Excellent Gene as usual !!! That's one great caricature face and thanks for going the extra mile to explain in detail ways of changing up a design. Sorry you had to suffer all the noise lol. ATB.
Hi Gene .Been looking at and studding Tom Hannas figures, specially the way he does the quick loose eyes and sockets but can't figure the sequence of the cuts for them. Have you studied the sequence, because I love the loose shorthand version he does. ATB. Pete
Pete ..Tom Hannah's style is almost impossible to copy ..I have never seen anyone do it ..Iam sure you can get close to his face looking similar ..But the way he cuts and does his figures are so unique .. Its almost impossible to copy .. I find that amazing
i just subscribed, i like your work, i just started carving and bought some bass wood, but its like bell metal, does it need soaking, my knifes are flex cut razor sharp, thank you.
If your basswood is that hard ..then somethings wrong ..I have got basswood thats bad and almost impossible to carve ..but I bought it from a guy who I didnt know ..Try Heincke Wood on the web ..the best basswood around ..If your basswood is that bad ....then you need to chunk it ..its not worth using ..Sorry
Great videos !!!! Could you tell me where I can purchase the Mike Shipley hillbilly Rough out ?? I don’t have a band saw . Thank you my friend in advance
Gene, your videos are VERY good except when it comes to carving the eyes. It didn't help me at all. I couldn't see the cuts. We need to see the cuts on the carving so it's realistic! The noise didn't bother me at all!
