I'm not a 'fishkeeper'! AND... I enjoy watching every video you create. It's exciting for me to experience your enthusiasm, and the love and care you have for your fish. I continue to learn so much from watching your videos. Keep sharing your amazing energy ! Well done!
I also should mention that you inspired me . I put my foot down with my husband and brought in my 50 gallon tank from the garage as well as set the indoor pond up again . My koi are in for winter which I had stopped , he is not into fish , and built my own filters from your videos . So thanks .
Enjoyable Video ! I have been following for several years and you're the main reason I just built a 1210 gallon DIY Plywood Aquarium/Sump System.. You really had a friendly way about you here.. I have 3 large Uaru, and the romaine doesn't have a chance when it goes in the tank.. I also am kinda feeling your Angels are my favorites..
The angel fish tank has turn out awesome. My father and l both raised it in the past I think I am going to get another tank and do it again. You’ve reminded me of how beautiful they are
I accidentally sent a really long reply before saying I really enjoy seeing and learning about all of the fish on this site, and I’ve taken the info to learn more about the different species from google sites. I have to mention I started learning about arowana and the beautiful diamond and pearl rays. Still, I’m reading more and more about flowerhorn fish. Thx, Joey, and THX FRANK!
i do believe you just told us what ur building in the workshop! its a frank tank, plus i'm thinking its going to be part of ur desk(coffee table type desk/tank), yeah, i got a wild imagination hehehe... my top 5 of ur fish :- 1, Ornate Bichir. 2, Red Arowana. 3, Leopoldi Stingrays. 4, Peacock Cichlids. 5, Clown fish...
Gotta say normally i am a big cichlid big fish or peacock guy but that angel fish tank just gets me every time it is DEFINITELY my favorite aquascap of yours in the gallery they do look stunning i there plants wood its all great ! having said that when it comes to fav fish it's not even close FRANK in any tank FTW !!!! (does not hurt i have gloden fader flowerhorn similar sized either lol !)
my favorit top 3 1. Frank 2. Frank 3. stingrays on equal place with the arowana , i don't usually like arowans but this one i like the best from the arowanas i seen
Frank is the coolest fish, I am going to get a tank so I can get a flowerhorn. He is adorable and a great mascot for you! Please keep him in the showroom. Everyone adores him!
Joey, is there a chance you would ever keep Puffers??? I have been watching you a very long time, and honestly I have never heard you talk about them. likes? dislikes?
Love the cichlids and angels! I'm redoing a 150 gallon tank to put angels in. I'm making a background and other things from your videos. You have inspired me. God bless!
As of now the little ray is my favorite, but that would change if you brought back your fancy goldfish. There color would be amazing in your fish room.
It’s really a pleasure to see your videos. Your aquariums are so amazing and you look so... I don’t know, some people would feel just ok after so much time having aquariums and amazing fish But you’re like so much excited about what you’re doing even if it’s been already so much time you do it. It makes your videos waaaaay better that some other youtubers.
The rays and arowana are still my favs. Both are putting on a lot of size! Outside of those, surprisingly, I really like the African Cichlid and Angel Fish tanks. And then there's the rainbow fish tank, which is just incredible on its own.
Please do a saltwater tank. I know you talked about it a long time ago, but im really interested in seeing the possibilities for a saltwater tank that isnt massive or really small.
Gallery is looking great. I think most of your fish choices have been spot on. I feel a mixed rainbow tank would look a bit more pleasing than one solid species. But not my tank, just my opinion. Your a viking in the hobby, keep it up. Hope we still see a little salt in the future.
My top 5: 1. Bichir 2. Malawi Cichlids 3. Arowana 4. Angelfish 5. Rainbow fish Also, when will you feed the Rays some live worms, like you mentioned earlier?
Hey Joey, why don't you set up a snake terrarium in one of those 110s. You might find you like having a reptile. I am definitely going to set up a Platinum Angel fish tank when I get a bigger place. I really like watching aquariums but haven't found a fish until I saw those angels that I felt I really wanted.
Love your enthusiasm... I'm really into my new gourami tank at the moment... My fave of your though....... Difficult...... But I'm going for the rainbows.... Ta ta...
Something I'd like to hear more about are the UV lights. I had some guppies outside this last summer and their colors ended up stunning. I initially attributed it to the food they were eating, but I've heard both you and Rachel O'Leary mention UV light as the cause. As a result I'm now interested in doing a UV led light, but I don't know where to even start.
You Ciclids have gotten so big! Your tanks are beautiful! I cant wait to be able to set up a angelfish tank! Im glad you make videos. I hope i can meet you one day!
Hey joey, joey here and would love for u to do a video about the bichir its a very interesting fish, just a thought. Love the vids. Dont ever stop very informative
Great update! Loving the platinum angels, that contrast works well, I’ve kept uaru as well but not long enough to see the black mark, had to take them back to the lfs. Your African cichlids are stunners as well 👍
Hi King of DIY. Enjoy watching your videos although I'm not in the hobby at all. Hoping you can help me understand. I noticed that most, if not all, have a current running through the tank(s). Was wondering why, and why such a strong current? Do you ever slow the current down? Hoping you can explain please. Sorry if you've explained it already in a previous video and I missed it . Thanks.
i love the idea of keeping the tank that the rainbows are in to a small fish only tank. i think having like 21-30 of maby 8-12 differnt types of 2 inch or less fish like tetra, rasbora, and killi (clown/lampeye) would be super cool looking in a huge tank
I once had 2 Jack Dempsey's Humphrey and Bogart who shared one aquarium to themselves. They didn't like newcomers (I found out the hard way) After about a year I lost Humphrey but Bogart lived on. He was so colorful. A fun fish... I know it wasn't the best food for him but I would hold a piece of raw hamburger about a half inch above the water and he would slowly swim to the top of the water then quicker than the eye jump out and snag that piece of meat right out of my fingers. His teeth were unbelievably big. He was about 4 inches when I had to give him away. Man he was tough. I remember once cleaning his aquarium and I dropped him about 4 feet to the kitchen floor and it hardly phased him. I put him in the aquarium and he went along like nothing happened. Lost touch with the person I gave him to. Hope he lived a long life... Just thought I'd share my story with you. I really enjoy your videos and your passion for these beautiful creatures. Thank you so much.
OOOOH, This could be like a weekly, biweekly, or monthly thing you do. Like top 5 favorite fish this week and do like a recap and feeding of those fish!
Thanks for an amazing video of your favs. There was NOT even 1 that I wouldn't be proud to own. Your tanks are immaculate, and the decor doesn't get any betta (got the pun eh)? Never seen a tank of only silver angels. Hopefully you will be able to ship me six or seven (6 or 7). What types of wood are you using in the Ouaru sp?and Angel tanks? Got a 95 gal sitting around until our remodel is done, and then I have to make a decision. Oh Joey?
I think he should find a way to put some bettas in there. They're pretty much the face of fishkeeping other than goldfish. But theres prob too many problems to deal with like the arowana tryna eat them lol.
Suggestion...feed your Discus beef heart mix by hand. That’s what I’ve always done with mine since they were 3”. They have always greeted me like a pack of hungry dogs.
My vote is split between the Angels and Frank.I feed my goldfish blanched Romaine lettuce as part of their diet, they can rip it to shreds and it gives my plants a chance lol!
My top 3 is: 1. The Uaru and Emperor Tetras tank (I like all of it.. and even the tetras) 2. The Angel Fish tank (and the scape) 3. The one with Cichlids you showed first
My favorite is the angel fish tank, they look awesome! The light and their white glory color made them look like real angels lol. And I also was thinking about the ghost thing, that would be scary. Coming down at night and forgetting their fish hahahah.
I know a 120 is too small but next bigger tank try some lower south region Lake Tanganyika Frontosa's and some Altolamprologus Compressiceps... maybe throw some varieties of Anubias and Buce for nitrate reduction...nice rock hardscape. Like mine... Love your vids Joey!
My fav tank is your Peacock tank I have an idea for you Why don't you fill 1 tank with a bunch of different species of Mbunas 1 with predatory haps And 1 with south and central americans Im talking Tiger Oscar parrot fish Red terror Green terror Red devil Midas Texas cichlid Jack Dempsey Convicts Fire mouth (BTW dont get bass they will eat some of the fish) Well atleast some of those
