Been waiting for this one! I would have been trying to mate thin fibers but this technique makes much more sense. Glad you still feel up to tying flies and trust you will be better soon. Tack!
That's a very good video, I can remember looking at some wings and thinking that it must be near impossible to build them in single or double fibres. But with patience ( in my case a magnified led light 😁) it can be done. I still find it amazing when you've to remove a fibre that has decided it doesn't want to go as they can hold on with their natural velcro. Thanks again
Thank David much appreciated, it's a great way of doing the wing and the colour flow bit more interesting. It takes more time and it also makes the wing depending on materials to crack easier but been doing it for many many years now so it's easy now. Think i've done those types of wings from time to time for about 8 years
Hey Jonas, thanks for the vid. Sorry to hear you're unwell again! Just wondering what you would consider to be the best substitute for Florican and Kori? I'm still learning here and don't want to waste valuable materials if I can avoid it! Get well soon bud! :)
Hi mate thanks ! for kori i would use white tipped turkey tail instead some look a bit similar and if not to broad it would blend into the wing. För florican its a bit harder but peacock wing feathers might do or coloured Amherst tail light brown
