Ok but I relate to the "if no song fits this character there's something wrong with them" thing :')

I usually write for myself. Not in a selfish way but more in a "I wish there were more stories about this" kinda way. The demographic and such usually comes naturally with the tone or subject matter I'm shooting for. Although, sometimes I'll come up with an idea while consuming some form of media. It's kinda like how stimuli will trigger random memories but for the creative process.

Actually, the target audience thinking seems really helpfull! Because, sometimes I think about some ideas and I'm suddenly like : who am I even writing this for?? Idk if that made sense...

What I do to get my book/comic ideas is to ask a question about a simple plot, and build off of that question. It’s the simplest way for me and if you can’t think of a plot, try to think of something you haven’t heard of. Or just make some character, and play around with some other characters and see if a plot can be made.

Do you have tips on putting a twist on your character/stories? Cause I tend to fall for clichés a lot and it annoys me so much :'D (sorry if you already made a video about this!)

Read Junto Ito’s stuff it does body horror well and it might inspire you Play Doki Doki Watch the Saw movies Maybe watch the third (?) final destination Read a few well known comics and see how they do the panels. Questions to ask • ask yourself what scares you. Murder hornets sound scary to me so that can be something... • now do you want psychological horror, body horror, cosmic horror, simple Hollywood horror or a sub genre I don’t know about? • now what’s the best way to keep your readers up at night? Are you going to make them question everything about themselves because the real horror is inside them all along? Are you going to make the horror something unpreventable? Are your readers going to go “pfft I could beat that thing”? Specific horror advice: - sometimes there is *more horror* in not knowing what happened than knowing what happened - your heroes should not “really” win. (They may have won a battle but they didn’t win the war kind of thing or they just lost the war completely. However a human beating an elder god makes the elder god look less scary even though it eats babies or something) - use your human character’s dark sides. What’s scarier? Murder hornets coming to the US on accident or robot bees made by a serial killer with the same lethality. For comics in general: • Your Key frames/big plot points need to be the biggest panels. • You panels don’t have to be clean squares. You can cut them in half, elongate them, throw circles in there. But do it for your STORY not because it looks cool. • DESIGN YOUR CHARACTERS SO THAT THEY ARE SIMPLE AND MAKE A REFERENCE SHEET • DO NOT PUT FIFTY ACCESSORIES AND FRECKLES ON THEM • Draw landscapes • Experiment with bubbles. You can write like this: (you can write like this...) or (you...) (can...) (write like....) (this.......) Two different moods keep that in mind. • EVEN IF YOU ARE DRAWING THE COMIC PLEASE WRITE A SCRIPT AND EVEN IF IT SAYS “big camera on top right man in center” IT IS BETTER THAN NOTHING The guy in the video (don’t hurt me I don’t know his name) probably has better advice and may have said this but I hope it helps

I have had the gift to be able to find pretty good ideas I’m about to make a comic and this is what it’s about if you feel like it you can definitely use some ideas ok here we go so it’s about this girl modelling school and these 4 girls start there and when they all graduate they go into the same company together then they realize what happens in the modeling business and it shows them during there contract trying to survive hiding the fact about what’s going on I mean yeah it’s pretty dark but I’m in love with the idea and right now I’m taking some time off from big projects to really think about it sorry for the long comment tell me if you like it :) have a great day

Do I have any Pokemon artists here who like to make a comic? Does anyone remember when Brock entered Geodude in the Grand Prix for Fighting Pokemon, back in season 1? Must've been based on Geodude's muscular "physique" and toughness. I can think of other non-Fighting type Pokemon that should be allowed: Greninja, Tsareena, Rilaboom, Grimsnarl, Incineroar, and Dewott. Basically I just want to see a comic of these Pokemon taking on the type they aren't but should be. Tsareena and Hitmonlee kicking each other would be pretty cool. Maybe Greninja taking on Croagunk and later Poliwrath (its fellow frog Pokemon). Or Rilaboom battling Primeape or Infernape (fellow apes). Anyone interested? We can discuss plot and whatnot.

I take prompts and somehow twist them into my ideas of a completely different fantasy-adventure genre out of them lol. So they really suck. It’s just another limitation and more effort I have to put into writing.

A bit weird you're a writer but you say you don't read a lot. One of the basics of writing is usually studying the craft itself.
@AsifHassan
@AsifHassan 3 года назад
Sometimes you don’t learn from reading itself. You can only learn how to write by practicing. No amount of reading is going to prepare you for the emotional rollercoaster that is writing.
