Hi, I’m 16. Currently in college doing engineering, I’ve been struggling to know what I want to do after, I’ve found out I’m quite good at design. I have been watching lots of investment videos and want to get investing at a young age. Then I found quite a few videos on real estate and I’ve found it quite interesting. However I’m not quite sure how to get into it. Thanks for the video.

Good morning Chris. First of all, thank you for this lovely and warm video. I am very happy that you have been motivated to succeed in your career. I am a management student with ILM and I wish to go into real estates, I have been working for over 10 years in customer service and I mostly worked in hospitality. I am at a point in my life where I have a fiancee and wish to settle into a more professional/office based and uniformed career. I was wondering if it will be a good choice for me to get an apprenticeship in an agency and spend the next 2 years developing myself into this industry? I honestly want something stable and successful for my future family and hard work means nothing to me.
Would you recommend to do a course prior to starting a trainee job or anything like that? I’m 19, have A-levels wandering what’s the best way to start and since covid is around lots of time for courses and learning
Fantastic video.. this is something I’ve always wanted to try. My first business was a games & DVD shop years ago. The second shop was a high end Furnitre shop used to get footballers buying. And lead a small construction company. My computer skills need brushing up what packages & skills do I need to be good at so I can practice these before hand pls Chris ? 👍
Hi. Social media skills I’d say are the number one right now. Also your usual word, excel etc but the google suites are also pretty good. Estate agency isn’t about. Computer skills though... it’s about people skills
Very helpful and informative video! Please can somebody explain more about getting into the industry at a young age and the qualifications needed to get into the industry e.g GCSEs/Alevels and whether or not a degree/ uni is required. Thankyou
Most UK Estate agents are salaried with a very small commission. Usually 10% of the average commission of 2%. There are commission only agents top though for the same big companies that operate in the US. The commission is usually 50-80% of 1.5%. Plus a few German and UK companies. I was hoping to do it myself but probably won't be able to for now
I’m 22 and working in conveyancing at a law firm and u am considering moving to become an estate agent. What worries me is that the job isn’t all that stable. I own a house at the moment so need to ensure I am earning enough for that. Any advice for this?
Hi I’m going into my second year at college this year. Changing course and was wondering if you recommend any course that would help me to get into an estate agent once I’m 18. I’ve applied for health and social care (not related to estate agent but something to do until I’m 18.) would you more recommend business studies or would it not matter? I would hopefully have a level 2 in the course I choose by next year.
Thanks for the video, Chris. I wonder if you have experience with people with non-native speakers in the industry? Currently in engineering role and planning to give a shot into the estate industry, just a bit worried as it looks there are not many foreign people in the industry and seems difficult to land the first job.
I’d say that it doesn’t really matter. As long as you’ve got the drive, the work ethic and the desire then you can do anything you want. I hope that helps
