After living alone for seven years, I spent part of the first UK COVID lockdown with my parents. It honestly drove me slowly insane (I don't live like they do and boomers insist on doing everything on hard mode) and I became so much more appreciative of having my own place. The only downsides of living alone are the modest cost premium and being solely responsible for everything that needs doing, but that's about it. The sense of freedom and peace is just wonderful.

The parents complaining is hilarious because they are the ones who encourage this bad behavior 🙄

First of all, keep your hands to yourself! No one should EVER be hitting or slapping another person. Especially, the one they say they love! Real love doesn't hurt.... it heals. Train train your children up in the ways you wish them to go. Expect more out of your children, this teaches them in many areas and helps them become self-sufficient as they grow older and gives them, self confidence. These, are entitled young adult brats. They're doing, what they've been allowed to get away with. I've taught my daughter from a very young age how to do house chores, how to price compare and stay on a budget. When we needed to get groceries or anything else, I taught her how to add everything up and gave her the money to pay so then, she would learn, how to pay for goods in a public setting and also how to handle money. I have taught her to always pay her responsibilities, first. Don't compulsion buy. Chances are, in a month's time you won't even want the same thing or you'll forget all about it. You are 30% more likely to buy an item in the store if, you pick it up first. Pay for your needs and save for your wants. You must teach your children how to grow up and become respectful, responsible adults.
