How I Dose Clonazepam 

I got a panic attack a few months after my wife died unexpectedly. She was only 66 years old and had a fatal stroke while I was at work. My panic attack was so bad I could not even let anyone touch me, such as a nurse to take my BP and get my vitals. I literally jumped so badly that I could not be touched. The doc saw me and Rx 2mg clonazepam per day. I've been on this for the past 14 years since she died. I never had a panic attack again. I am now 79 years old and the doc said that I will not go off these meds because it would take me too long to wean off them, so based on my age, I will take them until my natural death, which is just fine with me.

This is one of the few medicines that actually really actually helps my anxiety

I've been on clonazepam for 7 years. I wouldn't be able to run a business without it. It has helped my anxiety and panic attack tremendously.

Klonopin had been a life changer for me. I take 1mg at bed time, and can feel the effects on my anxiety, throughout the next day. It's nice just taking one dose that lasts so long. I am strict to never take more. I've noticed that less is more with benzos.

I have/had adolescent, PTDS, child abuse survivor, clinical sepression (out of work 2 years), night-terrors, panic attacks and wrestle with daily anxiety and challenged sleep. A recent stressor (retirement) has me constantly dizzy. After an ER episode, turns out to be anxiety driven. I've taken clonazapam .5 mg > 10 years, noticing memory issues. My nurse pratitioner writes scripts for 3 mg per day, but I've made it work on 1 mg, sometimes none, when I can manage the anxiety on my own. Now 70 years old, I've noticed a dimished ability to tolerate stress. The ER doc suggested I dose down to .5 mg at bedtime. I appreciate knowing a pharmacist can go days off. Especilly since, others report withdrawals, although, I myself have never noticed them. The ER Doc and Psych Department Head told me that the 84% chance of developing Azheimers, was not a double blind study with too small a sample size. I’m prescribed 0.5 mg up to 3 times daily. I used to abuse it, but I got my act together a couple years ago. Now I mostly take it twice a day and save up the extras that I have leftover.

Klonopin have been a game changer when it comes to my anxiety. I only wish I knew about it when I was in college. My anxiety was so bad in classroom settings I had to quit. Had I had Klonopin I know I would have excelled. But live and learn. At least I have it now. And it's like anything. It can be used correctly or abused.

When I feel anxious,tired and sleepless,I take clonazeam (0.5 mg) before going to sleep. It really helps me to get a good sleep. I begin my next day fresh and worry free. I usually take it when I feel I am not functioning well. Sometimes I go without it for weeks, sometimes month. It helped me a lot in exams. I heard that this tablet has extreme negative effects. I would have been happier If I had not had to depend on it at all.

3 years ago I was prescribed 2 2mg of Klonopin each day it was good at first then things went down hill !!! As I learn more about the drug I started to lean myself off of so much now I am at .5mg a day after watching this video I am going to just start taking 3 times a week and slowly get off of it and only use in emergencies thank you 🙏🏼 for the advice . Hi I’m 30 years old and just last year I started experiencing horrible anxiety and panic attacks after I experienced my first ever heartbreak l. I randomly get the attacks was prescribed 1mg clonazepam. I would take a pill in the beginning pretty much everyday but then things got weird I would forget what I did the day before and I would feel like a numbing feeling on my entire body. So I stopped taking them everyday now I take only when a episode happens and I absolutely cannot control it also I only take half of the pill it seems to do the job. My end goal is to one day stop taking this pill and hope this anxiety/panic attacks disappear for good one day

I'm 24 and got put on Xanax at 14 but it didn't last long and I'd get rebound anxiety so I switched to clonazepam 1 MG 3 times daily. I take all 3 in the morning as my DR said I could . It's a lifesaver. SSRI drugs don't di a single thing for me. Thank youuuu for the video . I loved it !

I take clonazepam due to having intense nightmares when I sleep. My psych said he thought it was anxiety causing it. Lo and behold, 0.5 clonazepam before bed and I sleep better and wake up more refreshed than any other day. However, I try to use it as little as possible. I end up taking it, on average, maybe one every week and a half. Some months I can go with only one dose. Some months I need one per day for several weeks. It kinda fluctuates.

I have panic disorder and general anxiety. Ive noticed for me personally if i dose too frequently it isnt as effective. Tolerance builds up insanely fast for me, so i try to only take it when i really need it.

Im 62 and was prescribed this for decades and only take it for events that make me fear a panic attack(i faint with them). So ive been taking it maybe 5-10 per year and avoid lots of things. Last few years been caring for my parents - both died - mom just 3 months ago...since her death,my anxiety has become severe 24/7 and nothing else helps - even an ssri - so now i started taking .5mg daily and terrified of this leading to other issues ie addiction,tolerance,withdrawal - im not functioning now being alone with no family and the anxiety is very severe so i feel i have no choice - i know its not good for seniors like myself to take this long term ie risk of dementia, tolerance,addiction - i never had to take more than 5mg prozac in my life and at this low dose calmed my anxety and depression ie im a marathon runner etc - otherwise healthy but im stuck since im feeling so ill with the anxiety - i hope i dont regret this decision in the future and i hope the klonopin works.....but maybe i will be on it for the remainder of my days - its not like i have that many years ahead of me -

I’ve been on clonazepam for 20 years, but only take 0.5 tablet at night. I am 73 and suffer from anxiety my entire life. This is the only medication that lets me sleep. I also do yoga and deep breathing and maybe that’s why I never had to take morethan 1 mg ever per day, even in a panic attack

I'm going to try this method. I'm prescribed. 0.5mg for anxiety prescribed as use daily but I don't use it every day. I take it when I know I'm going to be in a position that triggers my panic attacks. I should try the 20-minute meditation and if that doesn't work take the pill

Just be careful everyone, you do NOT want to become a daily dependent on this drug. Just like many other brain drugs, the withdrawals are unimaginably painful. Take as needed, and in dire situations (would be my suggestion by experience) Love ❤️

I have had severe panic attacks since puberty. Until I was diagnosed with panic disorder I was sure that I was dying. Once I got a high mg dose of Xanax it worked too well. I went from complete agoraphobia to thinking I was the coolest person in the room. Especially when I started going to bars and mixing with alcohol. After a couple blackouts and embarrassing nights I quit drinking and only let myself take .25xan if absolutely necessary. Since 2020 my panic and anxiety have really gotten out of control. It’s amazing how much more against benzodiazepines doctors have become in the last 20 years. I’m current taking 1mg klonopin tid and it helps with 90% of them.

I was put on Clonazepam for seizures from n infection on the brain I believe I also have acute anxiety it has helped

I do the same thing you do.. I never try to take it more than 1-3 times a week. There’s been times I had to take it daily but luckily never became addicted and it’s been since 2016 that I’ve been taking it. It saved my life to be honest. My anxiety/panic attacks were so bad I wanted to unalive myself.

I can cope with usual day to day, but this on hand keeps me even. Great option to have

My new psychiatrist has stated to me that I was over medicated up with regular Effexor 50 mg. five times a day do you imagine all that in your system! I had a doubt up for seven days that’s 1750 mg I just want to let you know what they did and how he changed all that my new psychiatrist so there’s no way we’re going to do this

I take 0.5 mg Clonazepam for panic attacks and severe anxiety. I take sometimes only in panic attack. My psychiatrist prescribed me this.

Just recently was prescribed it this week & after seeing videos how difficult it can be to come off of it I’m only going to take it absolutely as needed or if I know I’m going to be in a social setting where my anxiety is high, even though it was prescribed 0.5mg 3x per day

Hello I’m from Canada and I always have this question. You clearly understand the medication a lot more than Drs in general, probably do as a pharmacist. Do you think pharmacist ever treat themselves instead of actually going to a doctor?

This is a wonderful drug for me because I have constant 24 hours a day RINGING IN THE EARS and it causes me great anxiety and panic attacks. I take 1mg at night to help me get to sleep. Had ringing in the ears for 2yrs now and wouldn’t wish it on anyone it’s terrible.Its manageable thru the day because of all the ambient noise around me but at night trying to sleep is like a nightmare.but I try not to use it every day because I don’t want to get addicted to it.

I get the 1 mg ones for bipolar disorder. However, I take them sporadically.

I take 1mg 2-3 hours before wake up (in the morning i have anxiety and i have some problems like social phobia and generalized anxiety... ) compared to SSRIs i have less side effects (sexual dysfunctions,suspension crisis etc...)... i feel better with clonazepam than ssris

I get 2 mg of Klonopin 30 a month I just take a half of a half which is a 0.5 as needed. Strangely this medication increases my appetite my psychiatrist said it's because it acts on Gaba just like alcohol ? Increasing appetite anyway it is saved me many times with anxiety attacks and help me with akathisia with my. Antipsychotic.

I've been on every single SSRI and every other so called anxiety medication and nothing but Clonazepam helped me. I've told my doctor this but she refuses to prescribe it for regular use. I'm completely untreatable with any other medication so this is my dilemma.

It’s a better and definitely more new benzodiazepine. If you’re gonna be on this it’s better than all others. Works great for my Tourette’s and stays in your system longer, doesn’t make me as drowsy. I don’t get severe anxiety without this one when I take breaks with combination of other meds, just makes my Tourette’s act up. But you have to manage and take care of yourself like working out etc. Stay busy. Sitting around waiting for it to completely fix you will lead to tolerance and problems. It’s a fantastic medication that should be managed.

My doctor's been giving me 30 of lowest dose xanax every 3 months. I only take it to sleep 1-2 x week. I was on Zoloft but am tapering down. I learned to meditate in 2016 and that's helped me a lot. I had some panic attacks back in 2014 & 2015. They were awful.

My problem is I just can't stop thinking. Very hard to sleep

Great medication for those who can use it AS NEEDED. If you have an addictive personality you will probably end up using everyday destroying your natural GABA receptors and feeling waay more anxiety if you dont dose. If you can control yourself and only take no more than 2-3 doses a week and able to take multiple weeks off benzos can be very helpfull

I was prescribed clonazepam 0.25mg once a day after dinner. I started taking this yesterday onwards, and idk if I feel any effects. I feel like it has made me calmer tho, but idk if it actually has or I just think it has.

Can 0.25 mg of klonopin once a day potentially sufficient for insomnia 30 minutes before bed?

2x2mg Clonazepam daily as well as 2x5mg Diazepam daily for 14 years and going fine. Yes, being on two benzodiazepines is not common but I am living proof it can be done if needed and not destroy your life. The reason in my case is not just GAD,SAD and Panic Disorder (and depression) but due to CNS damage that has resulted in extremely bad RLS, and tremors on par with minor parkinsons like symptoms. I cant write or carry a plate of food. For me god bless these benzodiazepines. On a separate note- SSRI's and SNRI's have done a LOT worse to my body.

doctor prescribed Zoloft (antidepressants) , sedoxil (mexazolam ). And zyprexa (olanzpina) . I have panic disorder and public hallucinations. After taking for one day I got sick and doctor told me to continue only sedoxil for ten days then start Zoloft 25 mg . But after taking sedoxil for 10 days I am not continuing any medicine. Recently I am having much more panic and public hallucinations. I don’t know how should I start again . Can you please help ?

I am a quadriplegic with some use of my left hand. I was prescribed 1mg 3 times a day of Klonapin for severe anxiety l have never taken 3mg in a day. But do take 1.5 mg at night to stop my mind from racing thoughts and sleep. I have been trying to taper but find it difficult I also feel so guilty for having to take it all. I’m 65 and feel it’s too late to stop now.

Hey I wanted to know if you could help me out. I live in NYC, Queens. I suffer from anxiety. Really bad anxiety to the point where my blood pressure increases to dramatic levels 228/167. I some how found a friend who had klonopin, 2mg and after taking 2 doses I started to cry because my pressure dropped and my headache went away. Not only that I felt normal again. I know I have some type of PTSD, and different anxiety disorders, but every doctor has been giving me effexcor which does not do anything. If you could recommend a doctor please let me know.

I am currently taking 10mgs lexapro for anxiety and ocd. The lexapro isn't working very well so I also take 0.5 to 1mg of klonopin two to three times a week. I am getting off lexapro tampering down to 5mg in about a month and then quitting for good. The klonopin is the only medication that seems to work for my panic attacks.

I've been taking clonazepam for just over two years for a severe, extremely rare, long-term choking phobia. I also suffered panic attacks from serious traumas. I'm also clostraphobic in lifts and small spaces with no windows. I have ptsd from a near death experience and big pharma injury from a product in my body. My doctor said I have gad as well. I've tried many natural things, and things like cbd oil and it is just horrendous, highly allergic to it. Antidepressants are just awful as not depressed.Getting to the point of not being able to eat. After nearly choking and having an endoscopy to remove chicken stuck in my asophegeous, my brain went into overdrive. I've had therapy of all kinds to no avail. I met an old doctor who told me clonazepam was very old and very safe. I take 2mg once a day. Some days split in half and 1 mg morning and 1 mg at night so I can eat dinner. It is no panacea, but can eat more things than before. I'm still limited, though. Cannot eat meat chicken and lots of things. My blender and soup maker a saviour. I'm an artist and have noticed some cognitive changes. Although still pushed out 6 canvases in the covid era. One fabulous huge one. For me, it helps, and I'm presuming this is long-term for my extreme condition. It's been the best so far. I've heard a bad wrap about it. I've also had wine while on it. I'm not an addictive person and would not ever require a higher dose. I'm a small frame 42 to 43 kilos. I've been tiny all my life. I have 5mg of valium which I take very rarely. Normally, if at a restaurant and not sure I can eat anything from the menu. Which gives me massive anxiety choking scenarios. Apparently, this starts in childhood as it did with me not being able to swallow tablets. I was also abused severely as a child . This was fine for many years and then became a big problem. Still is even now. So, for some people, this is literally a life saver. For me, meeting that old doctor purely by chance as my doctor was too busy that day has been a godsend. I understand it is not good for everyone. I'm 62 and can still do a 65-inch by 63-inch canvas without falling over, so it can't be too bad. My problem is not cured and never will be,but this clonazepam is a middle ground, for which I'm very thankful.

I'm also a pharmacist and I use 5mg buspirone (I don't know if spells like these in English) following the system that you follow, I only take it after some exercise and valeriane pills.

was on 5mg prozac for decades for anxiety/panic/depression but when i lost mom and dad 4 months ago, my anxiety/depression/ptsd became intolerable and so we went to go up to 20mg and and stayed on it for 4 weeks but wasnt getting benefit for anxiety just depression and dr switched to pristiq 25mg and now anxiety is now even worse! I have a little bit more of a prescription than you, allowed at 2mgs per day and have some similar experiences but some differences. I also do not use it when I feel I can get by without it but that is almost never. In fact most of the time I run out early and depend on RCs like etizolam/tofisopam/bromazolam/fanax for the rest of the month. Was wondering if you think I should talk to my doctor about getting more or some other kind of medication. I am interested in Oxazepam personally but my doctor is very hesitant to prescribe another benzo even temporarily as i am also on suboxone therapy. I wish i had better healthcare, I see upper class people and those who work in healthcare walk out with bottles of xanax bars because their cat is sick and i cant get my doctor to even condense my 1mg klonopins to 2 because i might sell them or something. I have PTSD, panic disorder and BP2 and might be on the ASD spectrum. How do I not deserve a little more relief than that also considering I am 6 foot 3 and over 300 pounds. 2mg doesnt do almost anything to me at this point other than barely take the edge off an attack and theyre supposed to do more than that. It seems like the doctors dont really care.

i have chronic anxiety and panic attacks and have been on alot of clonazepam for it daily but now i take 2 mg at night and .75 in the day but i try to not take any during day and save them for when i have attacks and then i take 2 mg is that okay to do that

SSRIS have done nothing for me. My psychiatrist prescribed me Mirtazapine as a last attempt at an antidepressant but due to muscle spasms and extreme fatigue I had to discontinue it. I am trying to get through anxiety without meds but if things get bad I will start taking Klonopin. If i do take it, how many times a week should I take it to not become dependent on it?

Hey Druo talk, i'd be more than happy to share my experience with with using Liquid Clonazepam. I'm currently and taking Rivotril Clonazepam 2.5mg/ml for around 4-5 years. Would also appreciate you feed back on the liquid for as its the least on the way to give out, understandably . I did take the pills for a short while but did nothing for me compared to the liquid for. Definitely have some stories given i've tried both pill and liquid. I fell there needs to educate folks on being safe when it comes to these somestances. It's easy to overlook the dangers that people tend to overlook. So yes if your willing to chat about it like of just through chat i think i could shed some like through my experiences. Healthing be people healthy when it comes to pharma its far to easy to think 'she'll be right" Education is key!!

Me too. I have neurological trauma from an accident and experience chronic pain and severe anxiety. I find it worked okay for me at 2mg once every 2 or 3 days. I recently went on holiday for 2 months in Thailand. They give them away like candy there ans before i knew what i was doing i am now taking 2mg a day and feeling less benefit. Gonna wean myself down gradually but i am not coming off them because they are the onky meds that help me. I am on carbamazapine which i just read nullifies the effects. Whilst i was in Thailand i came off a high dose of Pregablin and now take a low dose of Gabapentin. Maybe its time to come of the Carbamazapine or change to another strong painkiller. Citalopram i am coming off. Its a useless drug. Staying on clonazepam though. They just will not prescribe it despite 10 years on it. United Kingdom for ya. Back to a responsible dose and i will be good again! In pain but good.

I need to have gall bladder removed and take Clonazepam twice a day (.25 per dose). I’m really nervous cause I know you can’t mix a lot with this for drug interactions. Do you know what pain meds would not interact with the Clonazepam? I see surgeon on Monday and will be asking him this too.
