I had this annoying rattle in my dashboard finally I decided to investigate and came up with this fix. It hasn't come back since! It's actually an airbag under the dash so don't be too rough with it! Instagram: dan_villa83...
Words aren’t enough to express my gratitude my friend. That noise was driving me mad. Mine wasn’t even lose I just pushed it around a bit and the noise went away completely. Thank you brother.
Oh my goodness. My rattle has been driving me crazy for two months. I finally had enough and this is the first video I clicked on to try to solve it. Sure enough, my rattle is in the same place. Thank you so much!
@@DanVilla7 I tried wiggling it, pushing it back and forth and pushing it upwards but the same sound persists. For sure thats where the sound is coming from though.
I just got a 2021 Accord and noticed a rattle/buzz similar to what you were describing. I took your advice and kinda massaged my airbag a bit and could feel it sorta settling into its mount. Lo and behold, no rattle on my way to work today. Thank you for making this video!
That "black box" is actually the knee airbag. Same rattling noise on a VW, I applied silicone rubber on the metal tabs, those who hold the plastic cover in place, no more rattle.
I also had a periodic rattle at low speed that I was having difficulty locating, believing it was in the dash behind the navigation screen. I checked this suggestion and several others to no avail. However, by a fluke I found mine. It was my sun glasses in the overhead compartment, the drop down has a rubber mat, but the plastic sides have nothing. I put double back foam tape on the front two sides and left the one sided protection cover in place and that was it.
Hey Dan, I came here to THANK YOU buddy for making this video. I just bought a 2022 Accord Sport Hybrid and that rattle was driving me crazy and dealing with a dealer is useless (they never find anything). Simple, I did what you recommended me and rattle is gone! Thanks man!
Ohh mann I’ve been looking for the source of this rattle for weeks and it drives me absolutely crazy anytime I drive my Civic! I hope I can fix mine! Thanks for the short and useful video
I've had my 2022 Honda accord about 2 months now and seem to be having the exact same issue in the same area. I'm going to try that fix. Hopefully it works. Thx for the advice. 👍🏽
Thank you. I had pinpointed it down to this knee airbag bc when I tap it rattles. My dealer even replaced the airbag! (Warranty) but it still rattled. I just tried pulling and pushing like you said, so far no rattle on tapping.
I have this exact same problem went to Honda dealer found nothing today went to my mechanic nothing! Driving me nuts gotta go out in a few hours I’m gonna check this out good advice thanks 🙏🏿
Actually there were more rattle sounds which come from my car like seatbelt mechanism , left door piano black part and also this sound that you experiences . After i pushed the part it has gone for now . İ am really scaring to hear this idiotic sound i wish i dont have it anymore ! Btw thank you for your support otherwise i was going to hate the car . (2021 honda civic executive plus)
@dan Villa, so after watching your video for my 21 Accord Sport 2.0 I took it one step further and put a strip of insulation tape between the air bag and the plastic trim to seal the gap between them too.
Thank you so much. That super annoying noise is now gone for last three days... I hope ppl try this first before they break more by replacing heat box....
Another source of buzzing and rattle was the plastic cover infront of it under the steering. There is some metal between the plastic black box and the cover creates that kind of rattle. I fixed it by sandwiching some foam inserts between and now I can confirm that mine is rattle free.
I just noticed it today on my new 2.0 accord. I wanted to pull over and stop in the highway. Couldn’t stand it!! Gonna check and see. Hopefully it’s the same issue
Dude thank you so much! Been trying to find the cause for that annoying noise on the dashboard for days now! It was driving me crazy too! Never thought it would come from that black box. Appreciate it! Let's hope it doesn't come back.
I'm going to check this out in my 2019 CR-V. I have a metallic-sounding rattle that also resonates from the left vent area. I thought it might be the heater core, but not 100%.
There is a little metal plate down by your right foot (side panel) near the gas pedal..... That fix my issue I had for years... The sound travel to the dash
Well I found the problem on my 2015 crv. On top of the spare tire was a tire change kit containing few metal pieces to change the tire I guess. Those were wrapped in a plastic pouch etc. I'll ways felt the the noise came from the passenger side but tried everything with no luck until this. Finally there is no noise anymore. I wrapped the metal tools individually in cloth so no more noise.
Going to try this. I have a vibrating noise that seems to come from all over like that. Hard to believe it could be coming from down low because it sounds more like middle/high/left but my God I hope this works because its driving me crazy.
i think that black box under the steering wheel is connected with other plastic parts on the dashboard thats why it sounds like its coming from ac vents.
mine’s a 2018 honda civic and sometimes it make raddling or ticking noise right at the center of the steering wheel, so i wonder if this car must’ve been involved in an accident and they didn’t install a new airbag properly
I had plastic squeaking noise from my accord 1.5 2022, dealer fixed it by wrapping foam tap around plastic buttons that holds center console from inside, it was so annoying whenever it goes over sharp bump
I have a 2.0 2022 and it’s giving me a ticking noise as well. everytime i accelerated or hit a slight bump it would just tick tick tick im gonna try what you just said and see if it changes
Thanks dude hopefully this is the issue. It’s been driving me fucking insane. The other noise is when it’s parked once the engines warm I’m hearing a chirping noise. Idk what it is.
I have this exact rattle in my 2018 that is driving me crazy. I’ve tried pulling, pushing on the box; this temporarily fixes it for a few bumps then it comes back. I finally had the dealer “look” at it and they said it was normal. They said the tech took the cover off and put it back on and said nothing was wrong; beyond infuriating.

I took mine in last week for this issue was getting noise from the hud area and cluster, they just put new foam piece and an updated part. 2 days later noise came back again. taking it back to the dealer tomorrow.
i tried, it's definitely coming from the hud area and cluster. it's a known issue with the touring models when i hold down the top of the cluster the rattle/squeak goes away, once i let it go. then it comes back i let it slide for about a good 6 months cause i be having my music blasting, so i can't hear it. we shall see tomorrow afternoon when i take it in.

I think that all Japanese car manufacturers has a same problem,,back till 2018...,mine is with Mazda 6 2021, in the simillar place. Till now, I did¨t have any problems, but I think all of them starts to have a poor quality since then.
Hi bro, I have accord coupe 2008 in saudi, i’m facing some rattling on dashboard while taking jump or road ties. But I couldn’t found the issue. Please help
I personally don't have any experience with your model. I wish I could direct you in the right direction. All I can say is keep trying to replicate the noise and lock in on where its coming from then try to put pressuer on the area and see if it stops and go from there. Best of luck
The rattle is actually coming from the foot vent plastic to the right of that black box cover, it would appear to probably be that area but sounds travel, it took me a while to pinpoint exactly where it was coming from, what a pain in the ass, right at about 1100 to 1200 rpm it vibrates, if you put your hand on it when it vibrates it stops, plastic just snaps together, and is screwed to dash underneath, tough to fix. Its a plastic 2 peice vent prone to vibration, would have to come up with a custom fix, exopy, foam tape , etc, my 2018 does it every time at exactly 1100 to 1200 rpm, nothing is broken or wrong with it either and it doesn't do it every time thank goodness but I still can't stand it and want it silenced
I have a 2020 TLX base model that makes the same rattle from that area. Only when I’m stopped tho soon as I come off the brake it stops. I will see if this is it.
I’ve been having an insane amount of rattling coming from the drivers foot well and a passenger door is been going on for about a half a year already driving me insane.

Dash rattle starts when I get up to 40 miles and above. I have the same symptoms he described. Not affected by going over bumps. Anyone out there ever have that and found out the cause??

we have a "rattle" coming from the dash on the passenger side corner under the windshield. sort of sounds like two large marbles clinking together every time the road is bumpy. it's driving me insane!
@@Mid3hunna needed to get the part replaced. The plastic cowl that sits below the windshield outside. The vehicle is what was flapping around. One of the clips was broke so it wasn't sitting flush. Once they replaced it, the sound went away.
How did you know it was the windshield cowl that was causing it? Just so I can ensure it’s also coming from there & dont end up replacing that part in case it was coming from elsewhere the whole time🤣
I have a lot of rattle noise coming from different parts in my 2023 civic touring , I HATE those noise, I'm seriously thinking about spend all my savings and change to bmw
i have a Honda Accord Sport 2015 and i have a noise inside in the dashboard when im driving. i have days trying to find a solution but still havent found it. Please if anyone knows what is the cause of that noise i would really appreciate it.
Thanks, but mine is coming from the passengers side/transmission. It only happens at 3,000rpm and it follows the rpms so. 2021 Accord 2.0t with 500 miles on it.
Its a common place to get rattling. Some sound deading or foam would get rid of it. Mine only rattles/buzzes because I added a JL sub. Otherwise mines pretty solid no rattling.
Ok I hut the thing you said and it still going I think it got worse what’s the best step I should do next if anyone one could help me it drives me crazy
@@DanVilla7 Unfortunately I’m not that handy. The car is still under warranty but I worry once they start tearing things apart that they will create new problems.
I have the same problem im going to try this I took my car to my dealership and they could’ve done anything or it will go anyways every time I took it to them but as soon as I left it will start again it will stop and go anyway at first I thought it was my engine but my car is new 22k miles
I have a rattling noise behind the steering wheel only when the car is cold and the rpm is around 1500 to 1800 , after driving it for 5 min the noise disappear . Anyone has an advise ?
I get rattle after cold start and then while driving for next 5-10 mins. After the engine warms, the rattle stops. On bumpy road I hear it mildly, sounds something is loose...any suggestion. Here the video I recorded. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9JGkxDXs400.html
Oh wow can definitely hear that. I couldn't tell from a video. Havw you had someone rev it for you and look under the hood? Are you sure its definitely coming from the interior?
@@DanVilla7 I had rattles from Central console, dealership replaced heater box as they said. Then now getting this rattle. It happens from cold starts, when the car is off for 3-4 hours. Do you hear some sound from engine when it starts, not like the rattle in video. My dealership said that sound is normal. But I am curious, if that's the case.
