Current living situation prevents me from having an aquarium but watching videos like this one helps keep interested in the hobby. Keep up the great work Joey!
The best parts of my week are these videos. Keep it up! Thanks for all the entertainment, knowledge and ideas. I just recently set up a 35 gallon aquarium and with everything I've learned through these videos it's the best aquarium I've ever owned!
I really appreciate how often you post and how reliable you are with your video schedule!! its always a good day when I wake up to a joey video to watch in Australia!!! thank you for all the education and entertainment!! Obsessed with your gallery!
Amazing videos! I'm not a fish keeper. And, I enjoy learning so much from your channel. I'm learning about fish, aquariums, back-room equipment, and the passion you have for your collection. Feeding, aqua-scaping, isolation for new fish, introduction of fish to their new environment, etc. You are SO commited to your hobby. When do you have the time to take care of your amazing body? Are you lifting full aquariums with each arm in your spare time? Your work-out exercises are definitely working. Your T-shirts demonstrate your commitment to your hobby. Great videos!
Yes we want to see how you manage the cost for the aquarium!! It looks super costly, just by how much water is required and all the electric bills. I am so inspired by your drip system I want to set up a new tank with it for my forever-growing pleco fish.
He's on a well so there is no water bill. I imagine the electricity is a factor but he's built it to be as efficient as possible so I bet it's not too bad. I've been thinking about a drip system myself, it sounds like a great idea and I could do it on my biggest tank.
Thanks for showing your filter and piping setup! I've been wondering how you had it all setup! Can't wait to see the rest of the tanks filters and piping too! :)
Joey, please make your 2000g look like the inside of an Amazonian river basin?! A moss background wall would also be awesome and I hope to see a lot of plant projects similar to Dennis Wonng from you because you have the ability to do so and a lot of people use your channel as a learning resource and personally I feel like you haven't nearly touched on anything real about planted aquariums yet there's so much awesome stuff to it. Big fan, mate!
i like every video you make, and i know how busy you are currently with the gallery. but some good old fashion DIY videos would be awesome. but i also love Frank- so Frank videos would be cool too :) love you work, keep it up
Thanks for posting this. I've been wondering about some of it, and I love to see how things work (and how you've adapted once things are up and running).
Can i suggest like a small bog filter pond outside the gallery. You know just to clean and make the water from the gallery re useable. I mean just saying like gallons of water is wasted, creating a bog filter pond can add scenic beauty to you're yard and also a place for the kids to play n swim in the hot summer days, not to mention that you could go into a new topic of the hobby as well..... Just a though 😊
Hi Joey I'm from the UK I'm also a fish keeper I have a cold water tank and a tropical tank I also like simplicity when it comes to cleaning like yourself. I just wanted to comment and say keep up the good work your doing with the fish. 😊
Joey, I love everything you do for your viewers, keep it up! I've been subscribed for a couple years now and still enjoy watching every video you post. This channel has blown up in the past year and I like how you "keep it real" and show how easy being a fish keeper can be for anyone. Best of luck with the Aquarium Gallery I think I speak for everyone when I say I'm looking forward to seeing what you're planning for the rest of the racks!
That is amazing how you've figured out the mechanics of keeping such a large tank without hours and hours of backbreaking work to keep it going. Thanks for a very informational video - or thanks again because they are all great! :)
Thanks for talking a lil more about the 2000g it answer a lot of questions about your filtration system i honestly thought it was more complicated to clean it up
I've been watching your videos for a couple of months now and let me tell you that you're single-handedly responsible for getting me to want to set up an aquarium at my place (Previously I never even thought I'd entertain such an idea). Now that you got me hooked to the idea of setting one up, I'm in the planning phase (investigating the market, available equipment, food sources, etc...) Looks like it's gonna be a 105 gallon community tank, which I plan to have ready to stock by February 2018. Great work and keep it up.
Joey, mate, you make it look easy. I remember doing the water changes for my dad's parrot fish tank and it was the size of one of your wall tanks, but it was quite a bit of work. I do miss doing it though; poor little fella got sick and passed on.
If Joey can clean a 2000G aquarium and still be enthusiastic about it, I think I should start at least doing my bed...maybe as from tomorrow...or next week...
You made the water change and clean up look super easy! I'm sure it's a little harder than it looks! Love the water going into yard!!! Good way to add to your back yard!!! Love your set ups! I did enjoy the video! Thanks for all the knowlege and information that you always share!!!
Joey I am seriously a massive fan! I have been subbed for years now and I have watched every single video you have made! I really hope I get to see you in London! My wife hates you FYI because she thinks I love you and fish more then her lol.
Thanks Joe i have been waiting for some" behind the scenes " type of stuff i also breed reptiles and am trying to make my own control system so i would love to see your lighting and heating systems in more detail especially the software. Look forward to your videos every week keep up the good work :)
Excellent video!! Very, very informative. I love behind the scenes aquarium hands on demos. Presently have a 29 gal. freshwater tank with a beautiful angelfish (queen of the tank) and some smaller platies, mollies and tetras. You inspire me to keep my tank clean. Thanks.
I like the automatic drip system! Also, the algae also shows that your tank is healthy. Green glass algae is what I usually look for when setting up a new tank. Once I see green glass algae, I know that the tank is out of the woods in terms of the nitrogen cycle.
you or your family should start a garden and use the fish water as irrigation/nutrients. It's soooooo good for plants! And very good system. Have you ever looked into aquaponics?
Joey. I still can't believe, you don't get in. If it was my tank, I'd definitely be in there with scuba gear. Amazing. Greats vids. Can't wait to see you in london. One question. How do you dechlorinate with a drip system?
I would've thought that the cleaning process would be much more difficult. I thought you would have to get inside the aquarium and clean the walls. Very efficient!
Loving all the videos cant wait to see what the last tanks become are you still going to make 2 into saltwater aquariums one a reef tank with coral and coral friendly fish and the other one a saltwater Predator tank I think that they would look cool
Ive got a totally unrelated question for Joey. First off loving your DIY video's, your enthusiasm is really contagious. Now im thinking of building my own tank but sadly plexiglass/acryllic is extremely expensive here(The Netherlands) so i was looking into polycarbonate sheets as they are allot cheaper. Now i know they are stronger then plexiglass but there is very little information on it beeing used for aquariums. Do you know of its safe to use or if there's a reason not to use it?
Great video. Have you ever considered using a 'swirl filter' to remove solids from your system. I have used them in aquaponic systems and they work very well.
Hey, I have an idea and I don’t know how many people will like/agree on this but maybe you can make a channel and live stream the fish or something inside the water? I know this sounds weird n’all but yea. What do you think? I personally as a fan would love this!
Ted Michel he doesn't use any treatment on his tanks I think he has own well and all his water is from this well so he doesn't has to remove any chlorine etc. And in my opinion that's all anybody has to remove from the water fish are mostly bred in not natural conditions they get use to any water parameters without any special treatment. I have 20 plus years of experience never used chemical water treatment.
