So happy to have been able to witness this weapon during the Étape du Tour. Great quick chat with you Tristan, in the last kilometres of the Col de la Couillole, you were so nice with me ! I hope to see you again on the roads ! Cheers, Colin

Bought a set of Assiomas at the start of this year, best thing I've done in all my years on the bike. Data coupled with a HRM, the power readings completely know whether you should be on a hard or easy day within 10 minutes of being out on the road.

Just got myself a red Teammachine recently as well! Been loving the ride and it's just a treat to look at. At size 58 I can only dream of that weight though 😅

I’m not a racer, but BMC TeamMachine geometries seem interesting to me. If the frames were a little more affordable, I would be able to find out if they work for me long term!

Nice job, Tristan. I'll take inspiration from your video, my Bianchi - Specialissima 2022 (weight: 7,5 kg.) urgently need to loose weight, I put it on a strict diet🤣🤣🤣. First of all, I need to lighten the rotating masses, that is, mainly rims, tires, inner tubes, brake discs. Finally, if I still have something left to spend, I will move on to replace the crankset (the 12V Dura-Ace cassette is ok, at the moment), perhaps switching to a single chainring. Am I wrong?
@tristantakevideo
@tristantakevideo 2 месяца назад
Yeah I think that's a great way to do it - rotating mass first, based on budget. Often lighter tires will help make a bike feel lighter as they have lower rolling resistance, and it's easy to save a lot of rotating mass in the tubes by going latex or TPU over butyl. Wheels are the most expensive upgrade but are most noticeable usually. Carbon cranks are a good way to shave a few hundred grams as well, but i'd stick with a dual chaining setup, personally...weight saving shouldn't override practicality.

@marcus_velo_9970
@marcus_velo_9970 2 месяца назад
top of the line, wow, the only thing I would change would be the disc rotors, why, cause the Shimano Dura-Ace/Ultegra rotors have a aluminum core for heat dissipation, then again you're lightweight so maybe not an issue.
@tristantakevideo
@tristantakevideo 2 месяца назад
Yeah, for very long descents, the Dura-Ace rotors have less brake fade than the Galfer's, but I haven't found it a huge issue for me so far. Maybe i'll go back in future.

@tristantakevideo
@tristantakevideo Месяц назад
@@ekm3820 For flat terrain, i'd go the slightly deeper versions. These are great for climbing but the more aero 50mm or 60mm versions will be quicker on the flat for not too much of a weight penalty.

Very nice build, one question, how much weight had the shimano dura ace brake disc had for you to switch to galfer brake disc?
@tristantakevideo

I haven't weighed the Dura-Ace discs and I didn't switch to Galfer for the weight, but I think the Dura-Ace would be lighter.

Why would you use the tubeless version of the tyres with tubolitos? Would save even more weight using the clincher gp5000

My scott addict 30 2020 frame and fork is around 1250 I can't find information how much it is so I ask a engineer from scott he told my is around as the 2017 version not much big difference.the wheels is around 1540 kilo aluminum keep in mind crankset 650 grams but somehow the bike weights 7.750 kilo I forgot some parts of tiagra like shifters and the brakes

Weighed in WITHOUT the pedals. I think that is worth mentioning. So WITH PEDALS would be 6,8Kg. Not bad for a disc brake bike.

Impressive weight! China sells carbon cranks, you could run 53/39 and save 130g. I don't think they make 54/40, and I don't think they make 165 either (you can choose between 170 and 170, afaik). So I guess DA it is for you :)
@tristantakevideo
@tristantakevideo 2 месяца назад
True. Panda Podium have carbon cranks around half the weight of the Dura-Ace, and they have them in 165mm and 54/38, so maybe that needs to be my next purchase...

"How did I get my bike's weight down to a non-impressive number? I just threw lots of money at it, bought some parts that I won't describe further (like through-axles), and that's it." I like your videos, how you structure your communication, and obviously your magic with videos (for a lack of better English). This bike and this video however, are completely uninteresting. We have seen countless bikes that are good because they are expensive and for a few years now, we have seen bikes that were good despite being cheap. But it all comes down to lego for grown-ups: Choose some parts that get clicks (like a frameset for 4k €, or some "spicy" chinese parts that get the discussion rolling). Where is the real innovation? Where are the people tricking out their bikes with ingenuity and some craftsmanship?! And what really disappoints me is the final message with a tone of 'thanks for supporting me, otherwise I could not make a video about someone else building up my bike with sponsored parts and lots of money' -.- Let me reiterate: I will keep watching and liking your videos. You can do better than this, though
