Clickbait algorithm chaser SHOCKED when viewers call out clickbait! You won't BELIEVE what happens next! For real, i wish game dev youtubers would stop trying to be little clout goblins. If you didn't make a title that said "STOP USING THIS ENGINE" to farm views, and instead called it like "Godot's Physics Engine Needs to be Reworked" you wouldn't get backlash. But oh no you'd get viewer views 😢

Lol. This guy is so sad. The clout sharking is unreal and he fails. And I mean it, it's one of the saddest things I've seen. His awful games have peak 100 downloads on playstore, with some of them having 1 download or 10 downloads, because he is making slop like match3 or clicker with zero content. Games you can make in a few hours following a tutorial... It's just goofy since "game dev youtubers" are just blind leading the blind like this guy. Who made nothing good and didn't achieve any success, but he is trying to chime in his opinion like it holds any authority. And almost every gamedev-tuber that does tutorials chimes in his bad opinions. At least if Toby Fox or people that made Hotline Miami or Jonathan Blow say something then it's like "oh okay, they made hit games, so it must hold some truth at least. Like their design philosophy is in their games, so it must hold some water" Just look at his videos: "I made pong with chatgpt" - 200 views "secret of godot 4 you don't know about" - 500 views There are some videos where he calls godot a scam, just to month later make serious of videos like "how godot plans to smash unity"- all that for a measly 1.4k views All those videos trying to find some "hit" video that will get big views by trying out every "catchy" topic and it just keeps failing. "How to Get job in game development - 53,578$ per week" (2k views), "How to ACTUALLY make money as a game developer - 5,385$ usd per week" (1k views) These videos are especially disgusting, since it's the same guy that has 1k views average on a failed YT channel and tutorial-template games that have 50 downloads on PlayStore. That's it. And this guy is gonna lie and make shyt up how to achieve success they don't have, lol. "How NOT to make money with game development" (500 views) - Just posting this channel is enough. No videos needed. Lol. "why your indie game will FAIL" - 1k views "3 ways to make money while lazying for game developers" - 81 views, "3 ways of making money online" - 93 views - this guy spams 20 videos like that for a month, hoping one of them will gain some traction and he will get some pennies. Like 10 usd in his Latin American country. "How not to get a job in game development" - 97 views "Why you should give up on game development" - 1.2k views "How I would learn game development if I could start over" - 1k views. Another stolen NPC copied video. This guy literally looks up popular game dev videos that blew up and thinks that copying the title will get him easy lazy views lol. More slop videos about AI, clickbaiting about Godot and trying to ride the community for easy money, clickbaits about making money, etc. - totally serious person that will be treated with respect after they see his channel But obviously this guy is not serious. He doesn't want to land a job in IT or make games. Just wants the fastest and cheapest way to make "easy money". He doesn't care if people will blacklist him. It's all about those pennies. Unless this channel is made for money laundering or some social security benefits scheme, then ok, that makes sense as well.

You had a legitimate complaint about the default physics but the short literally made it seem like rage bait or you didn't know what you were talking about (since the example was very simplistic and actually showed godot with SEAMINGLY realistic physics). That being said Jolt is goated and tbh it doesn't even matter if it gets adopted as the out-of-the-box solution for me. At least you took the criticism, defended it where you were right (in balance with other acknowledgements) and didn't throw a tantrum like a certain strawberry.

You can't complain about "hate" and say you were trying to be helpful when your title is telling people to stop using godot. I think people would've responded very differently to you if your title was just more like "godot's physics sucks" or "fix your physics, godot!" Then people could respectfully disagree...or give you a high five because they share your pain. Let's put it this way, if you regularly went to a bar, maybe got to the know the bartenders, the people there, and then some critic put out a video telling everyone else "don't go to this bar!" ..would you expect anyone who cares about the well-being of that bar to be friendly to that critic risking business for it? vs a video with the critic saying "please fix your bathroom!" well, then the patrons who've had to use that faulty bathroom would probably agree instead of being pissed at them (pun intended. ha)

@@lettacorporation So rather than be transparent and upfront, you load your titles and rhetoric with misleading information then demand people sift through specific parts of your 11 minute video for clarification that shouldn't be needed in the first place? You're not so special that people will carefully parse your wording, the average person is going to see the title, watch the first 10% of the video, and form an opinion about you and your content on that. You just might not be built for making RU-vid videos if you can't understand why you're getting so much friction on all this.

For all this talk about "empty comments" you should consider looking at the title of the video that caused them. Try something else instead of inflammatory over-reactive statement to tell people to "STOP USING this engine that has a sub-par physics engine" as clickbait. You're just as bad in that regard. And yes, Godot does have problems with the physics, but not all games use physics, and for some the amount of physics required don't amount to the gains elsewhere. I'll remember to completely remove you from my YT recommended list entirely next time I've been served anything from you, since you're not adding to goodwill either. Thanks.

While i didnt post a hate comment when i sae your short i did think "the hubris on this man, gadots emulation of the physics properly models an inelastic Collison (as will happen in real life) and inelastic collisions are significantly more challenging to model than perfectly elastic ones, which probably means he just didnt set the settings properly" I had assumed (having no experience with gadot) that the perfectly elastic collisions you were after simply occurred at some higher threshold, it turns out if that comment you added is to be belived gadot just has aerodynamic drag on by default (which was why energy was leaving the system and the ball was bouncing lower and lower). This meant that the issue with the physics you had in your short was operator error. Now its physics engine could have problems (again i have never used it) but you cannot really claim "i dont know how this tool works there fore it is a bad tool and you shouldn't use it"

@echillykahlil

my dude... when you get to the I'm sorry part, just apologize. Your sorry not sorry comment is really insincere. You do a good job of elaborating on your points, even going so far as to show a comment that explained the behavior, sure, you admit it was controversial clickbait for views, and I mean, more power to you, for that; and showed a comparison with jolt, yet didn't try to compare godot with the dampening off to see if that fixed the problem. Yes, you said it takes more involvement with godot, and based off your experience it works differently, which is fair i suppose, but you still insulted a huge community of people, shit on their work on purpose, and then took the time to create a video to give the impression that the godot community are unreasonable. Yeah, some of it is just empty hate, the same way any group of people will be at odds with another group about their passions, and you even got the stock standard FOSS response, and it being in its own section shows that you didn't realize it was also empty, and that you don't interact with the FOSS community as a whole very often, which is fair. But this video is defensive, its doubling down, and its showing an absolute lack of maturity on your part. You pissed off a community of people who do a lot of hard work, you understand why they're pissed, then made an anti apology video? What is a person to you? What does it mean to be human for you? I get it, you stepped on a landmine and got hurt, and felt the need to respond, thats ok. We've all been there. Trust me. And sure, woo hoo, you got me. I watched both, I commented, I disliked, and I know that "any publicity is good publicity" and controversy and hatred sell. I'm an American, trust me, I know how that shit works. but come on, really? Don't bother liking or responding, I won't be back, I don't like your style. Enjoy your 4-5k views, good luck.

Hello, thanks a lot for sharing with so much detail your view in all this. Will really have it in count, for sure. I would love to comment in every single line, cause I find them pretty insightful. But well, a whole video could be made just for your comment... Just a quick comment, I didn't insult the work. Is insulting the work showing what doesn't work well in a FOSS? I don't know... For me that is more about being open towards feedback. Of course, maybe the title and the way that feedback was delivered wasn't the best. But anyway, there are still comments showcasing what could be improved after all.

Sorry but your argument or point seems circular. You want physics. i.e. how items react and fall in a space affected by gravity, and yet you don't want the ball to be affected by gravity, the literal definition of physics. Plus your arguement that it can turn people away is also weird. I know that that Game Dev is hard to get into, I myself have been through various game engines before I got to Godot. But if you want an object in your game to react in a way that it wouldn't in most cases. I don't think it's asking too much that a little bit of extra effort is needed. The Physics isn't broken, your understanding of what physics is, seems to be.
@lettacorporation

Telling people not to use Godot is like telling people not to program in Scratch. Dissing such an invaluable stepping stone to learning how to code, program, and make games is foolish at best and destructive at worst. Shame. What's worse is that this is a terrible example, so not only is your message invalid, but the argument is not as good as it could have been. BTW, even in Godot, you can make some incredible games.

I think anyone that has blind hate for someone for using the same softwares and engines that they're all using and has made a video talking about it no matter if you good or bad and the whole community goes after them has no right to be called the community. I mean they are but technically not a well-rounded community. I think this notion that just because something is created and a bunch of people like it doesn't automatically make it a community.
