i thank god for coming across your channel, an hour ago i feel like i barely knew anything but ive been watching your videos and i feel like i know a lot more. i’m from the uk, and i live in a city where there isn’t really anything going on related to acting that i’d enjoy/ feel interested to do. ive been looking all over for agencies, for advice, basically just somewhere to start and ive had no luck but ive been watching your videos and i feel like there’s a lot more that i could do and i just wanna thank you for that, have a good day man. any advice would be handy, or even a response. i forgot to say, i have absolutely no experience but naturally, i’m good at it. i can say that. anyways, have a good day once again, can’t wait for your next video! i will probably still be watching some other videos, every little helps. thank you :).

I'm glad you are finding the videos helpful! Thanks for watching! If there are no acting classes where you live, I highly recommend you find some online acting classes to attend. I'm sure there are acting schools in London that are offering classes via zoom right now.

I booked a commercial role last year , worth a huge buyout, they told me on the last day before flight that they couldn’t get my visa ready in time for the shoot so they gave the role to someone else less than 24 hours before the flight ,

This is so amazing. I'm in school for theater arts and I am nervous and excited to start school! I start in August this year and i have put it off so many times to pursue this career due to being afraid, but thanks to your videos I feel better about moving forward and REALLY going into this field of work that I'm passionate about. Whats ironic is that I've watched alot of your videos including the one I watched today that talked about your journey moving to Atlanta and all the auctions and roles you were offered, and I've had plans to move to Georgia to pursue my careers for a while now, so this definitely must be a sign! Acting Career Center You are so welcome! You give such great tips! I feel ya on the driving you use to do. Being in Texas, I drive to Dallas (10 hour round trip) and Austin and Houston (4 hour round trip) for auditions. Self tapes have saved a lot of miles for me lately 😅

As long as you are willing to make the drive every time you get live auditions and callbacks it shouldn't be a big problem.

Do you think it's possible for someone all the way from Kenya to be cast in an American movie even though I don't live there..... Plus am 16

To be honest, it is very difficult for actors that live outside of the United States to audition for American movies and shows because there are two major roadblocks. 1. It's actually illegal for someone to work in the US unless they are a US citizen, permanent resident, or have a proper work visa. For actors, that would be the O1 visa. I'm not an expert on immigration so I can't provide any guidance on obtaining an O1 visa so you'll have to do your own research on that. 2. It is so much easier are cheaper for a production to hire a local actor as opposed to someone who lives far away. People that live in the US even face this problem. It is much harder for an actor who lives 500 miles away from Los Angeles to get auditions than the person who actually lives in Los Angeles. So if it's difficult for the person that lives 500 miles away, it's exponentially more difficult for the person that lives overseas.

I'm sorry but I'm not an expert on accents and dialects. My best advice would be to go to a voice coach or dialect coach for that.

When I got started at age 26, I was taking acting classes just for fun. I had no intention of pursuing it as a career. After one year of taking classes 2-3 times per week, my teacher and some classmates helped me get an agent.

In a self tape audition do yo immediately start acting for the role or do you say hello to them ?

You don't necessarily say "hello" but sometimes they will ask you to slate. A slate is when you say your name directly into the camera (sometimes they will ask you to say some other information as well like your height, the city you live in, your agent, etc.). Depending on the casting director, some will ask you to slate in the beginning of your video before you start the scene. Others will want you to start the scene immediately and do the slate at the end. It is also common to record the slate in a separate video entirely. Pay attention to the audition taping instructions because they will usually tell you what they want.

I don't know what the best university is for acting. You don't have to go to a university to get acting training. There are many acting studios with great teachers that are much more accessible and affordable than university classes. Drama Inc is one. Pralgo's Acting Class is another. Many more.

No, acting classes and agencies are totally different. If you do end up going to a proper acting college/university, it could help you get noticed by agents as some institutions invite agents to scout for talent.
