This is amazing!!! There is so much information that sometimes you tend to get lost, especially as a new teacher... but you’ve managed to put into one video everything I’ve been trying to find! Thank you so much!!! I love how you plan and organize! New subscriber!! ❤️
I'm so glad to hear it! Thanks, Amy! I just added the link so you can make a copy of the blank template I was using in the video :) You can edit it to fit your needs!! Just wanted to share it with you :) docs.google.com/document/d/1CdyF3QqAo9rMdQbXmZAaYSDWKqvpuBtVt8OS-gmQkY0/copy
Regina Weeks Hi, Regina! Thanks for the feedback. I’m so glad you enjoyed this video! Yes! I will work on putting those resources together. For now, I put the blank template for the lesson plans doc I was working on in this video in the description so you can edit it to fit your needs :) I really enjoy things related to digital planning/Google Drive, so I will definitely do more videos about that in the future. I’m glad to know that you would be interested in watching them! :)
You are amazing! I am an older teacher and have taught K, 1, 2, and 3. After 15 years in 2nd grade, I am moving back to K in the fall and hope to retire in a few years. I've been wanting to move back to K for a few years and I am so excited to watch your videos and learn about new ideas and trends from new teachers like you! I am not very experienced with all of this new technology that you younger teachers are using. I really want to learn because it makes the classroom experience so much better for the students! I teach in Alabama and will definitely share your site with other teachers at my school! Thank you so so much for sharing!
I've always been a pencil-paper lesson planner, but I'm going to go digital for my summer tutoring lesson plans. Thank you so much for the inspiration and for this very helpful video, Maddie!
I use power point in my teaching too! I have one per week that takes us through our morning warm up each day. I love it because it keeps us moving and it ensures that I don't forget anything!
Danielle Cole Great idea, Danielle! Yes, I love that the PowerPoint slides keep the resources and videos I need a ride at my fingertips so that I don’t waste instructional time. Like you said, it also keeps us moving and helps me not forget things. Thanks so much for watching my video! :)
Ok, that's good to know! Thanks for telling me. I plan to do more videos on Google Drive in the future :) I do a little bit of both (subjects vs. theme). For purely academic things, I sort by subject, then by either topic or month. Then I have a holidays folder and inside of that I organize by theme/specific holidays :)
This is awesome. I also have been going back and forth wanting to plan digitally and with paper. My paper teacher planner is cute, but it really isn’t working for me. I’ve also tried digital planning in GoodNotes with iPad, but that isn’t very flexible, either. I love that you use Google Docs and have it anywhere you need it. Thank you so much for sharing.
I'm so glad that you enjoyed watching, Carolyn! Yeah - I started out with a paper planner too and it just wasn't working for me. Like you said, I really appreciate that I can access Google Docs anywhere - even from my phone! :)
This video is GREATNESS! As a soon to be teacher, planning is what I’m most nervous about! To answer your questions, I’d be very interested in the templates you’d like to give!
Erica Sergio Thank you, Erica! I’m so glad you enjoyed watching! Planning can definitely be challenging when you’re first starting out. :) That’s Great to know! Thank you for letting me know. I will work on getting those documents and templates together for you. For now, I put a blank copy of the lesson plan template in the description box that you can save for the future! :)
Hi Maddie! I am rewatching this for the zillionth time. I would love to hear your take on organizing your Google Drive. Might even make for good Insta-stories if those are easier :o)
hi there .. I really like how simple and clear your work is. although we teach differently here in Kuwait, but this video was helpful for me in organiizing and prep my documents and work. Thank you so much .....❤️
Hi! I used 12x12 scrapbook paper and cut it to fit :) Then I printed out my name on colored paper, mounted it on another sheet of colored paper, and glued it onto the scrapbook paper!
Totally unrelated but just seeing the word duty there makes me angry. As if teachers didn't have enough to do they also give us morning or afternoon duties. Ugh!
