The batteries in my my Bissell Adapt ion were tired and worn down so I decided to create a custom battery pack and give it MORE POWER. Old pack was 2000mAh, 25 amp max while the new pack is 6000mAh and 30 amp max.

To all of you wanting to know how to open this vacuum up, here's how to do it. At the front of the unit, where the dust bin attaches, there should be a black top handle cover. Pry this up using a pry tool or screwdriver at the front of the unit. Pry between black and blue plastic. It will come straight up. Four tabs on the side, one on the back. Remove Four Philips screws from the top of the unit. Remove/loosen SEVEN Philips screws from around the center of the unit. Prior to taking the black cover off, only two of these are visible. Keep the 4 and 7 screws separate. The are not the same. Cut the Mylar label along the seam. Use a guitar pick / prty tool along the bottom and top of the unit where the vacuum just doesn't feel like coming apart. It should open. No need to force anything other than the initial pry of the black top handle cover. Everything else comes apart easily with a mild amount of pulling and some patience. I'm pretty sure everyone who viewed this video was after this information, instead of just a 'book report' of the results of having done this.

Eh, I'm not a pro vacuum RU-vidr, I was just sharing how I upgraded the batteries. I'll sticky your comment so that people having trouble with the black plastic part know what to do.

Remove trim piece around the two buttons it is held in by little tabs. You will then be able to see 4 screws holding the larger trim.

Correct. You have to remove the black trim around the two buttons to gain access to four smaller screws holding the blue trim.. It's held by four tabs. It's a real pain. I popped two tabs by getting a flatbed screwdriver from under the front of the blue trim.

Had to do that with an older Dyson V7. Ended up getting a pack that was double the mAH. I didn't have to do any soldering. Just removed some screws and cringed as I pulled plastic pieces apart that were not meant to be pulled apart once put together. I looked at that spot welder on Amazon, almost pulled the trigger on it. See what I did there? Yeah, I'll show myself out. 🤣 Do you like it? Could you do a review on it?

You got me! I thought for sure that you'd fix it for once and for all, with your choice of 'boom stick' I didn't really think that you are serious here. Hahaha!

I couldn't find any videos on how to do this so I made it. Completely unrelated to my typical vids but I do that sometimes.

@@Huntinggearguy "A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do!" somebody once said. That aside, I can certainly understand what you did here.

Popping the 5 (visible) clips on the blue cover does not seem to be sufficient to remove it. You have obviously taken it apart without damaging yours. Before I make a mistake and break a tab or clip, could you provide info about how to dismantle? Thanks!!!!

Sometimes, a Cord is just much better. Power Cord, Ethernet Cable.

Hell yeah man. If you can't take it apart you don't own it. Right to Repair legislation is way over due.
