We call that huille de maskreti. It's very good. My mom used to rub it on my scalp and hair. It smells funny but makes the hair grow very thick, strong and long. I'm so happy everyone is discovering Haitian beauty secrets. We also take cod liver oil daily. I use Carlsson lemon flavor cod liver oil internally. This brand is very high quality. Take 1 tsp daily. It is very high not only in omega 3 essential fatty acid but also vit D3, the absorbable kind. Not only will your hair and skin thank you, but your heart, nervous system, brain and just about everything else will thank you too.
I do the same for my hair! Your hair is beautiful! I'm 5 months post relaxer without any problems with my new growth. This treatment has grown my hair tremendously! Thanks for sharing. .........kisses
+Style Domination Hey.... an easier way to heat up your oils is to just put the applicator in a cup of boiling hot water and you don't have to go through the whole double boiler business.
You have the most beautiful hair! I am always paying close attention to what you have to say, because you definitely know what you are talking about. One day my hair is going to be as gorgeous as yours ❤️
No, I'm not going natural. I only want to relax once a year to give my hair a break from where I been. I finally started listening to my hair and it's very HAPPY now! Lol..............I see progress!
your hair is beautiful, the reason why the Haitian black castor oil is so thin is because it is basically a watered down version of the Jamaican black castor oil which is more concentrated. what i usually do is mix the JBCO with some EVOO
Really beautiful, you´re hair looks awesome and you remind me of Natalie Cole, so the only thing you could have done to make this video better is sing Route 66...Lol. Thanks!
+Monica Schmidt Hahaha! Thank you! I get that Natalie Cole comment a lot. And trust me, you do not want me to sing. I'll break the camera...and your ears. LOL! Thanks for watching, luv!
i am doing my hair right now with my mixtures of jamaican black castor oil coconut oil argan oil tea tree oil 100% lavender oil and avocado oil i mix all together put it through my hair put my cap on and leave in one hour it does really work my hair has grown 4 inches since feburary i love your hair its beautiful
+Nastisha Wilson Natisha! Thanks for sharing your oil mixture! The lavender must make it smell particularly nice. Thanks for watching and good job on the growth!
I also use an oil treatment that has been very beneficial. I mix 1 TB each of pure, organic: Aloe vera gel; jamaican black castor oil; olive oil, coconut oil, vitamin E oil, almond oil. I apply this mixture to my hair and scalp and massage. Then cover with a plastic cap and leave on overnight. Then wash and deep condition in the morning.
I noticed that stickyness you were talking about it certain castor oils too. I thought it was just me 'cause I'm very often the oddball when it comes to noticing certain details with certain things. That saran (rather than bags) is a *fantastically* practical idea. I'd TOTALLY do that if my laziness didn't override the aggravation I get from the crinkling plastic. I LOVE the volume you get with your results, without a lot of heavy greasiness. 19:20 lol, welcome aboard. You just wait...... (evillaugh.Evillaugh.EVILLAUGH). Although in my defense, mine kicked in after a stint in the hospital. But realtalk tho'.... You'd gonna rock the HELL outta some salt&pepper. You'll be the REAL "Silver Fox" ;) PS: I'm gonna need you to tone down that gorgeousness in these videos so I can hear what you're saying :P Please&ThankYa.
+ToughLoveTV OMG. You made my day. LOLOLOL! Ok - the cling wrap = the STRUGGLE!! I got lucky that time as it actually cooperated. LOL! Yeah - I found the Jamaican Castor Oil just a little too sticky for my taste. It also smelled weird...like meat or something. The HBCO smells a little strange, but not nearly as bad. As for the silver foxy time, I'm actually considering it! My aunt is salt and pepper and she foy-nnnne!!! LOL! Gorgeous woman, she is!! Thank you so much for watching, for the support and for the kind compliments! xoxox
Instead of the double boiler to warm up the oil, what are your thoughts on putting the oils in the squirt bottle then submerging the bottle in hot water and letting it sit for a while?
Hi Adanna! Thank you! What a compliment! In the summer, I'll deep condition and sometimes just put it in a bun after washing. Sometimes, I'll air dry it then add some oils, twist the hair into knots and let it dry for a curly/wavy effect. Usually in the winter though, I'll flat iron (on low heat) after each washing.
Hello, I love your channel and hair tips. You are stunning! I have a few questions because I would like to incorporate this into my routine. First, did you wash your hair first and then add the oil mixture? Two, after the hour did you wash the oils out? Three, if you did washed the oils out did you use shampoo or just water? Four, after you washed it out did you use a conditioner? Five, which oil did you use before flat iron? Six, did you use a heat protectant before flat iron? If so, which one? I’m so sorry for all of the questions. I’m struggling with dryness and want to make sure I fully understand before I try this. I’ll share my results so you would know how it worked out for me.
You are Breath taking..So beautiful! Your Videos are my go to. I'm. One week post Relaxer. Im Just not clear after your oil treatment. What you did, your hair is gorgeous. What did you use to wash your hair? Did you use deep conditioner? What Conditioners did you use? What did you use to flat iron your hair?
You mentioned that you sometimes use a steam cap during your deep conditioning routine. Can you do a how to video how you condition your hair with oils and use the steam cap sharing after results? Thank you!!;)
Barbara Larkins Haha! Thank you, Barbara! Life has indeed been good!! I don't feature the bad times like this flu I can't shake off or how stylish it is bundling up in 20 layers to survive the Canadian winter! 😉
I will try this for sure!!! I assume you shampooed after and didn't have to worry about using conditioner afterwards? I love Canada. I went to university there from The Bahamas and my brother still lives there with his family.
Yes! I'm so sorry about omitting that point! I definitely shampooed all of the oils out and used a little conditioner to ensure no tangles. Canada is indeed beautiful! I love it here! I hope to visit the beautiful Bahamas one day!
+Style Domination Yes, Canada is a great country. I absolutely love visiting with my brother and his family. You must come to the Bahamas sometime. I am not sure I will find Haitian Black Castor oil here but there is Jamaican Castor Black Castor Oil here for sure. So I will be adding this to my hair regimen with some other oils!
Hi Nique! So sorry for the confusion. I washed the oils out before drying my hair and flat ironing. So sorry I didn't capture that in the video. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for asking!! I was going crasy because it wasn't mentioned in the video but it didn't make sense not to rinse the oils out. Thanks, Dominique for answering!!
This looks great, but why would you put conditioner directly to the scalp? Just wondering..thanks for the video. I am willing to try this soon! Did you use Advocado oil? Your description box read "featured oil."
+marian B Hi Marian! Thanks for your comment. In this particular instance, I put the conditioner mixture directly on my scalp because it had the Haitian black castor oil (HBCO) in it. HBCO stimulates the scalp promoting hair growth. Normally, I would only work deep conditioner into my roots when I need a relaxer to help detangle the regrowth. I hope that helps! xo
Ok thank you. Then you just shampoo afterwards. I think u said yes in the comment section. This is basically your pre-poo right? Have u found it necessary to oil rinse since u do this already?
Hi before you blowdried after you deep conditioned your hair did you wash it? And if so did you run a lil moisturizer conditioner on it after? Before you actually air dried/ blowdried then flat ironed. Thanks in advance☺️
bajanalpha4 Hi! I wash my hair, towel dry it, then add the oils. I leave them on for an hour, then wash out. I’ll add a little of my fave detangling conditioner to my hair to make combing out easier. I then proceed with drying and styling my hair. If you have coarse hair, sure! More than once a month is good (2x a month is great). Fine hair? I think it would be too heavy.
What relaxer does your stylist use and how often do you wash your hair? Also, do you only go to the salon when you need your relaxer touchup? Your arms are very well toned btw!!! I would love for my arms to look like that! Oh and love the term "Arctic highlights!" Fantastic! lmbo!!
Hi love! So hopefully I didn't miss anything but did you put the oils on first then you shampooed your hair afterwards? Btw, I picked up the Joico Dry Oil spray, AG Conditioning Mist and a lot of other products from CosmoProf today. I also picked up the Joico deep penetrating reconstructor I'm trying so many different products to get my hair back healthy and strong. One thing I need to stop doing is relaxing it every 4 weeks. I desperately try to stretch it out but it just hasn't happened. :)
Oh Excellent! Glad you got the products! Yes - I'm so sorry. I forgot to mention that in the video. I definitely shampooed the oils out. And yes...you must really try to stretch the relaxer for much longer than four weeks!!! It will really help your hair health!!
+gemruby41 Yes - I'm so sorry! I can't believe I forgot to mention that in the video! Frankly, I get nervous filming these things and sometimes forget things or talk nonsense. So YES - I put the oil mixture in my hair, sat around for a few hours, then I washed it out with Joico Moisture Recover shampoo & conditioner. You know what? You have inspired me to film a "wash video" from start to finish. I will go ahead and update this video's description box in a little bit to reflect that I washed my hair AFTER the applying the oils. Thank you so much! xo
