I just can't get over the fact that I'm stabbing myself. I can't get my hand to make the movement to stick myself.

*just an update, in case anyone is freaked out about this too, I watched the video, then just sucked it up and I did it! I definitely worried for nothing. The Ozempic needle is SOOOOO thin. I honestly wasn't sure it actually punctured my skin until I moved the pen and saw a tiny spot of blood. It didn't even pinch. Much less painful than a finger stick or even a shot! Glad I just got it over with!* I've been a medical professional for over 20 years, and I have no problem at all getting a shot, checking my sugar, INR, etc. but I am still really freaked out about injecting myself with the Ozempic pen for some reason! Thanks for making this video!

I just did my first Ozempic injection and it took me a full hour to psyche myself up. I found your video and listened to you while I finally did it. I didn’t even feel it! It was literally nothing! Thank you for your video and making this so much easier! 😘

Thank you for this it’s hilarious. I’ve given birth naturally twice with no pain meds and yet this pregnancy, I have to go on insulin and I’m scared of a stupid little needle. This was very helpful. I appreciate it.

Thank you for your video. I too learned, if I inject myself and it's room temperature, I feel absolutely no pain. But when I did it as soon as I pulled it from my fridge, omg did it sting. I'm still chicken, but getting better. Thank you. 💜

Okay leaving this here for anyone else in my position watching this video to try to convince themselves to do it! I just did it!!! It was NOTHING. Mine was a syringe in the thigh. It was SOOOOOOO nothing. And I'm REALLY sensitive. I closed my eyes and pushed and when I looked I hadn't even punctured the skin, and out of panic and wanting it to be over, I just pushed, and it went in, and I didn't feel it. And even the medicine stung a TINY bit but it was basically nothing. You can do this. I wouldn't do it at all until I got my earbuds and blasted hype music in my ears. It might help you! You got this. You're not alone. ❤ I know it's freaking terrifying. It took me soooooooooo long to do this but it was so much easier than my brain made it seem.

Thanks making this video, it was comforting to know that others have had a similar experience. I have been given a fourth self-injection for my migraines. I have never had a fear of needle but over the course of last year with a lot of blood work, a horrible spinal tap, followed by a horrific blood work experience that lasted more than and hour I find myself starting to panic. Unfortunately when I called my neurologist office to see if they could do the injection and the response from her nurse was very insensitive. But I continued to seek help and my PCP’s nurse is going to do give me the injection next week, they totally empathize with my fear. So if anyone else is a similar position consider contact ing your PCP they may be able to assist you. Also some insurance companies have nurses and programs that will assist you. I think every doctor should be required to show there patients how to administer medication be it a needle, self-injection, or a finger prick etc. No wonder why a lot of people stop taking their medication, because they’re are real barriers that need to be addressed? Be well and thanks for sharing!

I agree with every single word you said. It's nice to hear someone say things you're thinking, without judgement, who actually understand. I'm still terrified but at least you seem like years later you are in a better place. It makes me hopeful.

I'm so glad I googled you im sitting here crying looking at my ozempic box I've had it in my fridge for two weeks procrastinating 😢 and im not afraid of doctors sticking me with needles, but I've really psyched myself up looking at horror stories on the internet and I have to go to work in a few hours, and im afraid im going to vomit all day, which is what I fear more than injections

I just started on Ozempic and I would truthfully say thinking about it, worrying about the needle and the poke can drive anyone to drink :) But then you look at the needle and think well, that is about as big as what you use to poke your finger with and some of the fear goes away. Its not fun but you can do it - great videos by the way.

You are so sweet always helping others. I don't have to do that but I really want to donate blood because I keep seeing there's a shortage. But the few times I've had blood work done oh my God I could just throw up. 🤢 And it doesn't even hurt that bad it's just in my head. LOL I tell ya You and all the others that have to do this every day are strong!! See you in the next one my friend! 🤗

I've been told that I'm pre-diabetic. My doctor told me about ozempic which helps to loose weight. I'm kinda iffy about it and not sure of the risk, and side effects. So I picked up the ozempic prescription two weeks ago and it's just been sitting on the counter, waiting for me to use. I see that you have taken it and still posting up videos so I guess it didn't effect you much. 🙃

I think the video is very informative. However, I do hate when people say it’s just a small needle. It doesn’t matter the size of the needle it is the pain it causes going into your skin. I am trying to find a different way to take my blood sugar, because no matter what size needle I use it always hurts. I use the smallest Lancet possible and the lowest number on my lancing pen and it still hurts. The needles that come with the ozempic are wonderful. They don’t hurt at all. I have tried to get the same ones for my insulin pen but I can’t. I actually have a smaller needle for my insulin pump but for some reason it hurts when I do the injection, not every time, but with the ozempic needles, I can pretty much give the shot anywhere with the other ones. I have to be careful where I give it.
@TheHangryWoman
@TheHangryWoman Год назад
Have you tried a different lancing device for your fingersticks? Pip makes really good ones that draw enough blood, but are pretty small gauge, but also you don’t need a separate device to use them. I also like the genteel as another lancing device because you can control the depth of the lancet, which is where it can sometimes be more painful. With the 32g needles that Ozempic comes with (I believe), you’re able to control the speed and the depth, which I think is why it’s less painful overall. Hopefully those are some helpful solutions to look into! 💕

Year and half in I got over my fear then it came back later. The self harm thought freaks me out. It takes sometimes 20 mins plus just to get my shots done. The anxiety is ridiculous and I feel embarrassed because my son is 4 and I have to give him his 4-5 times a day and he takes it like a champ most times. I keep thinking to myself just be like him but the anxiety is crippling. It's refreshing to hear others struggle as well.

I am on saxenda which is the daily injection. I was about 3 weeks in and was getting really comfortable with injecting myself and then I had one which actually pinched for some reason. 2 days later I had the same pinch on the same side. Now I am anxious again wondering if it's going to be a painless stab or the pinch. All of these injections were in my stomach and I rotate sides every day. The pinch only happened on the same side. I'm guessing it's starting to get tender?

Late to the game here, but THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video. I'm injecting compounded Semaglutide via regular syringes. First one was tonight. I was almost in tears trying to psych myself up.
