This video was very personal to make. Have you ever been burned out - how did you deal with it?

Your self-discipline helped so much. Ambition alone without the things you've recently learned isn't enough to be holistically successful.

Thank you for your comment! You're absolutely right-ambition alone isn't sufficient for achieving holistic success. Similar to what you outline, it's been a significant learning experience for me to understand that true success isn't just about reaching our goals but also about maintaining our mental, emotional, and physical well-being in the process. I'm really glad to hear that my experience and the lessons I've learned have resonated with you. Thank you again for your support and for taking the time to share your thoughts. Keep striving for your goals with self-discipline and a mindful approach to success.

Thank you so much for this personal insight. Actually your newsletter about 11 days ago opened my eyes. I felt it, but your words regarding burnout were lifechanging, at least I hope. Because now I know, what my problem is. I feel empty, have so much to do and do nothing, procastinate important things, cut my socialising but depression doesn't fit, burnout does. Over the last week I tried babysteps and am working on it. Good to see, that you are better after 6 weeks. I struggle with health issues and I am working in the health sector, that doesn't fit but at least now I know and hope to get through it. Limiting social media is a big and important part for me, concentrate on things which were important for me and I lost. Hope next year will be better. Sorry for my confusing english. I cannot even express my feelings in my language (German) so in English it's more difficult. But thank you anyway, for showing me, for taking us on your journey. Wish you and your family, especially Olivia of course, all the best for 2024

I'm genuinely touched by your comment and deeply appreciate your openness in sharing. It's heartening to hear that the newsletter provided some clarity on what you've been feeling. Recognizing and acknowledging burnout is a crucial step towards healing, and I'm glad my words could help in that process. Your approach of taking baby steps is admirable! Dealing with health issues on top of everything is indeed challenging, but your self-awareness and proactive steps are bound to make all the difference! It's also wise to limit social media and refocus on what's truly important to you. These are significant steps in regaining control over your well-being. I'm obsessed with identifying and understanding definitions because, just like you've experienced, they provide the clarity and resolution we often need. Your comment is a perfect example of why this matters so much. Thank you for joining me on this journey and for your kind wishes. I extend the same to you and your loved ones for 2024. Keep taking those baby steps, and remember, each small progress is a victory in itself.

Thank You, for this amazing video! Yea I agree in the social part of recovering from a burnout! Lately I found that for some reason no matter how burned out I am, hanging out with people just instantly relaxes my mind and quiets the subconscious. (Which really makes me think we are too stuck on our bubble and socializing is a great way to get unstuck and see that everything is ok) Also in that ending note, we high achievers do tend to work our asses off and not let ourselves have fun, and I do think we would do better in the long term if we have fun/rest days compared to working 24/7, and our quality of our work as well will improve by just having days were we just aren't working on our goals and such!
@ShengHuang
@ShengHuang 6 месяцев назад
Thank you for your thoughtful comment and for sharing your insights on recovering from burnout. It's really powerful to hear how socializing has played such a key role in your relaxation and mental well-being. You make an excellent point about how easy it is to get stuck in our own bubble. Engaging with others can indeed provide a much-needed perspective shift, reminding us that things are okay and that there's a world beyond our immediate concerns and stresses. Your observation about high achievers is spot on. I resonate with that a little too well. In the pursuit of our goals... we often forget the importance of rest and fun. Your comment highlights a very important aspect of self-care and productivity that many of us overlook. It's a valuable reminder to all of us, especially those who tend to work relentlessly, that taking time to unwind and enjoy life is crucial. Thank you again for your input - keep taking care of yourself and remember, balance is key!

Thank you for sharing this very personal journey. I watched the video 3 or 4 times before I just decided to take notes on an index card to put in my journal. I started doing morning pages (from The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron) in August to help with burnout. I've since changed to a dot-grid notebook to incorporate mind maps. Sometimes I write in paragraphs, others I mind map the thoughts because they are too quick to capture otherwise. It's had some unexpected but positive results.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and the steps you've taken on your own journey. It's truly inspiring to hear how the video resonated with you, to the extent of watching it multiple times and even taking notes to reflect. This level of engagement and reflection is a powerful tool in personal growth and deep learning! Your adoption of morning pages is a fantastic practice. It's wonderful to see how you've adapted/been inspired by this reflection method to fit your needs! It's especially cool to hear how others get creative incorporating Mind Maps. The positive and unexpected results you've experienced are a testament to the power of consistent and mindful self-expression! Keep embracing this journey of self-discovery and adaptation. Your approach exemplifies how personalizing self-care and mindfulness practices can lead to profound personal insights. Thank you again for sharing your experience!

Btw - I also use dot grids in the my passport sized notebook. Maps are often much more efficient for capturing fleeting thoughts than writing. Whereas writing is excellent for expressing emotions. Two powerful tools in one!
