How to build extra heavy-duty sawhorses. I build these sawhorses getting ready for an upcoming timberframe project to hold big BEEFY White Oak Timbers.

You tipped over the beam when driving backwards with the forklift, didn't you?! 😉

Only Mr. Will Walker can make a set of saw horses like a Hollywood production. Thanks as always for the inspiration. I was half expecting to see a Nadia Comaneci style dismount...perhaps another time.

I glued my sawhorses on all the joints and put a sacrificial piece on top to get beaten up and replaced and I have the legs in housing mortises. My saw horses are a total overkill, I know that, but nothing to strong ever broke. :) I really love timber framing so I am also really looking forward for the next videos.

I am very envies of you, I used to love woodwork and I think I have every tool ever made in my three sheds, my only problem is now at the age of seventy and suffering from the long lock down (I spent far too long watching all the RU-vid videos out there) that I need a stick to help me move even a few yards and now what used to take me an hour has become a full day’s work and then I have to rest for a few days to regain my strength.

Hi john, try to get a rhythm again. Go outside once or twice a day, take a walk and increase the distance each day for a little bit. Try eating food which contains all supplements your body needs. Often tiredness comes from a lack of iron in your blood. My mom had the same problem after lockdown, she finally gets an iron infusion today after a period of being tired all day for a long time. Hope u get your strength again for pursuing the greatest hobby out there again as you used to. Greetings from Germany

I got bored during quarantine and made a white oak + maple cutting board. White Oak does not like to plane nicely near knots - was especially difficult because I was doing everything with hand tools to make a more manageable mess in my tiny ass apt.

I have the same planer and havent connected the dust collection due to issues finding the correct connectors. I see you just taped them. Great job! If Grizzly is sponsoring you I would think they would want their machines properly connected? I am taping mine tomorrow

When you used the term "pony horse" in the beginning I had something else in mind ... But these are some very nice sawhorses. Shows how well the age old designs hold up. I assume you prefer working at a higher lever than a pony horse affords. I think I'd like the pony horse for stacking and for working while sitting on the wood...rather than standing through the entire framing joint work.

I’ve made similar ones but formed an I-beam for the ‘back’ using just 2x4s.

Its sturdy as all get out. My house is timberframed put of Oak. I chose White Oak specifically for this project because it's an outdoor space

Shouldn't it be a CABANA?
@wmwalkerco
@wmwalkerco 4 года назад
Cabanas are pool or beach side structures yes, but this will have a full bar and kitchenette. There's backstory. When I was 16 I converted a 16x16 shed into what we called Wills Cantina. Pool table, seating, chili pepper lighting, license plates on the walls,, the works. It was a place me and my friends could get away from the parents but we were close enough they knew we were safe. It was as close as I could come to the Mexican cantinas I saw in western films. This structure will be a upscaled version of that. Think of it as a place where friends can gather around a bar and swap stories then jump in the pool.
