My school made me take it in 7th grade..... just so I could take my next level math which was geometry (instead of "advanced algebra"). Like WHAT I'm 12 calm down. But I got into CTY so ig something came out of it. (They even had an SAT prep club)

Holy hell, as an immigrant, who grew up moving to many places and not having many friends there was no one ever there to tell me that taking the SAT in seventh grade was even a possibility. I’m a junior and I still am very lost in what to do and what I need because I just simply never knew. For example I knew that of course you needed SAT but didn’t realize until a few months ago that SAT Subject Tests were a thing

Well I got my ACT scores back... After a week of actually caring about studying, I completely gave up and forgot about the ACT until a week before test day. Kinda regret not studying now, oh well. My scores ended up being the following: Math - 22 (I know 😔) Science - 23 English - 26 Reading - 33 Composite - 26 I mean for a 9th grader, it's not horrible but next year I'm going to actually study and make it to 30 composite.

Hi, Did your student keep his 7th grade SAT score in the permanent record? Why or why not? I know College board automatically delete the score (within a school year) unless you send them a letter saying you want to keep the score forever in your record. I would appreciate if you answer the question. Thanks.

Does getting a 1600 on the SAT mean that there were no wrong answers or is there space for mistake and still get the score.

That depends on the curve for the test. Some tests are relatively easier so getting even just 1 wrong can reduce your points by 10 or even 20. Some tests are harder though, so getting one wrong can still make you have a perfect score. You can check out Allen Cheng on prepscholar to see what I'm saying (he experienced these)

Qwerty II that’s not necessarily true. Navya, if you have really good extracurriculars, GPA, and other test scores that should be perfectly fine but if you want to compensate for another area that might be lacking than you definitely want to get it up. And agreed, the August curve was brutal. On my math section I went from. 9 questions wrong on the last test to only 6 wrong, and I still got the same score.

Navya Yagalla yes, 35 is REALLY good. It’s basically the ACT equivalent of a 1560-1590. If you have both of those scores you could pretty much get into any school you wanted, assuming your GPA/classes, extracurriculars, leadership, etc. all match the level of the scores

You don't have to. It honestly depends on how much you are able to out into this and what kinda school you're aiming for. I'd say eigth grade is a bit early, but it depends on your situation

Idk mannnn.... the SAT feels like it is easier.. At least according to what I have read based upon my skill sets. Have not taken an ACT yet though. Only the Reading and English part. So I need to get in and take a practice ACT.

Just a fan if you can work outrageously quickly (do sixty math problems in sixty minutes. One minute MAX per problem), then yes, it’s easier. If you’re a slow worker and cannot think quick enough (like me), the SAT is easier.
