You actually look really cute/pretty still with no make-up on. :) I appreciate this tutorial as I had done plum semi-permanent over my dark brown/black hair (basically it gives it a plum tint) and was wondering how to best touch up the roots and keep it all fresh.

This is the EXACT colour I want for my hair!! Absolutely beautiful! Quick question: I have lighter caramel colour highlights and I have brown hair (not as dark as your hair), do I still do the same measurements for the colours? And would it still come out like this or would it take a couple times to achieve this?? Also, do I need to do the first part that you use for your roots all over my hair first, then the mixed purple/blue/red colour?? I am so so so so excited that I found this video!! You're hair is gorgeous and you are gorgeous!

Thank you so much!! I would still do the first step to even out the color, otherwise it will pull brighter on the strands you have highlighted. (Unless you don't mind that). You can adjust the measurements depending on how long or short your hair is, just make sure you keep the same ratio if you want it to be the same color I have (it doesn't have to be perfect). The most important thing is to do a strand test before trying anything all over just to be safe. You shouldn't have to do it multiple times to achieve this color, but everyone's hair is different, so I would do a strand test and go from there. Hope that helps!! :)

Have you tried other brands besides pravana? I’m kind of curious because Pravana does not seem to be available locally.

To get this color, Pravana is my favorite as it really locks in the color. You have to have a cosmetologist license to get it locally. Otherwise you have to get it online, which is what I do. Sorry!!

You're so kind, thanks so much! It definitely does bleed quite a bit, especially the first few washes. It also tends to stain your hands, but that goes for most pigmented colors like reds and purples. It's totally worth it though 😊

I love this, especially the no foiling. I see you had blonde hair previously. Did you go from blonde to purple? I have almost black hair and am trying to figure out how to do this? Is the Pravana permanent or semi- ? The.

It's semi permanent. And I did have blonde hair previously, which it definitely will grab on easier if your hair is lightened. But this is the way I process my roots coming in. If your hair is almost black you would most likely have to lighten it a few shades for it to show up. I hope that helps and thank you!!

Did you wash your hair earlier or the day before with just shampoo before you dyed your hair with the Age beautiful and the Pravana?

I can't remember, it had probably been a few days since I washed my hair since I only wash it a couple times a week. You can wash it right before, it's never made a difference for me. Hope that helps!

How often do you use the conditioner with color? Do you use it weekly or bi-weekly?

I use it whenever I notice I need it. Also depends how often you wash your hair, how harsh your hair products are, if you use a heat protectant or not, and also how harsh your water is as those all can result in dullness and fading. I probably grab for it more bi-weekly since I try not to wash my hair more than once or twice a week. I hope that helps! :)

Thank you so much! I'm about a level 4/5 mousy brown. For me if washing 2 to 3 times a week it lasts about 4 to 5 weeks give or take a week. Depends on the products you use, the type of water you have, if you're out in the sun a lot. That will all play a role in the longevity. Hope that helps! Xo

You could use a darker base color, or instead of the vivids line you could get a regular plum color if that's what you're going for. :)

From my experience doing it this way, yes, it like helps open up the cuticle for the color it seems like. If you just put the pravana directly on virgin hair it doesn't take well and washes right out when I've tried that in the past. I hope that answers your question! Xo

It really won't take the color from my experience and will just barely tint the hair and then wash right out. That's why I do the first step of dye and then go in with the Pravana. Hope that helps!!

Thank you so much! Yes, you would. If your hair is previously colored though it may not take as well and you may have to lighten first. Always do a strand test before processing all over just to be safe. :)

Thank you so much! I have and it didn't make much of a difference. Either one would work. I'm just wanting to deposit the color, so by using a 10 you won't have the damage you would if you used a 20 developer. :)

I did to get the color I wanted, they're all nice on their own, but the violet is more of a harsh purple and I wanted more red tones, so I mix up my own color.

If you're referring to bleaching, you may have to if your hair is really dark. I would recommend doing a test piece on your hair before committing all over. Hope that helps!!

So technically you can use any high color dye without bleach it just depends on how u use it...

If it's really dark I don't know if it would show up without lightening, I would recommend doing a test piece first to see how it takes. Hope that helps!
