@@JennJackson Hi Jenn J ..How are you? I love your videos as I struggle with this natural hair journey....Recently I DM you about how can I find Haitian Almond oil cause I'm Haitian as well...
Oh I'm an old woman who stumbled upon hair videos. I was amazed! Only now I'm learning about hair and how it should be treated. I noticed every one has long flowing hair, "see how it bounces" they say. Then I came across your videos, I am beginning to follow your easygoing step by step thanks Jenn you're showing your grandmother how to take care of her ?4F hair-very damaged, very grey, very short!
I love that you show how much shedding you had in a wash day 😩 I literally cringe every time I see some hair fall out of my head but this reassured me that it’s normal as long as it’s not an excessive amount
That means you need to trim your nails just a little bit or file them down a little. Your nails are snagging on your hair bc there are little rips in them, take those out before they snag on your hair and break not only your hair but your nails as well. :) also don’t detangle while dry just take out shed hair😉
Literally the ONLY youtuber i miss🤣🤣 I usually spritz with warm water then add pre-poo oil. Put 2 plastic bags and a fleece beanie. And pre-poo over night...
I honestly didn't take care of my hair. I've been natural for two years and I thought I was suppose to ignore my hair☠️. My hair stayed in braids and sew ins, wigs etc. I didn't learn my hair and I got growth but I didn't get the growth I want. You're the first person I've seen with hair like mine and now I'm learning I need to take better care of it. So I'm going to try now🥺☠️
You have taught me so much about my 4c hair. When my hair was matted and I couldn’t comb I had to get locs. The locs been gone and I have to deal with my hair but thanks to you, I know what to do and my hair is growing . I truly thank you for these videos .
You’ve taught so much important stuff about how to take care of hair and give it the live it deserves so thank you for that your content is so informative and is also entertaining as well ❤️
I just love watching jen take care of her hair. I dusted my hair today just bcz u did lol but youve helped me alot sis and we both have fine 4c hair i just thoroughly enjoy videos like these😍
Please don't stop filming wash day routines! I know you have a few on your channel, but I just love watching them. And I am sure I am not the only one ^^
I neglected my hair for a month then prepooed it a week ago and was supposed to wash it the next morning.... That didn’t happen 😐 So I’m just washing it today and giving it some much needed love
Like you’re legit my best friend in my head lol! I thoroughly enjoy watching your vids and learn so much! For once...a TRUE 4C guide...THANK YOU so much!!!!🤗
I so love your energy. I watched your video on how to trim my ends and Sis!!!!! It worked. The dead ends had to go! I’ve been on the natural hair journey for 4 months. I have 4C hair so you’ve been my inspiration. Thanks girl!
My natural hair journey, well, I just hit 1 year. I'm not altogether loving the natural thing yet. I keep it in protective styles because I'm not sure what to do with it in the natural state. Yes, it takes 4ever to wash, condition, etc. Oh well, I plan to keep at it. Oh, I forgot to mention that I haven't cut my perm out yet, so I have the stringy ends. I can see that my natural is growing really well.
If I don't wash my hair every 1-2 weeks, my face starts to feel gross and I feel like I'm going to break out. So, my face is my constant reminder and I can't ignore it. And yes. Music is a must on wash day..lol
I've been browsing through natural hair channels and I never found the right one... but this channel is now my home♥️♥️ same hair texture and everything I love you 🥺🥺🤗
I watched your how to moisturize 4c hair a few weeks back and it really put me on a path of better caring for my own 4c hair. It was a step that I had overlooked when I did my big chop right after New Year’s Day. Thank so much.💕💋
You for real Ms. Jackson. I can see the snap your hair, how it moved etc, I could practically feel the softness. I agree it's best to leave our hair care until we're in a good mood. Otherwise our poor hair will be abused.
I agree that watching you do your hair is relaxing. I usually twist my hair up when I prepoo but I get lazy and I don't retwist it to shampoo, apply my ayurvedic mask, or to deep condition but now I think I will start doing that.🙂 I have been enjoying wash day since I have been regulary preepooing, using scalp scrubs, doing hot oil treatments, and ayurvedic masks.
I’m struggling with single strand knots and split ends! Whenever I trim my hair it seems like I’m not doing it correctly or not trimming enough off 🥴 I will keep trying tho 😩 I’ve also been pre-pooing the last two wash days and keeping everything in sections so we’ll see how that helps as I continue that habit. My grandma actually used to give me a pre-poo treatment every week when I was relaxed in middle school and my hair was so healthy! Idk why we stop the good things😅
Prepooing is so important especially after protective styles. I usually wash my hair every 2-3 weeks but I don't add a lot of products besides on wash day. I thought I was shedding a lot of hair on wash days but I see from your video it is normal. Keep these videos coming!
Skipped wash day on Sunday, hair ended up In a really cute hairstyle anyway😂 But I'm washing at the end of the week, i promiiiiise, it's been a month since I washed Fluffy Keilly(thats her name😂) . The scalp Is okay but I'll still wash anyway🤞🤞😹 I love you because you're so transparent and your content is always on point 😘
I sooo enjoyed this video...really relaxing. Your hair is so moisturized and long. I can't wait to attain your hair length. I big chopped a year and 5 months ago and my hair is only in the 8 to 9 inch range.
I just followed your trimming tutorial planning on taking part in your winter protective style challenge even though I'm heading to summer down here wish me luck 🤞🏾
omw we are definitely in the same boat .. I've had my hair in braids cause I've just gt so lazy to deal with it 😩!! thank u so much for this video! its definitely gna help when I do decide to deal with my hair
I love how detailed this video is!!...my hair lacks volume and I’ve tried different things but they don’t seem to be working...I’ve been retaining length a bit these days which was also a struggle but I can’t seem to unlock making my hair full
Thank you for "schooling" me on how to care for my nappy hair. My hair journey has begun thanks to you...I'll be stoked if my hair can actually grow...
Miss Jackson 😅 I touched her digitally, she does feel good🤩 , I love this video and that you literally have our backs as to what to do when we have been ignoring her to revive her back to life💜💜💜 thanks sis🌹 Jenn🤩 how long do styles generally last? And how do you keep them alive for maybe like a full week so you can slay, without re-doing them during the week, while moisturizing her still ? Styles like the flat twist out, bantu knot out, that one sided frohawk twist out you did🤗?
Well I know we all have ignored our hair at least once... Life happen.. I bought the innatelife hair treatment since watching your video on the brand. I bought it for my mom first and then I sample it. I needed my own container.
I just gave birth and completely ignored my hair. It didn't move. I had asked my followers on ig to come do my hair 🙃 lmao I feel ya girl. Great video. Bff in my head. 🇨🇦 in the building, Toronto!
Your hair looks exactly like mine. Hair twin!! A nice DIY deep conditioner with avocado, honey, banana and some oils works magic for me when I’ve neglected it and it’s extra dry!
Wow, that’s a long time. I’m feeling guilty for not doing my normal wash on the fourth day. I’m definitely washing it today after seeing this. For me, not shampooing after a week is ignoring it lol.
Hair journey is going well just would like to see more growth towards the front of my head. Need a bonnet like that in my life where did you get it? Have you ever done yarn twists?
I use the African Pride oil for a hot oil pre-poo. I mist my hair, apply the oil, put on a plastic cap and top it off with my hot head cap. Seems to work okay.
Curly Chemistry has a really good video on why you should use oils instead of conditioner for prepoo and pretty much why you should not wet your hair first
I’m so glad my cousin referred me to your channel. We are hair twins but you actually take care of your hair haha lol. I’m learning a lot and my kids are watching these videos too.
I've been having the same issue with my skin as well. Based on my endless research everything points to compromised skin barrier. A gentle cleanser, niacinamide serum, hyaluronic acid serum and moisturiser like Cera ve moisturising cream or first aid Beauty ultra repair cream can really help (don't forget spf at daytime). Stay away from any chemical/physical exfoliation for a good 3 weeks or so before incorporating an active and you should see an improvement. It worked for me. Hope it does for you, good luck🤗
Me too. I've really been concentrating on making my hair more healthy dince quarantine. My protective style at the moment is just twists all around my hair on my wash day since I don't go anywhere lol. 😂
JJ!!girl I loved every video,I just love the fact that we have the same hair type, well I hope lol,I am in my 7months hair transitioning, and girl,am still learning, thanks for the lovely video, am all the way from eSwatini (Swaziland )
Been dying to comment on your videos but I had this youtube go app that wouldn't allow me to comment...... But here I am really love your videos and usually use them as my guidance for my Ugandan 4C hair🤣🤣
Gurl your hair looks great as always🔥... I have major issues with Fairy knots/single strand knots 😭 they are the bane to my existence lol... Any tips on preventing them?
I absolutely love dry detangling, it's been so good to my hair and I get way less breakage than when I prepoo and detangle with a conditioner and my hair is wet
I just started doing prepoo after watching your videos and damn does it make a difference along with sectioning your hair when you wash it. My hair was pulled out and clean but it didnt feel stripped. Thanks so much.
I plan on getting the ez detangling brush to minimize breakage & I plan on making my own hair moisterizer with shea & mango butter & aloe vera & my hair oil mixture to keep my hair moisterized & put away for the upcoming fall & winter ..... & I might buy some botin .
I enjoy watching you take care of your hair Jenn because it inspires me to also take care of my 4c hair♥️ Tomorrow is wash day for me😋And I've recently started preepooing because of u and it's working wonders for my hair🎉🎊😁
I absolutely can not use water to detangle it shrinks way too much and tangles back instantly and I’m high porosity so it gets wet quick and dry quick. I do what naptural85 said years ago, saturate with coconut oil then saturate with conditioner, BEST combo. And the water based product doesn’t shrink my hair as much as water alone would
Thank you so much for sharing ❤️ ....I really appreciate you sharing how much hair you shed (and sharing the time frame since your last wash day). I found that really helpful. Please keep the videos coming ❤️
Lol I'm just like you, I feel like I've conquered the world when I treat and moisturize my hair and swing my twists back and forth feeling all juicy and whatnot. 😂
@@JennJackson Exactly. Many people dread wash days and in this case I understand cause I've been there plenty of times 😂 but nowadays I LOVE wash days.
It's so funny my face is breaking out exactly the same as yours mostly on that one side of my face and on my chin. But I don't usually break out much at all. And I don't have to go out wearing a mask very often. It started a little over a month ago and I couldn't figure out why. I was trying to get rid of dark spots and i think I might have irritated my skin barrier (from some articles I read). So for now I'm just being gentle with my face and patient until the skin barrier heals and it goes away on its on.
I just purchased the imonatural coconut leave in conditioner & the imonatural vanilla buttercream body & hair cream. I plan to try them for the first time on my 4c hair sometime this week after I wash & condition it.
👋🏼❤ the energy. 👍 I use cantu kids leaving conditioner + olive oil to preepoo[ detangle]. I do the overnight thou. I get the best slip with this combo. I have high density .course 4c hair and it works.😃
