I found that thinking of what I wanted to do as a career helped me narrow it down. So for me that was being a doctor so I looked at what I needed to study at Uni and what the entry requirements were. I then chose my A levels accordingly. I have a few videos on Medicine if you want a bit of convincing haha. Hope that helps 😊

My only advice is to pick what you like and what you really enjoy. In Y11 I was down to study Chemistry Physics Maths and Computer Science. I also considered German at one point (???!!) I'm now studying Chemistry Biology Maths and Further Maths - you'll change your mind, I'm glad I did! If all else fails, pick A-Levels which will be generally useful to get you in the general field you want to be in - it doesn't matter if you don't know for sure. E.g. if you wanted to possibly work in science, chose as above, but if you wanted to work in social care, things like english, sociology etc. etc.

Hi Jade! I'm an O Level student of science. When I was in 7th and 8th grade midterms I struggled with chemistry a lot. I got C's till then For 7:05 I was pretty much impressed how relatable this advice is. After I solved many end of chapter practice questions from 2 textbooks including "red spot", I made my base more expert and finally got a B in chem final. Which is the second 🥈 place after A (90 above)

I did my A-levels 12 years ago. I am glad that I grew up without smartphones and Internet but I am also a bit jealous about how much easier it seems to be nowadays to learn basically everything you want online. I really could have needed these resources for Maths :). Success with your interviews at Oxford. Best wishes from the Netherlands.

I've had a pretty mixed year so far for chemistry. I got a U in my very first assessment (14/29) for amount of substance, minus ideal gas equation and concentration/titrations), but resat it a week or so later and got an A (18/20). Then I got an A for atomic structure (31/32) and amount of substance part 2 (43/44). However, I dropped to a C (29/41) as I didn't learn all of the shapes. Thank you so much for the tips! I'll definitely be applying them to my revision (especially the bit about practicals).

JADE CONGRATULATIONS ON 100K! i am so proud of how far you've come, i am so so happy for you. im only doing gsce chemistry (and biology) at the moment but i know for a fact, youtube videos are amazing if you dont understand something in lessons. freesciencelessons has saved me, i watch the videos more than once, make sure i understand it, make notes and then turn to the blurting/mind mapping method to revise during the end of topic test.

katie I was the head girl at my school (not sixth form like Jade) and I think the most important thing is being active in school life, e.g. helping out at events and so on. I had a couple of interviews but I guess that is different for each school! :)

ughhh jade your videos are always timed perfectly, I actually enjoy organic but we did an amount of substance test last week that I already know I've failed 😂 it's funny because I take maths and I can't do any maths in chemistry right! I use chemrevise and it's so good, think I need to try blurting for some other topics ❤ thanks for the tips

I'm a Post-Grad at Imperial and i'm doing Advanced Chemical Engineering - I swear there are people in my class who aren't even half as organised or meticulous as you are. You're actually a monster. For organic chemistry I recommend drawing out reaction maps :) they really help :D (I'm in my final year of a chemistry degree)

Can you please do a video on what to do if your teacher is awful at teaching! I’m doing a level and my teacher is not engaging, she doesn’t give homework, and we don’t learn. I have been doing a level for quite a few months and we were working on page 1... HELP ME !! I have a mock in January and do not have any knowledge of my subject! Many students have reported the teacher but nothing has been done. I’m thinking of getting a tutor but I shouldn’t need to pay for extra tuition when the school should provide education...

If you do another one of these videos for the whole A level could you mention machem guy! He’s a chem teacher on RU-vid who makes really helpful videos especially for OCR students and even put out some exam predictions and specific help for each exam this year (and previously), he helped me so much and think it would be great if he could reach more chemistry A level students (also just a genuinely lovely guy), love your videos and hope your exams went well 😊😊

you should do videos where you actually teach your followers things like teach them about chemistry and physics. it’s a good way for yourself to study and it’s good way for us to study as well. you seem like a very good teacher :)

Yeah I did WJEC so chemguide was helpful for us! But what really made me pass was my friend going through everything with me constantly. She’d talk about the topic and we’d have to say as much about it as we could. She’s the reason I passed.
