Resilient Sounds Team 18 Crossfire XT-8K 45ah CMAX PowerBastards 240a Alt Deaf Bonce DBSA18 !? I absolutely OBLITERATED this massive coil! Oops 😬 At least I have a 119ib backup now!
I really did a number to this massive coil 🤣 Recone for it will be in next week! Not going to lie though, I'm definitely falling in love with this new backup sub
Bro I believe you destroyed that coil because it was a round wire coil not the flat wound American made PE coils that it should have that'll hold up to 500deg fahrenheit!!! The PE coils definitely handle power like a dream bro, I have two Wolfram PT-18'S with 4in 4 layer PE coils rated 4krms each and those do alriiiight I have a Wolfram AW-9000.1 on each woofer at 1ohm but they do get hot and I can't really give em the full beanz butttt I also have a badass DC NEO ELITE 4- 18 that has an 8 layer 4in PE coil now that sum-bitch is currently laughing at one of the Wolfram AW-9000.1D's wired at .45ohm and it's a brand new recone with like maybe 45min to an hour of total playtime smh I'm just breaking her in right now then I plan to add the second amp to it once she's nice and broken in and I feel like it will take all the power that I can feed it no joke! Also the Deaf Bonce Japanese coils are nasty too they'll take 25-30k burps all day long I have a pair of the 3515's with 3.5in coils and they seem like a bottomless pit when it comes to power handling as long as your box specs are right...
@@kevinAuman1 This coil I killed in this video was a PE american-made coil. I've killed multiple flatwound coils too. So far my round-wound coil made by NART Audio overseas was been the absolute strongest coil I've ever used by a long shot. The only reason I haven't had it in every re-cone I've done, is because its not readily available here in the states. American made doesn't always mean better quality.
I've had 2 RS team 18's on a bc 17k crescendo for over 3 yrs in a 6th order and the are still going strong. When i first installed them i was using a jvc deck and playing dirty signals off RU-vid which was clipping the shit out of it and the coils would get hot. I've since added a Kenwood deck and play mostly dj rusticles and my clip light never even blinks at high output. I know the day is coming when the teams will need reconed and i dread it. That db bounce is slamming though!
I’m living the single sub life as well. Right now I’m rocking an SSA Evil 15” in the Camaro and that thing ROCKS! I think I’m staying 4” voice coil or bust from now on.
Bro that is sick!!!! I love deaf bonce I bought 2 of those dbsa418d1s 2 years ago and lol I haven't used them yet they have been sitting in my closet along with the other subs and car audio lol but this is bad ass!!!! And it's funny before I went with these dbsa4s I was looking at the resilient sounds team subs
When you said a little soft clipping is good for the soul, I couldn’t agree more. Someone needs to make a rebassed version of that stupid rack city rap song and make it clip city and I would actually listen to it…while softly clipping
Great content I am about to get back in game so far I've bought 2 sundown salt 6 ks and don't know what I'm going to do for subs but based on what you've shown I think I might have an idea any info would be appreciated thanks and keep up the good work
Still can't believe your doing all that with just 1 sub ...love ur content..if u stay with 1 sub have u ever thought about going bigger than just a 18" ..have u considered a 24" I know u would have to change ur build but u would have 6 more " of cone area...
I've thought about it yes, that'd be about equivalent to two 15s of cone area, and would definitely get crazy, but I definitely know I can get more out of a single 18. I wanna see how far I can take this first then move up!
It doesn't have quite as much wind or bottom end compared to the rs, but it is way more efficient, and 30-50hz is WAY louder with the DB. And I don't think they make this DB anymore, I could be wrong.
What sub did u say u are running now the deaf bonce i couldnt find it what model is it and where u order it from is it a 4518? What kind of box is that a 6th? And u have it powered with a 8k amp? @ what ohm thanks when u going to rebuild your RE sub?
There’s something wired about that directronix coil it just doesn’t look like a Nart to me I could be wrong they do good recones for sure and there a great recone builders but this coil looks questionable for authenticity
@@SingleSubScrub How hard did you clip it? Im considering a trade for my zv6 12's for a team 18 with literally the same recone only it does have a NART coil. Im running a Ruthless 8500.1 45ah cmax and an autotech 240a alt very similar build to yours
Mines a week old and has a loose shorting ring inside. Wish I went a different route. Resilient sounds won’t even answer their phones and I’m still waiting for the owner to get back to me. Supposed to tear it open even though I’ve never fixed a sub and send a video of the pos they sent me and what’s wrong with it. One week old!
You may have gotten a defective sub as is possible with anything you buy but resilient sounds are definitely not a piece of shit. I slammed on a pair of team 18's for overv3 yrs now with 17,000 watts and they still slam. As for them not addressing your issue accordingly is wrong. They should send you a recone and pay a reputable shop in your area to do the work or send you a replacement asap.
@@kathygarber3230they have been good, I was just frustrated but they gave me a recone for $300usd and I did the recone myself. The coil must have been defective cause it was clipping pretty easily. I have tons of battery bank and the new coil is acting much better. I’m just breaking it in but the sub is reacting much better. As for Resillient sounds I’m not mad at them but their response time was slow and they don’t seem to answer their phone. Other than that they have been good. I did negotiate about fixing it myself and they offered me a new one for $575usd but I’m in Canada and the quote I got for shipping was $450usd so I was gonna go for the recone first. All good now though, was frustrated cause I spent $7500 on stereo equipment and the sub wasn’t right but all is good now. I’ve been told by many people that the owner is a stand up guy and will send me a new one if it’s not the coil but I haven’t needed to go that route cause it’s bumpin now. I like the team 18 a lot it’s motor force is amazing and the lows are crazy!
@SingleSubScrub what would you run on them for daily banging I have a salt 4 on it at 2ohm at about 2000rms and I can tell there is some more room for power since they are rated at 2500rms. I guess run at 1ohm put it at 2.5/3k rms to be safe. Luv the channel thx for the respond.
@SingleSubScrub got dual 2ohm subs two salt 4s. Right now I have them strapped at 4 each so 2ohm total at 2000rms each. Thinking of match gaining at low gain setting at 1ohm load each for around 2500rms
