. Everyone should accept it, and if you don't, don't put everyone in the same place. Plus i was noting the hypocrisy more than ''it can't be done". Because it obviously can. If we couldn't accept criticism we wouldn't be where we are now, in the realm of science and society.
What I mean is: for a lot of people, accepting criticism is a prove that you're weak. And since a lot of societies are build around being the strongest, the smartest, etc. lots of people don't and will never accept criticism. "Everyone should accept it" yes, but not everyone does. Especially those who criticise others, these ones barely accept being criticised themselves. PS: "The realm of science and society" only applies to a small portion of the world... Most people in the world are in deep shit because of multiple reasons, but that's another topic for another day.
Me: I hate drama, it's just such a painfully pathetic and useless thing to be a part of. Terrible, and people who like drama are terrible. Also me: *Laughing maniacally and taking notes*
I think the point I started noticing these issues was when Grade started attacking Markiplier for stupid shit instead of making a point. Now at the time I didn't know the term "ad hominem" so I didn't bring it up when I commented but I sure would have. I do miss the old Grade when he used to be a genuinely hilarious comedian but now I find myself laughing less and less at his videos. I remember one occasion when he used autism as an insult and I asked him on Twitter whether he actually hated autists or just used the term as a joke. His response? A little ambiguous to be honest. Either way, it shouldn't matter to me but I am losing respect for Grade.
Drbazooka couldn't agree more. And his followers aren't any better. When I pointed out in the comments about his argument about Markiplier didn't make sense and Grade contradicts himself in that same video, the first reply I get from is 'Ofcourse you would stand up for a red-haired idiot, since you're a fangirl.' Yes, I'm subscribed to him, but the last thing I am is a fangirl.
It's exactly what quintos said in his video. If you disagree with him, you can forget about having a mature discussion, since everybody sees it as an attack and will use bullshit argument that toddlers wouldn't even use.
exactly, apparently i'm a fanboy of markiplier, even though i don't watch his content, just because i thought grade made a stupid argument. his fans just latch on to everything he says and can't take any criticism of his arguments.
mulle524 I hear ya. what bothers me the most is that I don't watch Grade videos anymore. I use to watch them, but I stopped right after the alfabet video. There are so many errors in his reasoning(in all his 'drama' videos) it just becomes annoying. And he always feels the need to defend himself or prepare arguments for things people could say or point out. Like jeez, stop assuming everybody is going to attack you. People like that come over insecure. It wouldn't surprise me if his own fans turn against him. His fanbase only seem to care about him since he focused to much on attacking other RU-vidrs.
ThomasCritic723 I think his point in that video was that it's hard to take a man seriously when he has pink hair and calls himself "Markimoo" unironically. He didn't execute that plan very well, sure, but there is a point to it. Markiboi was trying to come off like a professional, but neon hair and somewhat creepy, self-assigned pet names are not what most people think of when they hear "professional". I'm not saying I like him. Grade's content went to shit, which is sad because I had only subscribed to him for a few months. I'm just saying that not every point from a person you hate is bad.
Leaf Me Alone Which is sad since him and Leafy backstabbed Keem in order to distance away from him, because at that time Keem was getting shit (and rightfully so). But instead of being friends and helping Keem, they turn on him and make excuses, that came straight from their asses, of why they decided to make a video on Keem.
"Oh look, Tyrone's channel is still up and that's like most of Grade's videos, so I guess no one listened" really had me LOLing. On a serious note, this is a very well-crafted video. Nice job. The idea that popularity=good is something that a lot of youtube users seem to believe, which is sad.
Hmmm..I actually love Grade....'s older videos. Honestly, I think I can agree with a majority of the people here and that I really don't like his Drama related videos. And he keeps saying he hates it but keeps getting involved.
that's the business aspect of things. hop on both wagons. if things don't make sense, don't turn to science, look at the business side, and it'll all make sense.
Seasonal Deerling I already know what Grade's reaction will be if a Content Cop is ever made on him. Grade will get mad, miss the point of the video, ignore criticisms, and insult idubbbz's intelligence.
Tim no, that’s like saying that Grade should’ve been the greatest channel for embarrassing Matthew Santaro, but we can obviously see that not true, but to give Reactor credit: the video was good. Just cause you embarrass someone doesn’t make you the best.
agree so much, i honestly don't understand how that term caught on. you're a content creator? well, so is your digestive system, wouldn't you want to separate the two?
It makles sense in the general idea (journalist, YTber, gamer, artist, and programmer would all fall under the umbrella when analyzing internet media), but it is kinda silly in the context of YT, where it's 95% videos and 5% music mixes with cool wallpaper (thuogh I suppose VEVO alone is a good 20% of YT view) btw, I see you speedrun. Much respect to you and you talent/effort.
I don't know, I think it makes sense as an umbrella term. It covers vloggers, reviewers, reaction channels, memes, tutorials and every other type of content without having to make an impossibly all-inclusive list.
once i commented on grade video suggesting that he changes his aspect ratio, he replied, agreeing with me and saying that he will (an example of him taking "criticism") but he didnt change the aspect ratio. he hurt me.
i disagree with quinton and pewdiepie on extreme moderation of comment section. having the creator and youtube handle the comments is good. forums, and comment sections from other sites - aren't good.
when he started telling people to not tip waiters and waitresses, a job predominantly filled by high school and college students who can't get anything better and have to live off a piss poor paycheck to do things like pay for rent and student debt i didn't just fall off the bandwagon, i grew wings and flew off that shit
I believe that's one of the reasons why he left. Ian would've destroyed the channel anyway. I also believe if he does make a full comback, Ian will be waiting for him.
If there's one thing that has been made clear in the past few years it's that a staggering amount of people don't know how to properly argue points and debate. It's a damn shame that I have to see so many grown adults resort to 3rd grade debate tactics and whats even more problematic the sheer amount of people who act as if this is constructive debating when it usually boils down to two adults talking over each other and name calling.
A nontypicalmeme I think we've all realized that people will listen to petty name calling and insults more than evidence. the reason being because it's more entertaining. And when something is entertaining, a lot of people will listen, which then becomes the popular opinion.
A nontypicalmeme it is sad to see a species so sophisticated yet lacking proper knowledge of the human mind. We act like fools running around stealing others lands and ruining cultures. People now are easily insulted and can not take a valid argument in the face. It is ashamed to see that humans can not be equal in our mind sets and instead run away in embarrassment because simply we don't like showing our natural way of living just like our primitive ancestors... Sorry if this was long I am just frustrated of what we have become...
Reminder if you're here part of the GradeA brigade to defend him and comment on this video, you are helping Quinton get more visibility in youtube's algorithms. Thank you for your service and keep being salty GradeA fanboys.
Honestly I think Grade doesn't realise how much power he actually has over his fans. Like he still thinks he's a smaller youtuber (Like Quinton) who can make "drama" videos like this one and not cause too much damage.
PeelTheStickers Yeah, maybe. I rather liked the line where she says she'll come again next week to the orphans, and one of them says 'Please don't'. Still makes me laugh. But yeah, bound be some variation after a hundred episodes. Just wish they'd never cancelled the show. Love the rubiks cube btw.
-All of the characters became as moronic as Fry in the newer episodes, meaning that he had to become a Deus Ex Machina level of inconsistency. Fry also use to have some of the best sympathetic moments like with the 7 Leafed Clover and with Seymour, and all of it was trashed to make him an unredeemable amount of stupid. -All of the Planet Express members went on missions making each episode share the same level of minimalist character development, as opposed to having variations between episodes. -Earlier Futurama had the Simpsons treatment, where there was a moral that went along with the entertainment of the episode, as opposed to thing happening because of, ''why not?''.
The show scarified pacing and all realms of development for making every character even more of a running gag then they previously were meant to and to add some action to it. It became something else in the newer episodes, which is where a lot of people garnish that idea that the newer ones weren't as good. I'm definitely on that side of the fence, but I can see why people would like it if they didn't experience that gap of time from old episodes to new from 02'-2010. The change was more subtle if you started watching it in 2010.
Mari Edwards Knowing how things are going, I will have to give it some time. Grade A is slowly hitting rock bottom and everyone are noticing his screw ups and his Hippocrates(If I pronounce that right).
ThyCrimsonReaper I will gladly wait to see Ian rip Grade a new one. Honestly I'm just happy that people are finally noticing that Grade is a douchebag. I'm so tired of people hailing him like he's the king of youtube and pretending that he changed youtube for the better. Even pewdiepie had a bigger impact on youtube than him.
I enjoy your logical, structured, evidence backed style of argument. Much more preferable to GradeA's style, which is very opinionated, unstructured, and emotion backed. Grade is one of those people who never hold themselves to a particular ideal, and only leaps onto a particular bandwagon when someone has been revealed to be a total asshole, kills or knocks out the driver, and then claims he was leading it the entire time.
loving these analytical videos on youtubers, keep it up man! you really know how to handle these topics better than anyone else in a perfect fuse of serious and comedic
I'm sure this will get lost among the sea of comments, but know that you have an amazing voice for this, it's soothing to hear and shit. I'm sure you'll go far if you keep going like that
When one points out the fallacies of others, they should avoid using that fallacy to confirm their claim against the others... Else that's a fallacious argument itself.
This is the first video I have ever watched on your channel. I'm already falling in love with your content. No, I'm serious. Your arguments are all so very well-presented, your point of view is rather interesting and your voice is amazing. This makes your videos even better. The only other RU-vidr who made me feel like was I Hate Everything. You have the potential to become as great as IHE (in my opinion), if not better. I'm really looking forward to your next videos. :D
Fucking hell. I was being cynical about your video until the part where you show us the twitch stream of him contradicting himself. I should do more research. Thanks, and you gained a sub, but im still gonna watch grade.
No, it’s called JAZZ. Ever heard of it? Kenny is great with improvisation, his music is honestly really good. As for the pretentious comments, you have clearly never been in any type of music circle, or any circle.
Hey Quinton, good job. I think GradeA started to become worse when he and Leafy did their business decision against Keemstar. His phone number idea was probably to try to lessen people from criticizing him openly, however since people are still commenting about this stuff...Guess it didn't work, huh? I really wish that RU-vid didn't have to become like this, but it just takes time ya know? Heard Leafy was going to get his channel deleted (unless RU-vid is lazy once again), which could make things better. It is sorta like a chess game in that way: Leafy and GradeA made all the right moves, but forgot that an attack was being build up against their King...Seems like the attack is starting, wonder how it will end?
Thank you for this video. I do see your point but I will keep watching grade, I find his videos funny and now I've learned to take them with a grain of salt. Thanks
yesss you've said this so perfectly, i expected so much better from gradeA, like my favorite video from him was his bitter video, i wish he made more stuff like that
*"He's not actually playing a character, but his persona in his videos is a reflection of how he really is in real life."* Idk why but I just find that to be hilarious.
ITS SIMPLE!! HE started posting RU-vid D R A M A VIDEOS!! and it BACKFIRED....... WAAAY BEYOND HIS CONTROL! that is when his downfall started! dont play with fire!!!!
fans like me was there discussing shit about this and that telling him to stop joining the bandwagon but ooooh boy! E---FUCKING--GO TISTICAL GRADE thinks he can... so he should.... so yeah! RIP to his channel..
You are really good with your analyzing. I'm definitely glad I stumbled across you're content and now I'm really giving your next videos a chance. I'm still subscribed to Grade just in case he improves. I feel like he has hope, at least compared to Leafy.
even as a child i couldnt sit through a leafy video, its like i could watch any other comentary, gaming, etc youtuber and not get bored but leafy just made me tired
Quinton you've honestly become one of my favorite new youtubers to binge, your videos are great and you come across stuff like this very calm and collected. Keep it up ^-^
interesting, i got bored of grade's content around the time before the "everything wrong with -Tyrone Magnus- RU-vid" video. didn't even know he made them. now that i do i'm pretty glad i left.
In a completely unbiased opinion I can't remember a futurama episode I didn't like, I'm being honest so don't write me off as ( he doesn't want to admit it" Just cause you didn't like them doesn't mean everyone else didn't and just lies to themselves, that's a kind of ignorant stance.
It's also obnoxious how he toots his own horn about "making youtube great again". Welp, us folks in December of 2017 can confirm that NOTHING has changed and the platform is still fucked.
