My first car was a 2009 Cobalt SS that was a theft recovery. Got it for $4,000 and the only damage was a dent on the door from the crowbar.

The fees on copart are ridiculous, I bought a car for $400 the total price ended up being $1150 never using copart again

I got my srt 4 from copart, and i think its the best first car i could have gotten and it was super cheap and highly recommended it!!

Hey Chris! Thanks for the encouragement man. Ive always bought cars with mechanical problems to fix and flip, Im just more comfortable in that area. I have however, had to fix collision damage on cars Ive owned and damaged, or helped friends fix etc. You have now encouraged me to look for cars from copart to fix and flip. Cant wait to get my feet wet. Great channel, thanks for the great vids and advice.

Often the ones I pre-bid on that are "Pure Sale" will all of a sudden change to "minimum bid" when it is scheduled for auction.

I buy from copart in N. Ireland and have never gone to view any of them, just had a really good look at the pictures, which are normally very good, so far it has worked well.

So I basicly learned today that there is a copart website for Germany... So instead of beeing broke I will now save all my money, get the long time wanted first project car and will be broke with a project car. :D But seriously: Fantastic to know that there is a Germany site. I signed up for copart and got super excited to find a project. But in mass we are not allowed to bid!

Its good to check title type or status as well...some cars are branded as parts only or title of destruction which I think means you can get it cheap but will have a really hard time registering for the road. As far as I know anyway.

Copart in the UK works the same way for the most part, you are required to send in proof of address as well as your drivers licence, there is a £50 membership fee but you do not require a deposit. An individual can buy any vehicle so long as it is not a cat B (breaker). There are fee's that is how they make money they do not own the vehicle's they just sell them all auction houses work the same way in that regard.

my uncle bought my dad a truck from copart and it has electrical issues, the catalitic converters are plugged up and the check engine light is on..... it also has a 4 different tires and rims. he has also bought several Porsches, mercedes' and a few economy cars and they've all required ALOT to get them in good running condition. despite seeming "good" and being deemed as cars with "minor dents/scratches"

It's best to buy in-state if you can so you only pay sales tax to Copart on the purchase price of the vehicle. If you buy it out of state and bring it into your state, you will pay sales tax on the actual/assessed value of the vehicle and this can be a substantial difference.

I live like 2 miles from a Copart yard. They just keep expanding the thing. They finally put a high enough wall up, so that you couldn't see all the cars from the road.

I've bought 5 cars from Copart. 3 from my state California and 2 from Philadelphia

Would you recommend this to a person who has like a couple months of driving under their belt like a 16 or 17 year old, and that want a project car. Would this be a great idea? Oh i found out their was a lot 3 hours away from me lol in Moncton.

I hate it in my state... Virginia. Have to be a dealer to buy ANYTHING from Co-part. But reading blow someone complained of the fees. And after looking closer I agree. The fee ARE RIDICULOUS. You buy a $400 car be ready to pay $600+ in fees!!! Fees for dumb stuff like internet bidding fees and a fee for just picking the car up! Fees are practically doubled with Co-part auction fees and then a second just as big transaction fee. What the hell kind of crap shoot is this????

Good luck Copart just stopped selling and allowing access to anyone who is not a certified and licensed dealer or exporter. With required proof of export and sales.

Can you go in person and look around the lot without having an account or anything?

I found my truck listed on copart. Long story short, I inherited it from my dad, I couldn't afford to fix it, I got my insurance payout and placed a bid on it. It's a pure sale, so as long as I'm the highest bidder I'll get it? Or does it go to live bid after the online bid?

What about hail damage? I am new to Copart; 'am waiting to see what hail damaged cars go for; 'assuming big bucks, but it seems like a good deal for me.... (I have teen drivers and tend to drive cars until they die)... Would you buy a hail-damaged car with 10,000 miles and hail damage?

Is every car on copart been involved in an accident even if the doc type shows clear? If you buy a clear title car but it has been in an accident, then you try to sell this car, will the bank that is giving the loan less likely to give a loan if the car was in an accident even though it is a clear title?

How much did you pay for the Mustang? I'm looking to buy a 05-09 Mustang GT and want to know what would be a good deal on it. What is your opinion on water/flood damaged cars. I mainly want to use it for a parts car so as long as the engine runs, transmission is good, driveshaft and rear axel works and the gauge cluster works would I be alright with a flood damaged car or should I look for one that was a wreck and salvage the parts I need.
