Appreciate you sharing this bro. I'm a 31 year old language teacher looking to transition into IT and yours is the only tech channel I'm subscribed to. I really love how it's practical and straight to the point with no BS, it's super valuable.

Just have to say I absolutely love your channel! You have such a friendly demeanor and your videos/developer roadmap have been super helpful for me! I struggle with imposter syndrome and the constant feeling that "I need to learn one more thing before I can start applying" and then when I learn that thing, there's another "one thing" I need to learn that gets me stuck in this infinite loop. But your videos have given me so much more confidence in myself, so I am super grateful!!

Great mindset! So true, the grass always looks greener on the other side, but you never know the struggles of the other person. The solution is to focus on yourself and get 1% better every day.

Didn't know you had ADHD. Thanks for sharing this. All the more reason to keep following you. Are you on any medications to help you? Or was CBT alone was useful to manage it?
@Smoljames
@Smoljames 2 месяца назад
I have indeed tried medication but I don't enjoy the feeling and I also struggle to rationalise medicating myself for the sake of making a company more money lol so I don't anymore! There's a few things that have helped, I might have to make a video on it tbf but the main things are a) when I can't do something I don't force myself and I just chill, and b) I do my daily standup in Discord every day and c) I break down my tasks by the amount of focus I feel I have!

What a nice video man, I really appreciate this and the work you’re doing. I am getting startred and I felt this syndrome but I know better now. Our prophet Mohamed said: “Do not look for those above you but look for those below” this the essence of appreciation for what you have achieved and always to be grateful. Thanks man ❤

Thank you for this video and talking about imposter syndrome. I'm all too familiar with it, unfortunately. 🫣 I'm currently trying to transition from digital marketing to front-end development also through self-learning. I've just recently got an internship opportunity in development and was seriously considering not going for it, because of an intense feeling of imposter syndrome. Rationally I know it comes from low self-esteem (due to lack of xp in the field) and my brain being scared of the unfamiliar and trying to protect me, so I try to explain to myself internally that it will be alright. I heard a quote recently which helps a little: "I will endure the time when I'm a beginner and awkward because beginners do become experts eventually."
@Smoljames

That's a great quote to hold on to :P Just gotta take it one day at a time!
