Best of luck. Could you share more info on applying as an Arts Grad, please? Did you have to do Science Alevels or you already had them please?

just wondering, if you don't mind me asking how did your application go?

Your video crafting is excellent, and the way you present your information is beautiful. The Dune novel clearly reflects the level of skill you have :)

Well done to you and good luck 👍. I never got pass through UKCAT, BMAT etc. Feels like my brain can’t function on that level 🧠

2:51 - Wow!!! 1/50 chance for a graduate! Thank you for sharing those stats. But why do they do this? Is this ageism? Preference over a younger candidate?

Thats a good question! I'm not sure what the answer is though - but i'd like to see the competition ratio's come into alignment in the future

In South Africa there's only one. Pretty much the entire country wants in unfortunately😅

Ah man. I was 0.5% off getting a first, now that you mentioned that Barts is unlikely to accept except firsts 😢 I wanted Barts

Not impossible! Just statistically difficult - you just need to finesse the UCAT

You mentioned that you had work experience in healthcare before applying for GEM. What type of work experience did you do and how did you go about getting this?

Brother you smashed it with this video. I studied Btec biomed and applied however i got rejected by 3 unis the forth one offered me Mpharm and biomed. What do you recommend i should choose to get into medicine. Gap year is not an option. Thank you
@mariushugh

Yes brother, thank you for the kind words. Mpharm and biomed will both keep all the options open in terms of potential graduate medicine courses - particularly if you get a 1st class. I would say go with your gut and what you feel you will be more interested in.

How important would you say work experience is ?? I don’t have any in the NHS cause I only realised this past summer after graduating that medicine is what I want to do.

I'm doing ODP right now, but I'm wanting to apply to graduate entry medicine, do you think ODP will be accepted as a undergrad degree?

Same.....I'm on first year ODP but I wanna apply for GEM....I applied for undergraduate but didn't get in.

I think you'd have to look specifically at the unis that accept applied health courses as well... unfortunately some don't according to my research right now.

Do they care about what university you go to. E.g going to a uni such as bcu to study biomedical science ???
@mariushugh
@mariushugh Год назад
I think its fine to study anywhere! I haven't come across any evidence of grad med schools favouring particular universities.

Hi, I have small question. Do I need to complete all 3 years in biomed degree to apply to graduate medicine?
@mariushugh
@mariushugh Год назад
No! You can apply in September of your final year with your predicted degree grade. I had biomed colleagues at durham who did that and started grad med immediately after undergrad. All the best
