I love melting my candles down; I buy my molds at the dollar store... usually I find molds that go with the season which is fun! Thanks for sharing Brenda!
Holy candles Batman! I thought I was over the top with 24 of them. I need to show my husband this video so he can see that another woman has a shit ton more than me. 🤣
Thank you for inspiring me with this. I did this a few times exactly as you did. But then I wondered if I could eliminate the need for the tart tray and measuring cup. I lined a 9" x 12" baking pan with wax paper and poured in all of the melted wax directly from the jar. The melted wax spreads out to about 1/2" thickness. After cooling for 20 minutes on the countertop, the wax is partially hardened but still soft enough to "score" with a butter knife into 2" squares. Then I place the pan into the freezer for 20 minutes more to fully harden the wax. When it comes out of the freezer, the 2" squares easily break apart where I scored them. I found that I can stack more of the squares into the quart sized wide mouth mason jars than I can when the wax is in the tart shape. And the 1/2" thick 2" squares are the perfect size for my wax melter. Cheers.
You can also get cheap silicone ice cube trays (lots of designs and shapes if you're into the look of the tart) at the Dollarstore, and the tarts are super easy to pop out when they've cooled. Thanks for sharing, I enjoy your channel!
Your video is by far the most helpful one for converting my candles to melts. I don't have open flames in my house anymore. Thank you so so so much for a game-changing way to get my house scented :)
Very well thought through, thanks for the step by step! May have to do this with my Georgia Peach as the wicks are getting weird but I love the scent. They look so cute stored in the jars and the candle glass, thanks! May have to go get a pan and some jars etc.
So tempted on doing this. I have a 3 year old and I don't really like the extra unsafe fumes we get from burning candles lol I am so jelly of that collection.!!!
+Melanie Butler Thank you!! I like helping people out when they are trying to do something. If I have already messed something up share so others don't. Apparently making a mess is entertaining to me!!
Hi! Great and informative video!!! You have given me awesome ideas for all the candles that I have and I really love your method and I have to say that this is probably the best method to getting more use out of candles and really releasing the scents of candles properly this is much better than just the conventional burning candles method. Anyway I have a request. Can you please make a video of you doing all of this and going through the whole process of making your B&BW candles into wax melts. I really would love to see how you do that so I can learn and start doing that myself. I’m more of a visual learner so I have to see how you do it before I start to do it myself. That would be really helpful!! Thank you!!!
Brenda you tickle me. I love ur videos. This is a great idea. I think this will be my summer project. Taking all my candles and making tarts. I have summers off so this would be the perfect time and another project is cleaning soot of my walls and painting so I definitely don't want to burn very much if any candles. Tfs. 🤗
Very informative, thanks for the tips! I have always been wondering how people did this! I am going to have to invest in a warmer with a removeable plate because I am so over the puny wick scandal! lol
+CandleCafe I am so over puny wicks and candles with no scent. If I threw every one of them that I had problems with in the front yard I would look like I had a candle garden!!! I always get mad and want to throw it out the front door. Good thing I have control because the neighbors would have me committed by now!!
You can get the yankee candle scenterpiece warmer. They have easy meltcups that come with pre poured wax in them. So what I do is pop them in the freezer when the throw is gone, toss the wax, clean the container so there's no residual scent, and put in other melts in the cup and pop that in the warmer.
GREAT VIDEO! Michael's may still have that Ashland warmer for $4.99 (they did on Tuesday). I do my tarts the same way but I use silicone molds and a separate kitchen plug in skillet. GREAT TIPS!
Great video and that is a good idea especially with the measuring cup because I would of probably made the same mistake and learned the hard way. Also I am so tired of getting puny wicks from BBW as well as Yankee Candle and the Yankee Candles are not cheap. I love the scent but they get to where they do not want to burn a brand new candle and it just has a very low light on it and I thought something was wrong with the wicks lately on the candles. Good to know instead of throwing my candles away.
+Nicky Roberts I was sick of PWS but after I saw my ac filter and then put in a new one and a week later checked it and all I had been doing was melting and my filter was still white I am definitely going to be melting candles. There are a few that I will have to burn but most will be melted!!
I am also doing this as I don't want open flames in the house. I had a terrible habit of walking out with candles still lit. Now I don't have to worry!
+Bernadette Mcmahon My thing is I just got a new ac unit last spring and I have gone through about six filters at $25 a filter. It is just isn't worth it especially if they aren't burning any better than they are!!
Just found your channel & subscribed and wow what an amazing collection you have behind you I’d love to see it in detail, also I spy babies down there’s on the bottom right corner....I’d love to see your babies as well 😊
I will need to find some trays to do this with my candles.. I've noticed the last few that I've burned, when they get about half way down all I can smell is the wick burning, I hate that, I just want my yummy scent to come through... Thanks so much for the video, very helpful!
+Trisha Wilson I got the mini muffin tray at Walmart for $5.99. I hear you with the candles burning poorly so I decided to do this to at least get some good scent out of them when they are melting!!
I love your wax warmer, where did you get it? and what color is it? It's kinda hard to tell. Do you check your wicks before you buy your candles, I'm sure you do, just don't understand why you keep getting pws. lol. So all those bath and body candles your going to melt down? No worries. I was just curious. I definitely love wax melts, but I could never give up burning my candles, because yes I love the ambience. I have ocd too. I feel your pain. It can be very difficult some days, others not so much. Is yours just dealing with like germs and stuff, cuz if that's the case your house must be spotless !! lol. I'm so happy because I just got unlimited data on my phone, so now I can watch even more of you !! Love you Brenda !
+Jenn S You're welcome!! I didn't know if it would be something that anyone was interested in but I figured if it helped one person not make the same mistakes that I did it was worth it.
+Jenn S I use a paper towel to wipe it out while the wax is still warm in it and the put soap and hot water in it to get it cleaned out before it sets. I try to work fast so that won't set up in the cup. If it hardens on there I will probably set it on the warmer to get it to melt again and then use the paper towels again.
+Jenn S I have been too slow as well. Dried wax is a pain for me. I wasn't paying attention last week when I dropped another cube in melted wax. I dropped an inch or two above the melted wax and of course it went all over my counter. I like to never have gotten that off the counter!! Lesson learned!!
I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but I saw wax melts on the Bath and Body Works website. They only have a few scents. Have you tried them yet?
+lisa fiveash I leave mine uncovered over night. I just put it some place that is out of the way so I won't have a run in with it. I am a master mess maker!! I knew if I tried it first I could save people steps on what not to do!! I used to drive my parents nuts with things I have the ability to do without trying and unfortunately most aren't good things!!😂😂
Andrea Mason Dollar Tree has labels you can purchase. I buy them and label everything I change up. I even do it when I buy meat in bulk. You can get quite a bit log labels in a pack if you buy just the plain ones. They do have fancy ones but you don't get many labels in a pack!!!
That’s a lot of candles behind you, why are you buying them if your just gonna turn them to melts? Why are you just not buying melts? Seems like somebody has an addiction to buying candles :)
S C I was just at the store and priced everything out. So you can get 4oz of wax tart for the same price as buying a 14oz candle, so if you’re willing to to put the effort you get an extra 10oz making them yourself. Plus some people like to buy the candles for collecting 😊
What the fricken heck!!!!! I was enjoying this video but then it hit 9 minutes and there wasn't no melting or pouring yet. I was looking forward to a full melting tutorial. I strongly hope you consider adding to the title or description that there is no melting only talking. Have an okay day but not a great one. Goodbye.
