Girl you made me cry at the end. That is EXACTLY how i feel. I remember about 8 years ago i was at work, and a little girl pointed to me and told her mom “that lady has polka dots on her face” and i have never forgotten that! I start accutane in 3 weeks and i can’t wait to feel how you feel ❤️ Thank you for sharing.
Awwww well I am both flattered and sorry you had to experience that as well. Kids (and adults) just never realize that words stick. I am so happy you are excited and on the journey to clear skin!!! :)
@@selinarslan9761 SO WELL! the first few days i had side effects like dry skin and extreme acne (basically the skin is purging all toxins and needs to release potential acne) but now my skin is so clear and smooth and colored evenly
I'm starting accutane in a month so I can't wait! If had such bad acne since I was 13 so I can't wait to finally be clear of this nasty burden! Thanks for the help❤
Thank you for this, I start in February and have been waiting for that moment for years. It’s so frustrating to work so hard on your skin but nothing helps. You’re beautiful
I just started my Accutane journey! I am so happy it cleared your skin so well it looks amazing and, this makes me so excited to finish mine. It is interesting that people notice a difference a couple months in. I am only on my 11th pill but I am expecting clear skin already 🥴. I need to be patient, haha. Thank you for sharing your story!
Awww I am so pumped for you!!! I hear you...I was so impatient for the results but they normally come anywhere from 2-4 months!!! I can't wait for you!
thank you for this video, it really helped me. I myself am considering going on accutane, and i think i’m going to do it now. I have been struggling with acne since I was 12 years old and i’m so sick of it haha! your skin is perfect! i’m so happy for you that you got your skin cleared up, it feels good to know that other people have had the same struggles i have. i’m so proud of you girl!!
Awwww thank you sooo much!!! I feel you and I was in the exact same boat as you!!! Oh my gosh thank you for the compliment! There are soo many people facing acne and you are NOT alone! I wish more people would support each other through this!
Thank you so much for this ♥️ You don’t understand how comforting it is to hear all of this from a person who went through a similar journey 🥰 Going on accutane soon so hopefully I don’t have acne my freshman year of college 😭
I had bad acne for like 4 years along with very oily skin. I gave Accutane a try and I was on it for 10 months! My skin is now very smooth and clear with hardly any scars. :)
Thank you so much for sharing your journey. I’ve had severe acne for over 1 and a half years now and my confidence is through the floor :( I’ve tried EVERYTHING, medications, topical lotions from the doctor, home remedies, shop brought lotions and cleansers, I went to a nurse too to have over £1k worth of micro needling and chemical peels and they all did nothing at all! I’m about to start accutane and I’m scared but SO so excited! I just pray this works 😭❤️
Of course and I know how you feel because I was there!!! That is exactly how I was feeling about everything. I was very scared to do accutane but I do NOT regret it one bit. I know that isn't everyone's experience but I couldn't recommend it enough. And it will work, just trust the process!
You look so beautiful, congratulations on finishing your journey and thank you for sharing it! It was very helpful. I started three weeks ago and I am so excited and cannot wait to see results, but at the same time I feel a little scared
Aww thank you and you are welcome!! I totally understand feeling scared but I can assure you that it is worth it!! And worse comes to worse you can stop at anytime!!
To new accutane users: Carry around carmex everywhere you go. The splitting bleeding lips were my worst side effects the first round. 2nd time around 10 years later it completely dried out my tear ducts. I have no tears and even tore my cornea because my eyes were so dry. BUT its a miracle drug. People that dont have cystic acne have no idea the horrors of living with it. Even with my side effects, i'd do it agian 10000 times.
I legit thought I was the only one ! Going number two hurts! I’m on month 3 almost month 4!!! I have had a lot of crazy side effects! I truly love how sweet and honest you where about your accutane journey !
Thank you sm for sharing this. Some People may not understand how brave of you it was to do this video. I’ve been struggling so bad and I’ve tried so many products and all they ever do is make my acne worse.💔 thank you for this
Awwww thank you so much!! It is challenging and most people don't realize the toll acne takes unless they actually have acne. Definitely head to your dermatologist and trust that they will help you out! If you are already going to a dermatologist and don't like them, head to a new one!
Great video ❤️. Never let acne stop you from doing the things you love. I hope whoever is suffering with acne right now heals fast. I just started my accutane treatment. I Will be back in a month with the review ❤️. Stay strong! You're beautiful.
I’m starting accutane for the 3rd time tomorrow. I’m 38, I started it at 16 which THANK GOD the acne was destroying my face. I didn’t have cystic, but I’m very pale, so the inflammation from the persistent moderate acne was so damn visible. I should have started it a year earlier but my mom wouldn’t take me to the derm. So it worked well, but acne came back a few years later but not as bad. I did it at 27 and it worked well for a few years. Doing it again, because acne took off a little worse in my 30s. They scare you to death of this medicine but I don’t know what I would have done without it in my teenage years. Also none of that topical stuff ever really works for people with real acne.
Fingers crossed this round works for you!!! I know this is such a hard struggle and cheers to you for being strong and pushing through!! For me, this was the best decision I made!
Heyyyy I am also about to start accutane very soon so, i am so scared and excited but this video really made me feel better thank u !!! U look so good and I appreciate how you talk openly about this
Your video is inspiring, and all too familiar! You have a wonderful, upbeat personality. Thank you for being so candid with your story. I started Accutane two weeks ago and needed this.
I started my isotretenoin journey for almost a month now and my acne is at its very very very worse and i know this is a part of the whole process (very ichy, sensitive, and dry always), i am thankful for these types of videos because most of the time we are going to have almost the same experiences and its really helpful for our mental and emotional strength. we got this. godbless
@@Abiha-n1l hello, so far so good. worth the time, the risk, money and effort. just be hygienic though., right now mine is still redness but skin is so dry i need to have my eye lubricant and lib balm at all times, plus sunscreen is a must. it's definitely worth it.
ik this video is kinda old but tysm for making this because today i took my first dosage and to see that you had barely any side affects makes me a lot less scared. i’m just rly excited to have clear skin because acne is my biggest insecurity so YAY it’s gonna be gone soon
just started Accutane last week and I've been struggling with acne for so long. so far I've been on it and my lips are super chapped and I get headaches every day. I love this video!! ur so pretty and im proud of ur acne journey!
Awww well thank you!!! I would recommend the Vaseline that comes in a squeezable tube! It helped SOOO much!! Aquaphor before bed was my secret weapon!!
thanks for the advice, I'm about to start my accutane journey. Kinda nervous because I'm an athlete. Probably going to make a video of the transformation!!!
I am so excited for you!! I am on a dance team and workout regularly so I understand the concern! I never struggled with fatigue or muscle aches but I made sure to go to bed on time, eat well, and drink lots of water. AND stretch!!!!
I have struggled with acne all throughout my teenage years. There were times it got better and times it got worse. I have been on Accutane since April of this year and can say it was totally worth it. My skin texture is so much better then it was before starting and all of my redness and scarring is healing. I avoided Accutane for the longest time due to the monthly bloodwork and extreme side effects. I only had dry lips, and some minor joint pain and that’s pretty much it. This drug works miracles, don’t listen to the bad things about it.
i am on month 1 today, just 5mg :( my dermatologist didn’t want me to go higher in beginning 🥲hahahah hope it will work!!!!!!!! ps.: happy new year, hopefully in this year we all get clear skin ❣️
It will definitely be the best feeling trust me. Yes, begin with lesser doses as your body needs to adapt to this drug. It took me about 6 months exact to get a clear af skin from a 7 year old acne filled skin😂💕 I had never thought that I would have a day where i would see a skin without acne❤️
Update: now I am on 20mg and 10mg. So on one day i Take 20mg and on the next day 10mg, on the next day 20mg.... my cheeks are soo bad, but my forehead is a bit better I think!!
Whenever i will feel down I'm gonna watch this video again because i have almost same history as yours, i tried almost everything that you mentioned in video
Once you get through this stage, it’s smooth sailing!!! Make sure to moisturize the heck out of your skin! (Which I’m sure you’re already doing but just can’t help myself but offer some help!)
the end when you were saying your acne makes you not be yourself, it 100% does. I find myself not wanting to talk as much because then people will look at me and see my skin, so i just stay quiet.
That is the hardest part. I was ironically looking through old pictures of myself with acne and I don't know how I did it everyday. You just have to remind yourself that acne is temporary (even though it doesn't feel that way) and to be confident. If you're confident, people will treat you that way!
Just a friendly reminder that yes Acne is a bitch, but people in this shit acne phase of themselves start hating themselves please don't do that .I have had severe acne for 3 years ,faced lot of comments and shit behaviour from other hence started hated myself at one point ,but finally started doing positive things in life ,and visited dermatologist and since one month it has improved a lot ,still a long journey to go .Just keep on making progress and believe the process ,pat on your back when needed, also don't forget to love yourself :).Good luck.
I was the exact same way! What helped me was realizing that you can always stop the medicine if the side effects are too bad! But that never happened for me!
@@jokesonyou222 heyy thank u ❤️it’s going great ! I have no active breakouts anymore but scars… I’m very happy how it’s going and the only side effects i’m experiencing is dry skin and lipstick
@@christinezechner2643 heyy! And of course ❤️! I’m so happy it’s going great and I’m so happy it’s brought you no active breakouts I’m hoping to go on it soon but I have to talk to my dermatologist and see what she says ! and I’m so happy you’re happy with how it’s going and I’m glad those are your only side effects ! I hope my dermatologist lets me go on it because my acne is starting to get cystic and actually physically hurt so I really want to go on accurate ! Did you purge at all ? How was the process and when did your skin really start improving ?
Was on it twice. Still alive 20y later, happy, healthy......perfect skin.... Only issue: permanently *dry skin* after the 2nd course. Permanently.....not super-dry, but dry (used to be super oily)
You are beautiful! I've been on Oratane for about a week, no results yet but definitely have dry lips. I've never struggled with acne but at the age of 27 my back, neck and face broke out in cyctic/hormonal acne. I'm hoping for the best as I don't really like wearing foundation. I must say the only thing I am scared of is the effect it will have on my liver. Other than that I'm positive! Thanks for sharing!
Awwww thank you!!!! Acne really sucks right?? You should be getting blood work done throughout accutane and they check on your liver health so don't be too worried about it! Just drink a TON of water!
Dry butt😂 watched alot of accutane vids and this is the first time someone mentioned it. Good to know though! I'm starting accutane next month. I've put it off for so long because im scared of the side effects but I'm tired of my acne. I can't wait to finally start.
Hahaha well just trying to keep it real! It was a not so fun side effect but hey, it happens to more people than you would think! If the side effects ever get too much, you can always stop or stay on a lower dose!
Thank you so much for sharing your story! I hope you have forgotten about this problem forever! And will never face it! Could you please share have you been taking your pills once a day or twice? Did your dermatologist suggest you any treatment for new breakouts while being on accutane? I am also on it now and i suffer from new breakouts every single day.. i just dont know what to do, cant take my hands off them. And really just want to cry all the time. Thank you!!!
Aww you are welcome!!! I took my medicine twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. You are not allowed to use any other acne treatments while on accutane because it is too harsh on your skin. Your skin thins out a lot from accutane so you don't need to be applying anything else other than moisturizer and sunscreen! TRUST THE PROCESS AND DO NOT PICK! Any time you want to pick, think about the scar it will leave behind (that worked pretty well for me!)
You are so lucky. I am on Accutane and this is my 1st month in 2 days I start month 2 and I have severe dry skin. I am always using lotion and I still have 5 to 7 months left depending on when it goes away.
I don't know how I got so lucky! I have very sensitive and reactive skin but it never made me uber dry! I think I just used so much moisturizer that I was pretty hydrated! I use cetaphil and it's been wonderful! There are great accutane skincare videos on youtube that offer a ton of moisturizer suggestions...that could be helpful!
I am so thankful that you had good results with AccuTane... Please Please Please though... the world's not only you. You know that. Accutane's been trying to kill me since the early 80's. I wish I'd never taken it. I wish I could have the "old me" back. The me - before accutane. I wish I'd never thought the things Accutane makes me think.
I am really sorry to hear that! I am 100% transparent in my video that everyone has very different experiences. I truly am so sorry yours was not a positive one. Thank you for the feedback.
hi sara thanx for this inspiring video i was scared to use accutane but tomorrow i have dr appointment to do my tests before i take it , im so excited i have acne since i can remember im 29 i have 2 kids and still having acne i wake up everyday wishing my skin is clear just like other girls
Awww I am so happy I could inspire you!! I know it is definitely very scary but you can, worse comes to worse, always stop taking the medication if it doesn't agree with you! Best of luck!
mine looks like yours, probably worse. and it’s not even just on my face, but my chest, back, shoulders, arms, thighs, my scalp. i’m in constant pain. wether it’s emotional or physical. but today i’m picking up my accutane. wish me luck :)
@@sarawinkler1243 im on day 5 and my skin is drying up. im purging and it hurts a lot lol. but i have faith, just feeling a little tired i guess? and my body a lil achy
@@NotKuda I feel that. Make sure to use a heavy moisturizer like Cerave moisturizing cream. There are a ton of accutane skincare videos that give great product recommendations so check those out!!! (Dr. Dray on youtube is a great starting point) Make sure to keep your body moving! Whether its walking, yoga, or something else, it really helps keep everything flowing!
I started accutane last week and for the first few days I was doing well but my chest hurts now. It’s not like pain where I can’t handle it but it hurts and my stomach is starting to hurt too 😭, I’m starting of off with 40mg, I hope my skin clears up soon
I worked with an older lady years ago and she said her son actually killed himself because of his acne. I wish acutane was around all those years ago. Poor man
@@aroundtheworld3278 yesssss , i was cured , however i am healing from acne scars but they’re going away overtime with this retinol treatment i have (tretinoin)
@@aroundtheworld3278 for the moisturizer i used, “Neutrogena Hydro Boost Face Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid” and for the cleanser, i used cearve foam cleanser. i stopped using the cleanser because i realized it didn’t really help, so now i use korean rice water cleanser, which works way better! everyone skin is different so it’s up to you!
Thank u for sharing us your journey... You look amazing stunning am talking it for three months only and my dermatologist told me that it's enough l don't know why l didn't get the results that I wanted
Thank you! What a bummer :( I would definitely work with your dermatologist, or pick a different one if you aren't happy. I have had to change doctors before because I felt so unheard. It is not fun to feel that way!
@@sarawinkler1243 thank u sweetie I'm happy cause l talk to someone who know how l feel and lam going to change my dermatologist Plz keep supporting me...
Hi! Most of my scars have completely gone away. I can still tell where the reallllly bad breakouts had been but I know I look at my skin far more than an average person would LOL!
I was the SAME as you!! If they are red marks, these fade with time and can be minimized with sunscreen use, retinoids (AFTER ACCUTANE), and quality skincare. Deeper scars also can heal with time but the dermatologist has a lot of treatments that you can do post accutane to help with these!
really late but i rlly hope u can respond. I have recently started taking accutane and I had two questions. 1. What was your dosage throughout each week and how long did you take accutane for? 2. What acne treatment did you take after finishing the accuatne? THANK YOU FOR THIS GREAT VIDEO.
1. My dosage started at 20mg, went to 40mg, 60mg, and 80mg by the end of treatment! Your dosage is dependent on weight and severity of acne!! 2. What I use now is epiduo forte and the ordinary's lactic acid but I rotate them! For ex: Monday I use epiduo forte, Tuesday off day, Wednesday the ordinary, Thursday off day, and Friday epiduo forte and then I follow that pattern! You are welcome!! Thanks for watching!
Hello , this is so inspiring, actually i’m on my second month and 9 days of accutane (20mg) , my skin purged a lot , it’s getting better , but i’m still purging a little bit , is that normal ? I also have red marks , and i’m so worried about them .. , did u had some ? Thanks ❤️❤️
Hi! I'm happy my video could help! Totally normal for your skin to be purging and some of my friends didn't notice clear skin until month 4/5! It is very individual! I also had a LOT of red marks but once my acne started clearing up, those starting going away! Time truly heals all of your red marks!
My acne is so so bad, its almost 3months since I'm on accutane but I've seen no result, but my dermatologist won't increase my dosage tried to convince her but she got mad saying I've watched too many videos on yt. First two months I'm on 20 mg, 3rd and 4th month I'll be on 30mg. I'm scared and sad
