You are so cute. Glad you got your license. I've heard from my friends in Germany that it is very costly to get a license, so thanks for the details. In the US no school classes are required which could explain why there are so many bad drivers in the US. Many high schools provide driving classes as part of the curriculum. And private lessons are much less expensive than what you paid in Germany. There is a requirement that a learner log 65 hours of actual driving expereince before taking the test, but it is on the honor system, so you write down how many hours you drove. The cost is less than $50US just for the license here in Pennsylvania where I live, but each state is different in the US. My daughter, who lives in B-W, exchanged her Pennsylvania Driver's License for a German one, and she had to give them her old one to get the new one. In the US there are no different classes of licenses, so they gave her the unrestricted German License.
Oh thank you very much! 😊 That's so interesting, how you do it in the US, thanks for the information! 65 hours sound a lot. I think I drove like 20-30 hours before the exam 😅 glad that she was able to convert it so easily in Germany.
I am new to your channel and found your videos quite informative. Keep them coming and I am sure there are plenty of people who will benefit from it . Where are you from Originally though?
Thank you very much and welcome to my channel! 😊 Yes, I will do, new videos are in the making :) I want to keep it as a secret where I am from at the beginning and I will reveal it later on. Where do you think I am from? ;)
@@Hannah_Ozz Well you're welcome. I like your videos so far and i hope they are many more to come. I can try and guess but what if i get it correct , how would you let me know that its correct and also keep it a secret?😅
All social benefits are NOT for free!! The honest tax payers pay the bill! That's why they are pissed when the social systems are exploited or the big companys like Starbucks, McD and the rest of the usual suspects pay an ridiculous small amount of tax. Plus: the litttle shops around the corner have to pay normal %, cause they don't have the resources for all that cheating!!
I love to do practical stuf at plant or company as mechanical engg. I have doubts that i am planning to coming germany for my master in mechanical so which is better ( TU or Applied science UNi.) for after study my job chances are hire like sure? What are the major city that i choose for my master that best for me as mexhanical background? Is job market is good or not for job wise in getmany as a mech.?
It depends on what you are looking for. As I went to a TU, I think it is better in terms of research, learning more in depth about certain things and educational offerings. But if you want more time with professors, doing practical things etc applied science uni would be a more suitable option for you. Getting hired is never for sure to be honest but getting a masters degree and learning the language in the country would surely increase your chances ;) Any of the TU9 in Germany would be a good fit but you can also search for specific topics, like industry preferance, offerings in the curriculum, expenses in the city etc but I am obviously biased for TUM :D I'd say so yes, eventhough I am not doing things that are directly related to mechanical engineering any more, there are a lot of job opportunities for engineers in Germany in general. Hope this helps! :)
Phew. Great, we Germans have a culture that impresses and attracts other nationalities. Oh no, it's just the problem-free travel with the German passport. Mrs. Merkel would certainly have personally handed a passport to a Martian who landed in an emergency in front of the Reichstag. Welcome new citizens of Germany! But evil Martians always respond with lasers and the Merkel story would have had a happy ending...
just crawl over the border and claim to be fleeing from.... somewhere, somewhat. Doesnt really matter, we are not picky. When it comes to citizenship, we are like Oprah.
What was your original citizenship ? Because you look like a ethnic german. I would never guess that you were born outside Germany. Obviously if you were born in Europe , that still explain look.
The things is we will never ready for big changes, they just happen then we learn how to adapt. But I hear your point, I think the world doesn't even have the space for it 😅
Oh wow, I didn't really think about the heartbreaks 😅🙈 but they usually go away after a while 😉 I totally agree with the environment aspect, we would really need to do something about the way we live on earth. That's the most important thing
Herzlich willkommen in Deinem wirklich neuen Zuhause Deutschland liebe Hannah! und herzlichen Glückwunsch zur deutschen Staatsbürgerschaft. Now let's get started: Learn how to "schimpfen auf hohem Niveau"🥰🥰🥰 No, I am just kidding! "It is funny how some of us needs to work a lot for the things some people are just born with" So is it dear Hannah. We do seem to be thankful to things that we have to work hard to achieve and ignore things that we are just born with. Wishing you all the best in Germany Hannah and be lovely and adorable as you always are. Liebe Grüße aus The Land Johanna
Herzlichen Dank, Johanna! ❤️🙏 Hahhah schimpfen auf hohem Niveau, das wäre für mich wahrscheinlich auf Bayrisch schimpfen 😄😂 Vielen lieben Dank für Deinen netten Kommentar! Your kindness made my day! 🤗 Liebe Grüße!
no way before that, like my second year in Germany ahaha. I organize my shopping card before the register now 😂 I think that must be a part of the integration test 😂😂
German nationality is an burden and only a tax number which will stick under your heel like shit the entire life. I think there are better nationalities in accordance with the rule of law. I'll do the contrary way but I cannot get rid Germany's access on my life of it for the next 10 years as tax payer expat.
I am really interested to know, what you are doing now? I mean what the career you are in and what do you do as a mechanical enigneer? Are you using that Mechanik und Mathematik theories you learnt in the University?
I work in consulting now, mostly around IT / software related topics for industrial companies. I am not using a large portion of things I've learned as mechanical engineer e.g. mechanics, thermodynamics, material science etc, but the problem solving skills, methods and concepts and coding I've learned as an engineer 😉
Some countries actually allows their citizens to have two passport if needed, but you have to have some kind of document to proof, that you need another passport 😉
Yes, that depends on the country. It wasn't possible in Germany for my country when I got the citizenship but they are changing that law starting from next month 😉
I paid it a few days before picking up the certificate at the end. But I've heard from friends that they are paying it at the beginning with the application start now. I also think that it may depend on your city. :)
Very amazing video,I cannot explain in words. I always think in my dreams when I will get German passport I will do this ,I will do that. And Germany is amazing country to be in and live there. And this video is like my brain imagination in reality form. Loved this video too much ❤️. I have request can you make videos about how to know which public university would be good to study for computer science in masters with no or low tution fees. Because many people say that in Germany ranking of qs or any index that ranks universities that doesn't matter much so I am confused that how to select universities and how to know that they are even worth it or not. Currently pursuing my bachelor's but I am preparing early so that I can manage everything on time and learning German as well so that at the time I arrive in Germany I have b2 or C1 level German proficiency. To integrate in the society better. Please make this video on this topic .
Thank you for reaching out! It's normal to feel confused, take your time to research and make the right decision for you. It is mostly a personal choice in my opinion. If I were to study again, I'd pick CS just because based on my experience in the job market so far. But you are going to be the one who is going to do it for a long time, so it is important that you'd enjoy / find the subject interesting to begin with.
Thanks for sharing. Just got my antrag and your video helps me understand the process better and also thanks for the tip around giving up the previous citizenship. I’ll keep that in mind. And congratulations!!
I wanna ask it is really possible for someone from South Asian countries India for example to get German citizenship in 3 years or it's a gimmick if we exclude the fact of waiting time. And if yes what a achievement or things we have to do , I am coming here for masters in engineering in public University,c1 level of German proficiency may be c2 after 2-3 years. No criminal record,no social security opted from state all boxes checked.
The new law will be in effect starting for this year which will make it possible to get the German citizenship within 3 or 5 years depending on the conditions of the applicant. It was 6 or 8 years before that law. People with "besondere Integrationsleistungen" (special integration qualifications) can get it in 3 years. These qualifications would rougly include good language skills, voluntary activities or very good perfomance at school or work. They do not have a specific definition for that.
No, it depends on the country you are from. And there is a change in the law starting from June 24, dual citizenship will be possible for more countries. :)
Yes, it is currently in the making. I was just gathering some ideas around different videos, I might do some street interviews with students in the future. But videos are coming soon in the next weeks ( I just need to push through the downs of quitting caffeine in the next days 😅)
very cool! I respect the caffeine quitting and trying new things! I really want to know though because I have attended college here in the states and I know European schools may not be as party heavy as we are. But it’s slightly overblown because a lot of schools aren’t as party heavy or you have to be in a clique. In fact a lot of students end up going to the bars and stuff and that’s the partying not just house, frat or dorm parties. I want to see the difference and commonalities. Also want to live in Germany in coming years so always interested in learning more
@@Hannah_Ozzaweee! But I want to know I am curious. One reason I want to move to Europe soon is I am big on culture and knowing people and meeting people. My friend group here in the states is like super diverse. Friends with probably people from over 20 countries. Like actually good friends.
Yes, there is a change in the law, which will be in effect in the next months. I will be possible to get the citizenship in 3 or 5 years depending on your qualification. I can do a detailed video about it in the future ;)
but then there are a lot of layoffs in the field of CS/IT because of AI. now there is AI that can code. but then when you want that AI to be in form of a robot or in vehicles mechanical engineering comes into play doesnt it? Im in my final year of high school and i plan on taking mechanical engineering mainly because it is the heart of engineering , it is a wide course like i can to mechanical engineering then later do specialization in automobile / robotics / energy industry right? please help me out over here cuz i think there is a scope for this course but please help me out over here
I don’t think the layoffs are connected to the rise of AI. I think that AI still has a long way to go until it can fully replace a software engineer. It might be helpful for accomplishing simple coding tasks or some small refactoring, but when some complexity is introduced AI might not deliver the best solution, or apply the best practices. About taking Mechanical Engineering, In my humble opinion, it’s more about what you like more and ready to take. If you are really into that stuff it would probably be the right decision. Also it’s one step away from CS and you can always study ML so you won’t be replaceable. Getting different opinions and doing some research will surely help you decide. Good luck.
I also don't think that the layoffs are connected with the AI. In my opinion, they are mostly related to overhiring due to Covid and not enough expansions in the businesses due to recession. AI can code but it takes an experienced software engineer to get the right prompts, understand the differences in the code and do the necessary debugging. I think that studying a subject is a personal decision you should make based on what you want in your future. If you are interested in machine parts go for it, you would like the studies. I know a lot of friends from mechanical engineering doing similar things to what we have studied and they enjoy their job. I also know a lot of mechanical engineers who work in tech. I am also glad that I studied mechanical engineering because I have an understanding of different engineering subjects in general. I just wouldn't do it again because my work is mostly around software related topics and sometimes I really wish that I focused more on the software side. Even in the automobile / robotics / energy industry, while there are a few people making the actualy hardware design, there are a lot more people working on the software components. At the end of the day, you could do similar things with both studies. It really depends on what you find interesting to begin with. As long as you enjoy what you do and get good at it, you would find great opportunities 😉 I wish you all the best with your decision and good luck! :)
