A fun journey searching for two amazing vintage MX bikes that were stolen. Even if you’re not a motorcycle fan you may enjoy this documentary and the details surrounding this case. Leon friends a new Leon update is coming soon.
The fact your narration is normally delivered in such a gentle, measured tone made the line _"My first thought was those _*_fucking_*_ thieves had revved the engine to hell and back"_ all the more powerful and relatable to the feeling of impotent frustration and violation one experiences after a burglary. Especially on your own property. Great story and a great outcome!
Same, I rewound and put on subtitles, I didn't believe what I heard! I well understand that frustration and anger. I said a lot worse whenever I've been robbed!
Hearing you call the guys assholes made me giggle like a kid who hears a respected adult swear. 😂I'm so happy you got your bikes back. Hope you updated your locks and maybe put up some cameras.
Me too... but being an Aussie, and other than "the correct situation" I swear like every second word!! haha... overall, so glad he got his bikes back, and those 2 or 3 swear words are just a tiny bit of the anger we all feel to those "thugs and a$$holes!"
@@keithtarrier4558 100% No shame in swearing. This situation would have had me dropping bombs all over the place. It was just funny because he's usually so proper and innocent in his videos about Leon. 🤣
yeah he needs to make a video assuring us (and the thugs) that the place has better security and a undisclosed amount of HD video cameras pointed in every direction. No one should take something that does not belong to them.
Glad you got them back and there was no serious permanent damage to either of them. You were VERY lucky. Hearing 1978 referred to as "vintage" is making me feel old.
From lobster and cats to bmx bikes and cave explorations Brady you're such a talented man and an inspiration in all senses, I'm so glad I came across your channel it is indeed a blessing. Wish you nothing but the best, thank you for so much wholesomness, hardwork and inspiration.
Ha, I knew I identified the voice right... immediately checked the channel and expected to find Leon videos (but I forgot about my blocktube-extension that hides watched videos). When the footage of that crimescene showed aquariums I had to check the comments... and I was right!
Awfully glad to know your bikes were recovered and I hope the other losses were insured. Good sleuthing too with your drone! Don't know a fig about motor bikes but I recognize the passion for the things you treasure.
I saw the video appear on my phone, and immediately heard Liam Neeson's voice: "I have a particular set of skills, and a very hungry lobster...I will find you and feed you to him!" So glad you got them back, Brady!
I'm so glad you got the bikes back! For us, it wasn't bikes, but we lost £14K of clothing we imported from a small designer in Toronto. The detectives were wonderful, they knew exactly who did it, because he was just a local addict who routinely stole stuff. However, they also knew the fence, and went to bust him. Sadly, our stuff was all gone, except for one of our holdalls, that we'd described to a tee, including small tear at one end, and the guy's wife had several of our garments hanging on the bedroom door, still with OUR labels attached. She said she bought it from 'some guy at the pub carpark'. Long story short, we never did see any of our stuff again, we trawled through markets and 2nd hand fairs, and shops, over 4 cities, but it was a long shot, and never saw a thing. We did get the few items from the house returned, probably about £300 of the £14K. It destroyed our business, and more crucially, it destroyed our passion for our business. My partner at the time said instead of feeling pride when he spotted people wearing our stuff, he just felt suspicious. Thieves don't give a shit about how deeply they affect peoples' lives. For you it was years of investment in your bikes, for us it was years of building up a business and reputation across Europe. I'm pretty sure even if the stuff was returned to us intact, we would have still felt violated, angry, frustrated, victimised. I fucking hate thieves.
Yeah, my grandfather’s garage was broken in the day he was burried and all his vehicles were stolen. The local police just laughed at us and told us it wasn’t their problem. You’re pretty lucky you were at least listened to.
@@c0mpu73rguy That is horrendous!!! What a horrible thing to happen!!! I'm so sorry you and your family endured that. Our police were great because there was a spate of thefts in the area and they knew and hated the guy who was organising it. I cannot imagine the added anger and frustration from not being listened to and feeling that at least something was being worked on behind the scenes. :(
I remember when I worked at a restaurant back in the late 80s one of the coworkers there was trying to sell an expensive Charvelle guitar for a mere $150. Coincidentally the next day some of my friends in a band mentioned how their $1500 Charvelle guitar was just stolen. So I helpfully pointed them to the culprit. It was pure luck and I could imagine the guitar could’ve permanently disappeared. I hope the vintage price of your bikes caused the thieves to be charged with grand theft, plus damages. But…hearing about all the meth heads and the incompetent prosecutors in the area where I live (Southeast Missouri) they will probably plea-bargain out and not serve any time.
Yeah, I wasn't very far away in neighboring Arkansas where the meth heads got my MINT '93 Shadow 1100 AM Classic and absolutely destroyed it before I got it back. I'm a grown ass man and cried a little when the cops showed me where it was and what had been done to it
@@Aleikey It really was devastating. Was a fully original mint American Classic. And to this day I have no idea how the hell they got it out of the back of my truck, through 3 separate locks and carried a 780lb cruiser half a mile down the road where the hub luck & cable lock were found cut off. A month and a week go by and I get a call from Garland County Arkansas asking me another 10,000 questions, finally admitting they'd found it. TWO MILES from where it disappeared. With no paint on it, tank dented on both sides, the handlebars hanging down by the cables, bald rear tire (so they'd been riding it; for a while), pipes cut back, it was a shit show. And they made me pay $200 to get it out of the impound lot they took it to. So I think the county knew more than they were letting on just because I was an outsider from out of town up there to ride the mountains that Spring
I think one of the most surprising things in this story is hearing the police doing their job and being successful at it. Glad you got your bikes back.
Actually both departments were 💩 first department couldn't figure it out and couldn't make the connection, and the second set let one get stole again and it could have been both instead of having him come pick them up immediately, typical lazy police officers not wanting to do the paperwork ,so let them sit 6 more months in the weather ....glad he got them back though.
You were so lucky to have gotten both back. My son in law had his motocross racing bike stolen out of his driveway. He lives 5 mile outside of town. It's been over 5 years now so he will never see that bike again. This happened in Wyoming in a town of less then 5000 people. So happy you found yours.
Glad you got your bikes back. I remember my dad running down a thug to get my stolen Mountain Bike back when I was a kid. I saved so much paper route money for it. He basically made a citizen's arrest on the guy. They had changed stuff on my bike too. So weird to get something back that is so familiar but so foreign at the same time. Your video made me feel good. Thanks for that :)
Back in the day when I didn't have an attached garage, my bike was parked inside my house. It looked just fine in the dining room. I'm glad you got yours back.
LOL- I used to know several guys who kept their bikes in the living room because - well because you know. I'd forgotten about that. Makes me happy to remember them. thanks
You could easily be a voice actor. Consider contacting Motel 6 to rekindle their interest in "leavin' the light on for ya" since Tom Bodett departed 😂😂😂
I have no words to say about how sorry I am for this for the invasion of your property or home. NO one should feel unsafe inside their own sanctuary. I am glad you got the bikes back. "Thugs" was the correct word. 👍👍👍 Hi to Leon. Glad he is OK buddy and you all too
Those are beautiful bikes. I'm glad those thieves were not the violent type (they ran instead of attacking you that night). The way you focused your energies on solutions is admirable. And once you got your bikes back, the way you undid as much of the damage as possible was beautiful to watch. It's obviously in your nature to heal/restore animals, plants, and things around you. I believe this is the best a human can achieve. We need more people like you in this world.
That's your good karma coming back to you for saving Leon, Brady. It's almost a miracle you got both bikes back. Big respect for your proficiency at restoring vintage bikes and your care of Leon. Two happy endings. I love your channel 👍❤️⚔️🔥🐴
WOW, Brady! You're incredibly lucky in getting them back! Vintage bikes like those can go for a cool penny or twelve to the right (wrong) people. Hope you've stepped up your security BIG TIME. 🙂
Hello Brady, I am so glad you got your bikes back, not many people understand the passion and dedication that goes behind restoring a vintage bike, it can take years sometimes to fish a project, thanks for posting your video,,all the best for the New Year, cheers from Aussie Land
Hey sergep yeah you are so right,… it’s more than just losing a bike you bought at a dealership,… it’s the personal sweat and time,… lost. Happy New Year from Georgia, USA. ✌️✌️✌️
Wow this hits hard and makes me so happy. When i was 15 someone stole my '78 yz125. never got it back. loved that bike. worked all summer cutting lawns to get it.
I am fan of restorations and this is one thing that I'm always worried for the people I watch, to have all the time, hard work, money, all the blood, sweat and tears, the frustration to just be stolen, I am so thankful you got the bikes back. I know some aren't as lucky.
Those two bikes are absolutely gorgeous! After the obvious and loving restoration put into these bikes, I'm sure you're proud to have them featured in a magazine article! I also had one of my motorcycles featured in a motorcycle magazine...... It was a 1976 Yamaha TT500 Thumbs up to you Brady!!
Wow!! I was looking for Leon updates and found this amazing story. You really lucked out. We were robbed and my dad’s antique Simplex was stolen. Over the years we’ve been cleaned out 4 times. We had the bike in an old building that had no windows. They managed to get in anyway. Glad you got yours back.
I'm so glad you were reunited with the beautiful duo. It's awful that they were treated so badly - If you haven't please upgrade your security to keep everything safe! I'd hate for anything like this to happen to you again.
Born in '68, this story had my emotions excited as I grew up right next to an old strip pit where bikes were humming at all hours. I got my first 125 at 12 and had so much fun!!! As happy as I am for you I was also a bit disappointed that Detective Brandwood wasn't the one who located your bikes, lol! I know, it doesn't matter...they're back in your hands now, Peace.
I live in Rutherford Co NC, i literally keep my bikes in my house & have a couple of real nasty dogs. It’s literally every week around here you hear of bikes or atvs getting stolen. So glad you got yours back!
Life has some mysterious paths. I am a Leon fan, and I think that Leon's luck on being found and saved by you is less than one in million. You recovering your bikes, and over than that in a good state, is also one in a million. Maybe "The Guy" that plays our odds above us showed some appreciation! :) Best regards!
As much as I would be pissed off about my bikes being stolen, I would be twice as pissed about my tools. My tools are an extension of my mind and hands, they help me create, problem solve and serve me well. “ Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world “ Archimedes... Glad you recovered your bikes.
I won’t lie. In my heart of hearts I was hoping you were hiding in the shadows as they were cleaning you out and leapt out and threw Leon on them, who dispatched them readily! Sick ‘em Leon!
Watching the moment they stole your bikes was very sad, but hearing about them coming along a second time right after was just infuriating! I can't even imagine what it must have felt for you that morning. I know I would have raged so hard! I wish you could have gotten all of your stuff back. But gotta be thankful that you are safe and sound and got your wonderful restorations back. Pleeeeease put up some cameras and alarms! Love your videos!
wow and I thought this were just a Leon channel! Thank you so much for saving these vintage bikes! I just finished restoring my 1987 Kawasaki KDX 200. F the people that stole them from you but so happy that you were able to recover them, most stolen bike stories don't end this well! Tread lightly my friend
So glad you got your bikes back. I imagine it's the drugs that makes these kind of thieves so incredibly stupid. I had a scooter stolen from a race track. The kid was a stoner, and left an easy trail of breadcrumbs to follow... he bummed some gas off of someone for the scooter, then tried to borrow a helmet from someone close enough to the trailer park he lived in that the guy was able to point me to the trailer park, I was able to find the scooter, knock on the door, and have a few strong words with the kid's parents. They were thankfully embarrassed for their kid's behavior. I could sense your frustration, and applaud your determination in getting your bikes back, after working so hard to restore them. I lost a pit scooter, but if it were one of my motorcycles, I don't know how calm I could possibly be about it.
I'm a girl in my late 20s who found you through Leon. I have no interest in bikes or cars or any of that stuff but I'm all caught up on your cat and lobster content, so now I guess I'll binge some motorcycle vids! I just can't get enough of your narration. I really enjoyed this one and I'm glad you got your red bikes back!! Huge respect to you for your talent, your kindness to animals, and the way you share your perspective.
You bring good feelings to strangers you will never know from sharing your adventures with Leon. Thieves bring misery upon themselves by their selfish deeds. Glad to hear this story has a happy ending you really were blessed.
Dude I came across your channel by accident. I first watched the video of you saving the lobster you had me hooked because I love animals and I’ve always wanted to do that with everyone I see great job the next video I watched was this one and I’m a motorcycle woman so I’m hooked I’m so glad you got your bikes back I hate thieves you seem like the kind of guy I would love to hang out with
Glad this ended well. I know the pain. I got to the shop one morning and one of the garage doors was open and instantly I knew I had been robbed. The thieves backed a pickup in and cleaned me out. Put me out of business. It took a couple of weeks and a butt load of money to get back to where I could resume business.
I love seeing peoples passion in restoring historical vehicles. My Pop restored his 1971 Plymouth roadrunner that he owned since he was 18. we would go to car shows with her and he had so many trophies in his garage. I have very fond memories of growing up with that beautiful car and I'm sad we had to sell her. Sadly in 2020 my pop passed from cancer and since he was gone we had no one to take care of the car anymore and we couldn't just let it sit in the garage. She's been sold to someone in Ohio so I dont get to see her anymore but I hope he's being taken good care of, I miss that car and my Pop.
Great story! I love the emotion in this video! When I was 5 I got my first Honda 50 with the clutch. At 6 it had to be rebuilt due to me not checking the oil. I learned from that even that young. I ran it every day and at the age of 8 it was stolen never to be seen again. Heartbreaking yet I moved on but will never forget. Even at 45 years of age. Thank you for the wonderful videos! You make me smile!
Maybe train Leon as a guard lobster? Seriously though, I’ve had old Hondas - my favourite was a CJ360, and I can totally understand your love for them.
My grandfather had a Honda CT90 my sister and I grew up riding on, and eventually drove around the yards. Doing a google search to find one like it, all the ones these days are beautifully restored. I hope whoever has it now is restoring it, and I'm so thrilled you got your bikes back!!
Great outcome for you, a vindication of sorts. I really enjoy your films and have followed the saga of Leon from the start. Entertaining and informative, I commend them to friends and my kids watch them also. Here I see another side of your personality, the vintage bike restoration, and more entertainment to come. I have a shed full of older Dirt bikes, mostly my own from the 1970's. I regret selling so many of the bikes I have owned over the years, especially my silver tank CR125M, but you cant keep them all. cheers to you, and Leon, take care and I am happy you were reunited with these bikes.
Heck yeah brother! I came here for Leon videos but stayed for all of your content! I’m so glad you got those bikes back! And I’m amazed at the effort you put into finding them!
I am shocked you were able to get the bikes back. So much of our property is being damaged and stolen today and no one ever seems to get caught. I’m glad you had a happy ending.
@@Bradybrandwood Thank you for replying. It makes us feel like we are friends with our favorite RU-vidrs. Looking forward to your next Leon video too. 🙂 Happy Holidays Brady! 🎄👍🎅
I'm so glad you got your bikes back I was afraid you wouldn't. Having those pictures and serial numbers recorded really helped to prove they were yours too. My apartment was broken into 3 days after Christmas and they stole everything. The only thing that was recovered was my TV because I had the serial number recorded in my owners manual. Now every time I make a big purchase the first thing i do i take pictures and write down serial numbers. I grew up riding motorcycles, my first was a Honda 50 then a Honda 70 then a Yamaha 125. I rode dads Yamaha 250 and his 360 also, man those were the days. Dad and I rode together along with friends we camped with back in the 60's and 70's and went to races. I liked riding in the powder puff races the best. Our friends got into trials bikes and we had a Bull Taco also. That's awesome your bikes are from '78, that's the year I graduated high school. Those were definitely great times. I really enjoy watching your videos about Leon also. Sorry this is so long but you reminded me of some really great times growing up.
Your channel is so full of interesting things, I'm really glad I have found it. Your two vintage bikes are greatly restored, hats off. Shame you couldn't get your Suzuki parts back. I had the chance to own an old bike (Suzuki RF 900 1996), I restored on my own it as much as I could and did a 4000km road trip with it (2500 miles~). What a blast it was. It was an ugly and it was worth little money but I worked on it with all my heart and passion, and if I could, I would have kept it as long as possible. I couldn't imagine the frustration of all this work being stolen for drugs. Glad you had them back !
Glad you got them back and they weren't too destroyed! Would love to see a second channel from you about restoring vintage bikes and whatever else you restore.
I love a happy ending! Glad you got both of them again! Back in 1978 I took my girlfriend for a ride on my 1973 Honda CB350F. We stopped at a pizza shop for lunch and when we were done eating, we went out to the parking lot to continue our ride and found our helmets sitting neatly on the asphalt of the parking spot we had used. The bike was gone! I called the police, of course, who told me that the bike was probably already at a "chop shop" in pieces to be sold off. They said they'd look for it but that chances were that I'd never see it again. They were right. I've had many others since then, but I miss that bike. Btw, I'm currently restoring a 1988 Honda VT800C. Hopefully, none of the replacement parts I buy come from a "chop shop"!
It was jarring hearing you swear, lol. I’m sorry this happened to you, dude. I had a break in when I was going through a rough period, and the police were no help whatsoever, they essentially laughed it off and said good luck. I ended up needing to settle things outside of the constraints of the law to get my stuff back, so I’m glad you had a better experience.
So glad you got your bikes back. Being the victim of a theft like that can be really difficult to deal with. It was great to see you turned a bad experience into a good video. :)
I remember seeing this video and meant to come back and check it out as I’ve enjoyed many of your earlier videos I’ve watched after finding your channel when Leon’s story really lit it up. I scrolled back after watching Leon’s latest installment and found it again. I’m a little late to the story but still super stoked that you were able to get those cool babies back. They look like so much fun plus I can see your passion for them in the detail of their restoration. Hope you’re still enjoying them and invested in better security.
Oh Brady! I am SO glad you got those beauties back! Those sound like my childhood, haven't heard that in a while....it felt good. Looks like it's time to plant some cameras, eh? Because I'm betting those junkies told at least one friend about your place. I wish you and the Fam a VERY Merry Christmas and a Festive Holiday Season! May your cranberry sauce have chunks of orange and walnuts, your toesies be warm and your hearts full of Joy! Pass a pet around to the kitties and toss a whistle out the door for the wild birds from their friend Betty!
Very glad that you got your bikes back Brady! I did watch both of your resto vids. It’s a dam shame that people like those thugs exist. But one thing for sure we didn’t create them. I’m sure you’ve upped your security and hope something like this never happens to you again!!
Hey Brady (great name btw) so glad you got your bikes back. My dad has an old Honda dirt bike that hasn't run in years but I remember riding it as a child and just having so much fun with it. Hearing yours come to life and that old two-stroke engine "ring-ping-ping" noise they make brought back many happy memories. Thanks so much for sharing.
What about the 1989 RM250? Were you able to get all of those stolen parts back? I wasn't sure if the parts were still in the tote you found. Super happy to hear that you got your bikes back!
I love your Leon videos, and saw this video on your feed. I myself am an avid dirt biker and have a vintage Suzuki. I would be devastated if something happened to it. I’m so glad to hear your bikes are okay. They’re beautiful!
I am so glad you got both of your bikes back! That is simply amazing that you did! What an amazing happenstance that you did! It is a miracle, it really is! You have become part of a lot of peoples family, because of your raising leon on youtube, and sometimes thats a good thing and sometimes its a bad thing. And unfortunately someone probably followed your story about your bikes rebuild on youtube and knew what you had. Im so glad you got them back though. It couldnt happen to a better person. You deserve the miracle and devine intervention!
So happy you got them back but for me I would be quite upset that someone was messing with them like you were. I pray for you to never have to go through this junk again.
Fascinating video Brady. Those bikes are beautiful. I hope you've solved the problem of safe housing! Thank you for sharing your drama with us. Love happy endings.
I am damn proud of you for not only restoring those beautiful bikes, but getting them back! So many people go through that… and just give up and cut their losses. That’s what pos thieves always assume the people they take from will do. 🤘😉 Right on brother!
I doubt the scumbags even consider the victim. Lucky to see the bikes again. The Arabs chop off thieve's hands. Bike thieves deserve to lose a foot too ! Lets see em steal another bike then.
Pond scum !! that’s what I call them . We could feel your relief on getting the bikes back. I was really worried you were going to add something about them trying to break in and hurt Leon . Just writing it I feel rage . It’s weird how a lobster and your sharing with us has created this world wide following . greetings from canadan
So happy for you Brady. You can see the love and care you have showered on those bikes so they can thrive and be their best selves again. Just like Leon.
I'm glad you got your bikes back. They are really cool looking and you obviously love them more than any of the bozos who ended up with them. How long were they missing before you got them back?
Brady, I’m glad you got your bikes back. As someone who also likes to work on machines, my heart sunk when I heard your shop was broken into. I’ve been waiting to hear this story since it was mentioned on another video, hope things are going well for you and Leon!
These bikes are clean af. Good to see you got them back. Kind of a miracle, like the cops said, normally stolen vehicles disappear off the face of the planet thanks to some chop shop or being sold, bought, and sold again by shady pawn shops and random people.
Glad you got your bikes back, Brady. Too bad you didn't get it ALL back, though. I don't trust ANYONE and that's why I have guns and security cameras ALL AROUND my property. I also set traps and have boards with spikes strategically placed as well. I pity the assholes that attempts to relieve me of my hard-earned property.
Had my car broken in at work & waited hours and hours for a rude cop to finally show up & yell at me for touching my car to see what was missing. Bellevue, WA, I worked 12 hr night shift, and she shows up after I would have been all the way home (3hr commute 1 way)🙄🙄🙄 So, you can say I'm also shocked that there are police that do their job in my country. Not that I hate all cops or something, but Seattle area cops suck (not the only situation I had to deal with...) Sorry, I guess that was a bit of therapy for me😂
Brady, By proxy, we need to catch up with ANY associated thug involved and pay our "respects" to them. My blood is boiling! Glad you got your bikes back, but that does not excuse what they did. I don't have much confidence the judicial system will take the appropriate action. Consequences need to exceed the crime committed.
I can't imagine how pissed you would've been imagining all of that work being stolen and then also damaged to an extent ruining precious work you put into it. thank god you got your bikes back
great job getting them back. I too had a theif break in and steal my quad, when it was 4 mnths old,and got it back. I lived in a farming area similar to yours. One night a 13 year old boy, who had previously done the same thing, cut a hole in my chain link fence and stole my new blaster. woke in the morning and called the sheriff, made a stolen vehicle report. 2 days later i got to lookin outside the fence, and noticed tire tracks and vans shoe prints. I followed them for about 3/4 of a mile till they led to a certain house. i ran back and called the sheriff again , i showed them what i found, they did their work and called the next day. they found the kid and he told them he took it but didnt have it. he had left it in a corn field so his mom wouldnt find out. I recovered the bike with about $200 in damage to it
