Very Practical Advice! Geez, I wish I had a template to go by when I took off to study Spanish in Cuernavaca, MX in a language intensive school back in the day. Any experience of immersion in another language is truly transformational! I recommend folks take advantage of these great tips and use the bureaucracy website to cut through the stress and just enjoy the ride:)
LMAO. I had the exact same experience with wanting to be a magazine writer (a la Christopher Hitchens, Gore Vidal, Didion, etc.) but then I realized those jobs don't exist anymore. Thank god I didn't, unfortunately, waste my time and money going to journalism school, however, aha. Sucks.
Teach English in Spain?! 😂 The Spanish don’t want to learn any other language. Most of Spain is very nationalistic and prefers to speak only Spanish. Trust me I know. I am Spanish. That’s the truth.
Not true for all Spanish people! I met plenty who really wanted to learn English during my two years living there. And Spain's government pays native English speakers to teach English there, so there must be incentive
