Jeter wasn’t unanimous but he wasn’t near the player Cabrera was either. He was on the Yankees at the right time. He’s great but not Miggy great. Also Cabrera’s numbers had he played at yankee stadium wouldn’t been even more gaudy.
I don’t care how good he “was” he isn’t worth a roster spot anymore and you all know it. Beyond a liability. To keep Miggy will be “good for baseball” but bad for Detroit, bad for our teams chances of winning, bad for our run production, bad in the politics BS that he’s taking the spot over someone anyone who can be more productive. But we have to be loyal to this man it’s absolutely insane. All the best to Miggy I just don’t understand why I have to wait a whole another season making this coming one 8 consecutive where our team is just trash, it should be illegal for an owner to tank this long, at this point illitch owes everyone in the state and Detroit city an apology and check for compensating how much they suck. So because Miggy wants to play we have to wait another year to compete and that’s trash.
Playing his way out of the hall of fame. You can't end your career with 7 seasons of net negative war (assuming a miracle doesn't happen next year) and get into the hall of fame.
@@Phoneybeetlemaniacxs If he had retired 5 or 6 years ago, he'd be first-ballot without question, but you shouldn't be in the hall of fame if you end your career with most of a decade of sub-replacement level baseball. He will still get in because too many hall of fame voters still care about counting stats, but he doesn't deserve it.
@@fignons_missing_8sec4 ok Hank Aaron Willie mays Albert pujols rafael palmeoeo a rod moggie all of these have 3k500 plus dlmt forget he had a triple crown every man who has that is hall of fame
@@fignons_missing_8sec4 this is moronic. By your logic if pujols retired a year ago he shouldn’t be a HOF guy either with how bad he was with the angels. And pujols is a top 10 hitter to ever live. So bad
@@ian3740 1. They're not exactly comparable; before he became washed, Pujols had triple-digit WAR, whereas Cabreras sub 70 peak pre-washed war is lower than multiple (noncontroversial) players who are not in the hall of fame. That being said, Pujols's renaissance this year didn't hurt.
