Awfully generous words from you, Jeff, for a teammate who just boofed you at the line (lol); but then again...Brennan was a monster all that time and "deserved it" (as announcers are so fond of saying).

It’s almost confusing watching a good old fashioned free-for-all every-man-for-himself field sprint in the era of leadout trains and dominant teams controlling the last 5 miles of every race. Looked like the finish of a scratch race on the track. Refreshing!

Thoughts at the finish: If you no longer go for a gap that exists, you are no longer a racing driver.

The guy "leading Brennan out" at the end was Brendan Housler (EVOQ) who your teammate Chris should know well from the Masters RR.

Few have the stones to post power data along with a front AND back cam so serious props to you for that. That tells me you have an excellent chance of getting there. You aren’t going to like this but at 4:44 in video, when you cut to where you are, you’re waaay buggered if you’re looking to win. At 5K to go it’s everyone’s responsibility to have already found their teammates ahead of them and gotten organized, not theirs to wonder where you all are. If the order of you and Sam is wrong, that should have also been straightened out earlier. What in the hell is your teammate doing sprinting with 400m to go? A side note: Brennan was correct to go up the road with the break. You guys had plenty of riders left inside 1K. Was Cooper working for Brennan in the break? Can’t tell but it looks like he was and NOT attacking. Excellent job Cooper, if so! Anyway, Brennan’s been in that break and tried some stuff so he’s gassed but he’s followed a wheel for a while and so, when he looked over and saw you and Sam, he should have gunned it THEN to lead you for as long as possible, NOT for himself for 5th later. That was pure cat 6. And you should have immediately gotten on his wheel when you saw him. Hopefully you saw him. Anyway, like it or not, preferable or not, at that point you’re leadout for Sam and should not be threading needles or surging. The LUX guy is a junior, on junior gears, on the flat. Know your competition. Bike racers are SUPER sensitive. They don’t like being told they’re wrong. It’s a niche of a niche hobby and there’s a whole lot of personal bs packaged up but the best can recognize when they’ve made mistakes and can learn from them. This was pretty bad but you guys were right there and if you’d all have ridden it correctly, you’d have won. Easily. That guy leading Best Buddies was absolutely thrashing.

It my first time going to to be @one with my new team from my mom home town from Parkersburg west Virginia

I went to my first in person crit this past labor day, the GMSR crit in Burlington VT. To my excitement I saw a purple mike's bikes jersey, some guy blasting off the front and I was wondering if it was jeff, but it was Cooper! Guy was beasting it the whole race solo, so fun to watch.

That wasn't a gap in my opinion. There was a bigger gap between my eyebrows and my eyes when that gap was slotted.

I raced in the 15-16 field the day before (got caught up in a crash and snapped my fork) . I was wondering how your Gopro lasts the entire race?

After spending three laps in a breakaway, it hurt being caught at 5k to go.

In a perfect world, how and when would you have made the decision to work for Brennan? And how would you make sure the whole team knows?

I absolutely cannot understand having a high-level championship road race that is dead flat. All you're really measuring is who has the best leadout/sprint. It doesn't really even bring into play the bike handling skills needed in crits.

I dont care what number I am. Doing it for the algorithm 😎

I have a question on your final sprint, could you have sprinted a bit more and pass by the white jersey and stay on the wheels of the front 2 riders instead? Would you think that would give you a better chance of sprinting for the national championship?

I started to follow cycling since 1960 ....and NEVER in all these years I have seen a race where the cameraman show the back of the riders rather the front ....How like we are that such a things doesn't happen in Europe .
