I just tried the freezer method (froze it overnight), put a folded kitchen towel on the counter and a couple taps and the wax came out whole! Thank you for your video!

I love this! I think what I'm going to do is chop my candles up like that, triangle shapes prob, and store some in the cleaned out jar ( because I love the labels/jars out on my dresser) then put the rest in a bag like that. Lovely idea, I like the way you did that,

Melting is my newest addiction (I’m a little late to the game 🤣) been trying to figure out what to do with my BBW candle stockpile and this video is inspired! Tried it first freezing the candle to get it out of the jar and was so disappointed with all the cracking that I ended up melting them and pouring into ice cube trays (wasn’t a fan of this for a few reasons). Anywho, discovered on accident yesterday that freezing is entirely unnecessary! Get a silicone pot holder (square one not a mitt that is pretty thick, mine looks like honeycomb ) and put it on your counter, turn candle upside down and bang bang bang on the silicone cushion and the candle slides right out. A few took some extra shaking after getting stuck halfway. As a bonus most of them came out with the wicks still stuck in the jar, not the candle, so no digging the wicks out. Works with half burned ones too! All came out perfectly intact. Now I have a ton of beautifully cut wax chunks.

I love the little pie slices too...Been cutting up my 3 wicks as well but I'm gonna microwave mine the next time because yours came out much nicer! Sorry to hear about your back, I can soooo relate. The last time I saw a chiropractor he jacked up my neck and back and they've never been the same since😕 that was 8 years ago now. I sure hope yours feels better soon Girlfriend 💕

I just chunked up a bunch of my candles, too. I usually leave the wax intact in the jar but I just needed some jars out of my life. lol What a job! I didn't microwave mine, though, so it was a bit messier than in your video! I am melting Harry this morning, which I just received yesterday, and you are so right about that one! Love it! Interestingly, I was not a fan of Campfire Donut. Something about it was off to me. I liked it better on cold than melted. I kinda think it was that sweet note. Now with Harry, I don't get the breadiness a ton on warm, it just seems to add more depth to the blend. I may need to pick up some French Baguette on its own to add to different things.

I love the uniformity of the little pie slices but I prefer smaller pieces so I can add more or less as needed. You chop them up so neatly, makes me want to microwave mine before I chop them up next time, I always make a giant mess.

Isn't it so soothing to chunk them up...😌❤ try the medical/ latex free etc gloves from Walmart just wear on left hand sometimes it helps...

Hi, I'm new here! I do NOT like some type of chemical smell that is in the air when some candles r being burned. It bothers my throat & feels clogging sometimes...But I love to burn candles. Sometimes I look for ones that r soy made candles. Thanks for the info. Very interesting & plausible statement/idea about kerosene maybe being on BBW wicks... Wow 😳😲🙊

@ScentJunkie03 Do you find that the candles last longer as wax melts than when you burn them as a candle or is it about the same? Does the wax evaporate as a wax melt like it does when it's a candle or will the scent dissipate first leaving the wax behind? Thank you for your tutorial. I definitely think this is easier than pouring it into molds to make wax melts. I feel your method may actually be the least wasteful. I wouldn't want left over wax in my pouring cup to be trashed.

Thanks for watching! The wax doesn't evaporate when melted; only when burning. You're left with wax when the scent is gone. I think I get way more life/use out of melting them vs burning them.

Teresa Tifor2 The bakery bags are usually polypro lined, so it's more about your preference. I like the seal of the bags vs the fold over top of bakery bags.

I hear ya sista! I get subscribers who are always disappointed in me and my lack of candle hauling/burning. You’re absolutely correct! I too have been having such poor burns with my BBW candles and my local discount stores are not stocking a lot of DW Home candles ugh! I just filmed a BBW chopping video (not uploaded yet). I am going to have to try your method as it’s way more tidy/clean than my method. I’m totally going to warm mine a bit! Thanks for taking the time to show us your method!😀~Kim

CanadaKim1978 Hey! Happy Easter! In BBW empties videos where I show candles that I actually burned, I will occasionally get comments that say, "I'm really glad to see you burning candles again." They make me feel guilty, which isn't fair. It really shouldn't bother me though. It's my choice how to use my candles. I'm spending my money for them. I got one of the campfire donut candle honestly it's a good bakery scent which can be mixed with a variable of other scents. Do you melt any of these in scentsy warmers? I only have scentsys warmers and I'm afraid that they might not be strong enough to melt? I have warmers that are 25 watt, 20 watt and 15 watt.

Lilia Solis I don't think any of my bulb warmers are from Scentsy, but I don't know because a couple were gifts. I think BBW wax would do just fine in them though.

The burn on my pink bubble gum sucked. I have about 4 more that I will chop up. Basically most of my recent bbw candles have had issues. The only time I’m buying is on candle day with a coupon. Not worth paying for candles that won’t even burn.

I told myself when CanadaKim did her BBW video a couple months ago that I would start doing this with my BBW stash, yet I still haven't but have dealt with dud after dud since. This time I will take the inspiration and start. I think some small vendor or something could make a killing if they made replacement wicks that actually work for BBW candles so we could all use them as candles again. I have burned through two Pink Bubblegums and they were both decent burns, so hopefully your other one will be good when you burn it. Love that one so much. Oddly, it was the only candle I could smell last time I was stuffed up.

Do you have to store them in special polypropylene bags you have to order or can you just use regular ziplocks from the grocery store? I think they are also made of polypropylene.

Yes, you need polypropylene to store them properly so that the oils don't seep into the plastic. Ziplocs are not polypropylene, so they aren't safe to use.

Hey there! Thanks for this. I have noticed that kerosene smell with fruit or burnt with bakery. I thought it was because I but ed it too long. I love the ambiance but they disappoint at times. I haven't really been buying since I have so many. Moving makes u think. Plus owning a house now, my money for candles goes else where. How long do they last in the plastic bags? I stored a bunch of tarts in Ziploc bags and they were ruined. Thanks for the info 😊

Generally, yes. Every now and then you'll get a candle that is light either way.

@@karenshaffer7803 I don't show my warmers in this video but I just use any wax warmer. You can purchase them at Target, Walmart, Michael's, etc. I like hot plate warmers the best. As for the throw, the ones I've melted have done well. I've only melted 1 or 2 that has been light.

I wish I have seen your video earlier. I bought 2 Candy Cane candles from BBW. I love how it smell in the jar but it smells horrible when burned. I returned them and now I regret it because i could have turned them into melts.....sad

how many times do you heat up the candle before cutting it up?

I do it 3 times. I usually do 30 seconds, flip it over and do another 30 seconds, and then flip it back again and do another 25-30 seconds. It can vary from your microwave though. Start out with less until you figure out what works for you.

Hi there, me again. I'm having a problem getting my candles out of the jars once frozen. Do you think they glue the wicks differently now? Any advice or should I just freeze them for longer? I've had them in the freezer about half an hour now. Thanks in advance for any advice :-)

Hi! I would try this trick: flip the jar upside down and tap it on a countertop/table that has a towel laid down on it.. The towel will give cushion so you don't break the glass. If it doesn't work, put it in the freezer for another 30 min and try again.

I wouldn't because polypropylene bags help seal in the oils, but if you're going to melt them quickly I'm sure you could.

I explain it all in this video, but I freeze them for about 20 minutes, tip them over in my hand and tap. The candle pops right out. If it doesn't, put it back in the freezer a little longer.

No, they need to be polypropylene or they'll suck the fragrance oil from your wax.

Wouldn’t it make more sense chopping the candles as you use them or am I just an idiot lol. I mean I think that’s what I would do. I’m still burning a ton, I’m melting but haven’t tried any vendors but Candles by Victoria years ago. Any new spring fragrances your enjoying from bbw I’ve been shopping but not a ton. Incense is good .

ScentJunkie03 yeah it’s just easier for me to forget about the warmer. Have you ever returned candles for money rather than exchanging? My upstairs neighbor is getting nauseas from my burning blueberry pie and I don’t like a few others. Can’t wait for your post burn reviews of salted pretzel milkshake and bbp. I hated Ciao Bella so I want my money back. I had no idea Campfire Donut had a different name before. I actually suggested they rename w croissant in my review video and now I feel lame!
