Sister, I used to be in both of those ditches, the Lawlessness, abusing the grace of God, to the other side, Legalism, the LORD showed me a very similar scenario, the two ditches, and the middle ground is being led by the spirit. Hey sister, I believe I'm struggling with this balance! Either I get into legalism or get into lawlessness and couldn't be on the balance. Even when I do, it's short-lived. But this wasn't the case few months ago but from a particular situation, the things went downhill. I praise God for you mentioning to identify what caused me to get into this. I was able to look back and see that particular situation which started all of this and just the way the Lord has showed you all the insecurities, the Lord is revealing a lot which I wouldn't have realized if this situation did come through. Thank you so much, sister for the word and the encouragement. This is helping me alot. Do keep me in your prayers, whoever is reading this cuz I'm yet to receive complete freedom from this. And I believe that Jesus will set me free once for all from this imbalance and leagalism especially. God bless you all. Peace be with you.

Hard relate to falling into that legalism ditch here as well! Hey Hannah! About the legalism stuff, there are a couple Bible verses that come to mind about this: "Be not overly righteous... Why destroy yourself? Be not overly wicked... Why should you die before your time?" (Ecclesiastes 7:16-17) “If you love me, keep my commandments." (‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭15‬) It is a very delicate balance between these verses, but God and Jesus understand that, and Jesus is willing to die for us to help us carry the heavy yoke of the Old Covenant. Jesus takes that heavy yoke, and puts a light and easy yoke on us instead! Be not overly righteous, Hannah, why destroy yourself you goof!

It is letting go of the voices in your head, letting go of what others think or say, letting go of our own imaginations & learning to humble ourselves like a little child & be led by JESUS, who is FAITHFUL. That is where the rest is (Mt 11:28). 1:04 I had a friend who wore a tail to college back in college, and he called himself a furry. I called him Star Fox, while others gave him nicknames like Fox Tails, etc. He was a good friend of ours; we didn't agree with him wearing a tail, but that was his thing.

Some people are still happy wearing " boring " and " baggy "clothes because they like it and do not see it as being legalistic. They were probably raised that way. They want to please the Lord and not the world or their own flesh. All I'm saying is that doesn't make you legalistic. Yea of course if being that way is making you sad or depressed or if it isn't your style you don't have to live that way. And it is important to dress modestly more than anything.

I only came to this revelation yesterday where I believe God started to remind me of who He created me to be....I've been trying so hard to be someone I'm not and it's created alot of blockages in my life. Why are we trying to be so religious, when the Holy Spirit isn't even religious?! Now to balance this all out. I have been thinking about the fact that, we want our homes to be clean, we want our cars to be clean. We keep our physical bodies clean daily, and everything else. But we seem to neglect the Spiritual Cleansing that we so desperately need!!

To a follower of Christ, there are two aspects of judgement: Law and faith. We are not to judge others according to God's law, as we also have transgressed it. In this believers make themselves hypocrites, as all are guilty of breaking our Lord's precepts. (James 2:10- "For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.") We can however, judge professing Christians by faith, as Christ's sacrifice is greater than man's inequity. This is an important distinction given that the difference between condemning someone for breaking God's law in spite of our own shortcomings, is quite different from judging the spiritual peril of their ways as stumbling blocks. Faith judgements are not lawful ones. It is not illegal to place our hopes in Christ, having paid the fine for said inequity; nor is it illegal for others to not place hope in him and attempt to pay said fine themselves-which sadly will lead to damnation. Jesus' disciples cannot righteously judge unbelievers for remaining guilty under the law they once were. Remember that vengeance belongs to God alone and he will pay back each according to what they have done. Our perspectives will not sway his verdict. The only differences between said castes are what you've already pointed out: that, as saints, we've accepted Christ's offer to pay our court fees and entered into an eternal fellowship with him. (Praise be to the Risen Lord for giving us what we don't deserve.) Now, if a person claims to be a Christian and is conducting themselves in ways that could foster self-deceit, or lead others astray; they have given us license to judge by the person of Christ, of whom we testify as the exemplar of moral perfection. If we do indeed believe on his teachings, the gospel cannot be anecdotal. After all, we didn't say they were Christians; they did. In this, it is not sinful to presume that our brethren would rather avoid the consequences of rebelling against the Most High-especially where that concerns unrelenting torment. If they continually refuse to be objective; then God is either not a real, or important enough priority to them. Perhaps it's mere coincidence, but I came to the same epiphany you did around my mid-20's; only your testimony is more impressive because 19 years ago people were still fundamentally decent. Nowadays, it is as our Lord said: Demonic doctrines have coaxed society into becoming resource consuming beasts; lacking self-awareness and supplanting it with self-absorption--while operating under the belief that carnality is the summation of the human experience. Moreover, trans dogma deceives its adherents into creating themselves in their own image instead of God's, Planned Parenthood is nothing but a contemporary veneer over Canaanite Molech worship, and It definitely doesn't help matters when the state is subsidizing narcissism, either. How you've gained such wisdom against these spiritual odds is certainly evidence of the Holy Spirit at work in your life. Take it from a cat hermit who spends their days looking for strays to share his Taco Bell with. Lowly credentials to be sure, but then again; are we not called to be humble?

If you don't do what John 14:15-16 says you don't receive the Holy Spirit. Can't be lawless and not obey the Torah and receive him. We don't make up what commandments apply to us we are told in the Torah too. What you call legalism YAHUAH calls love and He tells us that's how we love Him. What spirit is behind not wanting to obey them?

Thank you for admitting your mistakes. The Bible says to confess your trespassing to one another . I think you are still in legalism but at least you are a little better. You need to fully obey God and not man and your selfless ambitions . You still haven't fully surrender to God but at least you are getting better. I was sexually pure for a whole year and fell into sexual sin last week . Please pray God has mercy on me.

And I can see that it came down from the restrictive teaching/legalism. At the time I couldn't put a finger on it, but something felt off. Jesus says to pray for our daily bread. Not to fall into the world and materialism. Why get materials here where there are thieves and moths that destroy your goods. Rather find virtues that are good and eternal, and God will reward you in heaven where no thieve will rob or destroy your wealth. God wants you to have goods, but in this world there are good and bad people. These bad people can do bad things for your wealth. So be good and God will reward you in heaven. Also, if God favors you, you can have wealth in here but those people that get wealth blessed by God are not focus only in wealth but by good things too.

i think every man and woman of GOD, active in the ministry should get rid of all forms of social media. its dangerous and usually an entry point for compromise, temptation and eventually sin. Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” - 2 Corinthians 6:17 we should be ready and willing to give up everything for the LORD. social media should not be a big deal to give up. social media is obviously a pattern of this world.

I went through this and coming out recently. When we set our eyes on Jesus & have the holy spirit living in us we automatically follow his ways because we are in love with him, he changes us from the inside out, becoming a new creation operating from a different code basically 🤯. We cannot be saved from the law (our own works) the law is death. funny I feel we need to be ministered the gospel over and over again and it will continuously change us over and over for eternity, even though on the outside looking in, it's a simple story
