As much as the coffee drinks are delish...they can cause anxiety, brain fog which leads to stress. Best thing I did was give up all caffeine. Wasn’t easy at first but made a HUGE difference in my mental well being and my digestion. Switched to water and herbal non-caffeine tea/iced tea.
Came here to say the same thing! After experiencing PPD and PPA with my firstborn, I gave up caffeine a few months before we got pregnant with our second. The difference I have felt with my stress levels, anxiety, and depression the past 2 years has been unreal. I have 2 cups of decaf coffee every morning and while I know that decaf still has a tiny amount of caffeine, I've found that it's the perfect amount for me to still function really, really well with 2 kids and working full-time from home.
Coloring can be calming. There are lots of adult coloring books with specific designs or even just basic patterns. Coloring with markers helps by not having to push down too hard and allows you to be able to color longer. I also like to write lists of the things that are swirling around in my head. Just taking the time to sit down and acknowledge what needs to be done can be calming. Sort of like prioritizing the tasks you need to do. Like daily, weekly or even monthly stuff. I feel stressed before I do this and it really does make me feel better when its done. Being a new Mom with a lot going on with baby B, managing the vlog, your relationship, etc. is just a lot. So write it down. 🥰
hahaha I was about to say a crock pot meal would help. or cooking together, it takes the stress off of one person, I know it's hard with a little baby, but if she is sleeping you can prep earlier and leave in a pot in the fridge til dinner time. i CAN'T stand touching chicken. I use rubber gloves. McCormick's packages have slow cooker meals too, like pulled pork. that beautiful smile is a big DE-STRESSER!!!!! Bex is beautiful! swimming, or yoga if you like that can be very helpful. cross stitch, or coloring, (I am older than your Mom and I love to color and it's so relaxing) Good luck finding what works for you guys!
they have things for the corners of tables for baby proofing. definitely the plastic thingies that go in the outlets. It's been too many years girlie I can't remember them all!
So good to see you guys. You might want to think about getting her a play pen. That way when she starts sitting up and crawling around she won't hurt herself. She can play with her toys in there. It might also help you with anxiety. Knowing she is safe in there and you don't need to have your eyes on her all the time. It allows you to move around the house more freely. She can be in there while your cooking, putting a load of wash in upstairs, small things like that really makes a huge difference. They make these bumper pads that fit on coffee tables to help with corners and edges. These are just some helpful hits that helped me years ago. God bless and lots of love from a Grandma in Cali 🌺
I generally feel that way when I'm overtired. So I'm not stressed, I'm tired. When I feel that way, I talk to myself and remind myself that I've gotten through days like this before and I can do it again. Remember, not everything has to be done all at once. Some things can wait. Do what's necessary.
Aaaawww you both are new parents, schedules & diapers, lack of sleep etc.Yes it is stressful. If you like taking baths, a nice warm or hot bath with candles & read a book or go on a device can do wonders to destress. Puzzles are good. Also painting.I paint pictures & that is my time to relax & destress. Also maybe lowering expectations. Not expecting to have cleaning done & everything looking perfect. Just do what you can. These little humans demand a lot of time. Bexley just gets cuter everytime I see her. Also call mom & go for coffee. Get out of the house on your own can be a great stress release. If Eli can't stay with Bexley you have sister's that would love to spend a couple hrs with her. Love you guys! I enjoy your vlogs.
Hi guys, Lacey I want you to really understand how big of a difference you have made in countless people's lives by showing us the real world. So many people think that everyone else has life sorted but behind the scenes a lot of people struggle especially when becoming a Mum for the first time. You are relatable to all kinds of people and even though you have so much to do and it's stressful but I think that one day (hopefully soon) you will realise just how important and special your vidoe topics are. You and Eli are awesome parents and I just want to encourage you to keep being your beautiful self knowing that you have more people you can count supporting you from afar. I think most channels have haters but I see that as the commentors having issues and it just makes the positive comments stand out. X
Hey guys. What I do to destress myself is I get some bread and go down by the river where there’s no one around. It’s just me, myself and I. With the loaf of cheep bread I would feed the seagulls or any bird in general to help me to be stress free. As for the table with edges and corners get some noodles that kids uses for swimming put that on and the baby won’t hurt herself. Make it colourful so she can have fun learning her colours. Love your vlogs and can’t wait to see you guys again.
Hi Lacey! I hope you're doing well. I understand being stressed out. Especially when things out of your control happen. To me, I think it's crucial to adopt the mindset of "it is what it is." To just roll with the punches and take everything life gives you as a learning experience. Some things I like to do to de-stress are: go work out at the gym, clean the house or deep clean something and listen to a podcast, bake something fun (sometimes cooking dinner feels less fun and more like a chore so maybe cooking something you don't NEED to cook will be more fun for you), read a book I like, go for a walk or a bike ride, hang out with people I care about, play a game with family/friends or by myself on my phone lol, make lists of anything and cross things off the list (this can be a to-do list or something different but putting little tasks on a list and crossing them off makes you feel accomplished), and crochet is a really good hobby to have because all you need is a needle and yarn and you can follow a super simple pattern on youtube or something. I hope this list helps and maybe you can use a few of the things that help me. Just remember, everything is a learning experience and you're doing a great job.
Hey Lacey!! Really missed seeing your videos, but hope things get better. For me to de-stress I usually go on car rides by myself and listen to music. Shopping is another way I de-stress but if there is a lot of people it does not work for me lol. I also love doing puzzles and coloring!! Just want to say YOU GOT THIS Lacey!! And you arr doing an amazing job as a new mommy, you should feel proud of yourself because we are! I have watched you for a couple years and I have loved how much you have grown and your journey after moving out of your parents house and now as a mommy. Proud of you!!
If you are looking for it, I think that was a baby brush under the chair 😉. She is to cute for her own good!! Deep breaths and remember to go with the flow! I know it takes work to get out of the house be you really need to for your own sanity. She needs to also! You can take that baby to the moon and back if you want to...in her eyes as long as she has one or better yet both of you there...she is up for ANYTHING!! Go swimming more!! You have a pool their plus both parents have one. She loved it and it is good for you all! The anxiety will get easier if you do it more often (get out) and have a routine to do so. Have 2 diaper bags with one always being ready to go out the door without over thinking it. You got this!! You are amazing parents!!
Hey Lacey & Eli - when my kids were tiny and started rolling around, I used to roll up their blankets to block or act as padding for their play area. Anything soft- pillows, cushions from the sofa or pillows to block corners and table legs should suffice. No need to get rid of good furniture, just child-proof it. That worked fine for me and the kids.
Definitely make sure all plug in outlets are covered, anything small is off the floor, corners…. Well you can’t cover them with something soft. Toxic things need to be out of her reach. Wires tucked away as much as possible. If she’s old enough for a bouncer that has wheels you can put her in there when you want some time together. You can only do so much when baby proofing. Don’t worry too much. Maybe try to have fun and make it a fun experience. Maybe make it into a game or something. You and Eli are amazing parents. I just can’t say that enough. Love you all. Can’t wait to see what is in stored for y’all in the future:)❤️😇
I like to do Yoga when I‘m stressed out. I‘m Not good or anything I just follow some guided sessions from RU-vid. It helps me Calm down and helps me clear my head. Another thing I do is crochet. Maybe not as relaxing if you‘re first learning it but once you learned it’s really easy and also rewarding if you finish a project.
Hi Lacey, I learned to crochet during lockdown and I find it so therapeutic. I learned with the help of RU-vid videos. You could make all kinds of stuff for Bexley.
For a change of pace try putting chicken with a jar of salsa in the crockpot. If you want a gravy add a small can of tomato sauce. We serve over rice normally and serve with green beans.
Lacy walking helps with stress and kickboxing is a huge stress reliever. Prayers ❤️ maybe you guys should have a date night and let Bexley stay at your parents for the night and so you 2 can have some alone time and you guys can relax.
My mom has got me hooked on Diamond Art!! She got me one from the Dollar store to see if I liked it. I loved it so she ordered me a big dolphin one from Amazon!! So good to destress!!❤🇨🇦❤🇨🇦❤
Sending so so so much love! I love ur guys channel so so so much! I have been diagnosed with anxiety, so I am always stressed, even though I am young. Love y’all so so so much, and sending so much love from Chicago! Y’all should come visit us soon! ❤️ ❤️ Lacey, you got this! Your a amazing mom. Eli, you are a amazing dad! I love how u guys work together, and I love that, you guys inspire me so so so much, and I want to be like you guys when I’m older! ❤️❤️❤️
Stress definitely sneaks up on you as you enter adulthood. You have more responsibilities and that comes with more tension. I always try to prevent stress by swimming at the local gym every morning before work. Exercise reduces highblood pressure and stress. Maybe biking or jogging or walking qt your local mall. All of these activities reduces stress. Another stressful thing is what to make for dinner everyday. I now take a Saturday once and every six weeks and make a variety of meals in my pressure cooker and then freeze them. I'm craving pumpkin bars already..lol
Great to see you all and Bexley is as cute as ever! I hope you find ways to continue to destress. Going for a walk is definitely a good one...also going for a swim. Do you have any other friends who are mums (Aussie spelling) who you could meet for coffee and vent to? Sometimes having someone who is not family to meet at a park or something regularly can be great.
Hello Donna how are you doing and how’s the weather over there? I was going through comments when I came across your post.. I would love to be a friend, would be nice if you can add me up, i hope you don’t mind?
I'm stressed by these mustaches that all the young guys are growing because they look like they star in 70's bumchickbowmwow movies LMBO But, I hope you seriously find a few things that help you get through those funk filled days a little easier and then more importantly we as followers will get more great content. Love you guys!!
Love this video because it’s a great reminder to always be kind because you never know what someone is going through, and the outside doesn’t always reflect the inside. 💕 You can do so much with a crockpot! One of my faves is chicken, taco seasoning and salsa.
Exercise is a great way to de-stress! Also, yes, relaxing hobbies--crochet is good for me because I can do while doing other things. Then I can gift, donate, or sell items that I've made. As far as baby-proofing, I think a lot of people over think it. Just put locks on cupboards that have dangerous (toxic or sharp) items, and cover any open outlets. Not much else needed.
Hello Susan how are you doing and how’s the weather over there? I was going through comments when I came across your post.. I would love to be a friend, would be nice if you can add me up, i hope you don’t mind?
Lacey and Eli, Treasure every moment with your adorable daughter Bexley.I lost the only girl I would ever have at 3 months 42 years ago.The pain never goes away.I desperately wanted the daughter. I had prayed God would intervene but it wasn't meant to be. Much love and prayers to your blessed family! I love all the videos!
Love your little family! Lacey, have you ever had Jamie over from the Crazy Pieces to do puzzles with you? She is so good at them and that would a fun distressing thing to do with a family member who love being with people and is so kind and gentle.
I know what you should try is diamond art kits. It’s basically a picture you get little beads (aren’t the name) and gel and a stylus and you put them on the page. It’s awesome! Yes it’s time consuming. If you want I can send you a dm what is it. If you have a hobby lobby close to you you can get them from there.
I am a mama of two beautiful girls I'm a single mama I work two job's to make ends meet but I consider myself SOOO BLESSED why because I woke up this morning to two beautiful souls and I'm able to have the ability to work and care for my daughter's I wish my stress was a gross cup of coffee and a crowded parking lot at Target...Soooo when you get depressed look up and thank God that you get to be a stay at home mama and you get to love on your beautiful Angel all day long ! So I pray and thank God how fortunate I am for my blessed life the stress will disappear the power of prayer will help you daily!!!..💜🙏💜
Moving my body really helps. I call it “ moving” because sometimes it’s exercise and I break a sweat. Other days it’s just a chill walk. I keep a routine and it helps!
Please reach out to someone!! If you are more comfortable talking to a complete stranger then I'm here for ya!! I'm 46 and have been through a ton of good and bot so good life experiences!! If you ever need to talk hun I'm here for you!!❤🇨🇦❤🇨🇦❤
2 car accidents, 2 major surgeries, hardly a break due to Covid. Its so hard with my health. Trying to be strong but not easy, your wee one is wort it!!
@@fionamckinnon my son is 24 and hasn't spoken to me in 2 years because of his girlfriend. I'm about to have brain surgery #43 and the kid could give two shits!! There are different obstacles throughout all stages of life. As women we are tough and can get through it all!!❤🇨🇦❤🇨🇦❤
I also have anxiety and love coffee! Sadly I know caffeine can make it worse but it's so hard to give up! I hope you continue to find things that work for you!
I love to do puzzles to. When I am stressed I do puzzles. I have an app on my iPad that I do puzzles on. I also color coloring can be very calming. It was so good to see you guys! Bexley is getting so big. She is absolutely adorable! You are both great parents. I love your beautiful family!
Another great easy crockpot recipe is: Chicken, 1/3 chicken broth, as much garlic as you want and then Buffalo Wild Wings Sauce that’s garlic and parmesan (get the sauce at Walmart) 3- hours on high or 6 on low. Serve with or over noodles or rice or potatoes and some veggies. Sooo goood!!
I have a clolouring book, some stuffed animals, some menthol pills that help me calm down. Planning an adventure, a trip is also a good way to calm down. Also I have a medication to calm down. Most times in big crowded places I take somebody with me who helps me to breath correctly. I first went just in and out and put the times always higher. Now it is just a bit uncomfortable for me. Its a bit longer process to get over it. I know some even dont get this far so im thankful that I got to this point in life.
A long pillow for the coffee table so Bexley cant bump her little head thats all i can suggest ,and if your looking for her brush its under the chair LOL love you all 👋💕
I colour when I'm stressed or paint. Doing it in person is definitly way better for distressing but I have a few apps on my phone too which are great if I'm in like a doctors waiting room or something as it helps to de-stress and takes the boredom out of waiting. My 6yr old looooves it too. There are some really great adult colouring books out there and a wide variety of crayons pencils and markers. For myself I try to use more professional types of markers just because I feel you better a better quality picture but that's just my own preference, my other way to de-stress is waiting you guys and crazy pieces crazy middles reidhead homestead crazy duo crazy treasures and Alex petit I love all you guys so much watching all of you helps me de-stress so thank you so much. ❤️
Hello Lacey , I sure do miss seeing you all .. Glad to see everything is okay. I do coloring either in coloring books or on the phone app .. I journal it helps me feel good .. Listen to music Read a book Go for walks Really loved seeing you ,Eli, and Bexley
Hi Eli Lacey and Bexley. My de-stress activity is word search books. You asked what Bexley was doing in the car. She was just looking at the camera. Enjoy your day
I love the crack chicken too! What I found was good is putting it on pasta! I also suggest the cracked out tator tot casserole on Pinterest too. It's my husbands fav! Love you guys ❤️
yes move coffee table out of LR gives Bexley room to roam. Lacey join a baby and me class (music, baby gymnastics or baby yoga) gives you something to do on a schedule, meet new Mom's and babies...best thing I did when I had a little baby.
They make corner guards which are just soft cushioned covers for table and other furniture corners. Maybe you could just get some of those so you don’t have to get rid of the table!
I would get rid of the coffee table but there corner bumpers you can put on. Put plugs in the outlets for sure. They have baby locks for cabinet doors. A must. There are a lot of baby proofing things on the market.
I love crack chicken. I also make a smaller batch as a dip using can chicken. I have adult coloring books for when I am stressed. I also like to do word search puzzles.
I have moderate to severe anxiety. I am on medication for my anxiety, as well as have other coping mechanisms. I love playing The Sims franchise, as it helps me escape from reality and I don't need to worry about it being multiplayer. Other things I recommend... - Drawing or painting - Listening to music - Journaling Then other tips that help me with day to day function is having a schedule. For example (keep in mind, I don't have kids yet), I have a basic routine. Wake up, brush teeth, have coffee, play video games for 30 mins, put in a load of laundry, play video games for 30 mins, do dishes and other clean up... I try to keep my schedule fairly flexible, as with my anxiety I am prone to burning out and having full-blown panic attacks.
Do you like puzzles and I like books. Audiobooks are my thing. What if you try listening to an audiobook while doing your puzzles? And you can pretty much listen to audiobooks anywhere while you’re doing your crockpot meals or waiting for the baby to wake up. 😇 we never had a coffee table I know a lot of people love them but we just find them useless in the way. So my daughter just pretty much had the whole living room to have her way with around. 😇 my daughter loved mirrors and still at almost 3 years old she loves them. We got her a mirror for the car that would go on the back of like the passenger or the driver seat so she could stare at her self we were driving and when she’s rear facing theirs can also go on the backseat as well
It’s called scissors to open something u can’t open 😂😂😂😂 The look she gave u n the car was like u caught me. Cute. She’s should be getting ready to crawl soon. She’s at that age. She’s a growing & so adorable
...try gates at every staircase. Bexly almost poked her eye in that box. also educational toys will limit the chasing. I loved the play ground in back with fenced in yard and locked gate to run around in with my own children who are older now
You could probably get those little bump corners for babies that you could put on table corners. I also de-stress by listening to music and singing along. Shopping is another de-stress when I’m not worried about a budget lol.
My favorite way to de-stress is a really hot bubble bath. Lock the door, light my favorite scented candles and soak away all my stress..... with an iced mocha coffee!
You are doing great Lacey. I have social anxiety I can’t go in to shops on my own as I have a panic attack and I can’t go do food shopping by my self either.
You probably already know what I'm going to say! Vibe out! Blare your anthem song, roll down the windows and jam out! Also bubble baths with serene music is good too! 😝🤣 I also get out of town and go to a lake. ☺️
Agree, that coffee table looks dangerous. So many hobbies out there! You can do scrapbooks with Creative Memories and make some photo albums. Reading is a great way to relax and take your mind off things. You can go to the library and pick up some books that may interest you. Once you find an author you like, you can usually find other books by them. There is fiction, science fiction, biographies, non-fiction, etc. Book clubs always have good suggestions. You could start trying new Christmas cookie recipes to see if you would like to bake for people at Christmas. Yes, Christmas in July. You could enroll at the community college and take a class on line that would interest you. Needlepoint and cross stitchery is fun. Looks like other people here have some great suggestions.
I recommend something other than coffee for destressing. Herbalife carries black tea green tea options where you can loose weight and calories and or maintain. Theres no stressfull side effects
We miss you but waiting for new vlog is worth the wait. Oh Bexley is really pretty.😍 💚 🤗 🙏🏻 to all. #TheCrazyMiddlesFamily💚 #ReidHeadHomestead💚 #TheCrazyGoodLife💚,
Lacey inexpensive way to baby proof your house. POOL NOODLES. You can cut them down to whatever size you need and put them over any area you want to protect her from. Ex: bottom of the chairs, cut a pool noodle down to size and wrap it around. Also make sure you have plenty of outlet covers.
Thank you for sharing. I hope you can find out wether you are stressed or feeling tired by the changes in your life. Once you figured that out, you have probably also found solutions. Find a hobby you can share with a sibling or in a club? Give yourself a treat once a week and stick to it. You will find a way! Good luck and much love 🥰
Sounds like it was Starbucks you had that was burnt. Dutch bros is the best. We used to live at Greenfield & Southern and went to that one now we are on the west side. Diamond painting is pretty fun. I have some pieces that I started and haven't finished.
I have severe anxiety and totally get how big crowds affect you. I worked customer service for years and loved my career, but now I have panic attacks anytime I am around a large crowd of people unless it is family and even then I can only tolerate it for short amounts of time. I do 3 different activities to help me destress and those are; grab a book and get lost in the story for a while, listen to calming music(fav is native American for destressing), or go on a leisure car ride in the country so not having to deal with lots of traffic like I do daily in the city. Hope you find your ways to destress and remember it is ok to say "I need a break please can you keep the baby". We as mothers need to remember we have to replenish ourselves wether that is physically, mentally, emotionally, or all the above. When we do so it helps us to focus on our children and be calmer when there is an outburst or stressful situation. Love y'all and so proud of you both!
