You are so cute. Glad you got your license. I've heard from my friends in Germany that it is very costly to get a license, so thanks for the details. In the US no school classes are required which could explain why there are so many bad drivers in the US. Many high schools provide driving classes as part of the curriculum. And private lessons are much less expensive than what you paid in Germany. There is a requirement that a learner log 65 hours of actual driving expereince before taking the test, but it is on the honor system, so you write down how many hours you drove. The cost is less than $50US just for the license here in Pennsylvania where I live, but each state is different in the US. My daughter, who lives in B-W, exchanged her Pennsylvania Driver's License for a German one, and she had to give them her old one to get the new one. In the US there are no different classes of licenses, so they gave her the unrestricted German License.
Oh thank you very much! 😊 That's so interesting, how you do it in the US, thanks for the information! 65 hours sound a lot. I think I drove like 20-30 hours before the exam 😅 glad that she was able to convert it so easily in Germany.
