I'm a Category 1 cyclist sharing my tips and tricks to make you a faster bike racer. This channel covers strategy, technique, equipment, nutrition, etc. with a focus on road and criterium events.
"Everything you need to know. . . " Mein himmel, one of the biggest examples of exaggeration I've seen on YT for a while. All you did was rant about a few computers you own...and somehow you think this means you've talked about everything of bike computers. Some things you never talked about: - GPS computers are way more expensive that wired or wireless...and are dependent on systems the rider can't control; GPS doesn't have 100% coverage, thus GPS only suitable to road riders and limited to locations under GPS coverage. - Computers with builtin batteries, if you can't purchase replacements, and possibly can't open one up, gives these expensive computers a very short lifespan...as opposed to computers of old that ran easily obtained and replaceable button batteries. ( good for the bike industry though, as many companies design their products to be unserviceable throwaways) - Headlights may interfere with wireless computers. I run 2 different lights mounted in front of my bars on my XC HT. Wiring zipped tied away from computer, which is stem mounted. Running both interferes with wireless signal. Running either one doesn't. I run old school button battery computers...wired...and will never buy any grossly overpriced GPS ones.
surprised that We never really see EJ directly behind another rider 'inches' - Makes for boring 'Butt' video but , makes for better drafting. 'Q' Wasn't the rider in black being lapped? and what's the rules regarding jumping into a break?
I saw NorCal and had to subscribe...I live in Reno and up until a few years ago, we had a crit race called the Tour de Nez. I always wanted to compete but never thought I was good enough. Watching your videos makes me want to fix up my old Bontrager hybrid and try to put some reps in....
I just tried to go on my first group ride, they didn’t let me in because I didn’t have a helmet. I bought one right after and now I can officially go on my first group ride. 🎉
I’m a relatively untrained on a road bike and I haven’t touched a squat rack in over 10years since I stopped Bmx racing. I’m doing 30seconds power of 1000W and 3second power of 1580W. I’m aiming to hit 1800W with some proper training no gym. Bmx days were well over 2KW
You lost me when you said "Highest level of crit racing in the USA, arguably in the world....". Like no criterium races happen anywhere else in the world? Let me guess, like every other US sport the only competitors are Americans so they have to be the best in the world right. Get your parochial head out from between your legs and understand the world starts at the end of the US borders where international competitions take place between riders from differing countries so that the international best is truly established.
the wind would need to be going faster than you can ride, and if you eliminate that opposing force, crazy speeds can be achieved so it would need to be like 100mph wind in order for rolling resistance to catch up. Interesting question, I'm sure someone can do the math on that.
May I ask what software you used to make the video!! This data presentation is very intuitive and beautiful. I like it very much. Can I know how you did it? Thank you.
Thx for the great footage. I hope the injured riders get well pretty soon. Can you guys comment on that beautiful and fastest bike in the world, Simplon Pride 2?
Im from Australia and new to cycling. Really? I thought it was America given the amount of races, organisers and general culture around it. But happy to be educated :-)
The barriers are awful, with the foot sticking out into the road. In Europe they switched to the ones that lean back so there’s no foot and more space at the top …..
