I’m on Ozempic also, and I understand the heart palpitation issue. I got this advice from a friend, but it usually means I’m dehydrated or low on magnesium. Starting daily magnesium supplements have really helped the palpitations
I was dehydrated before I started Ozempic and it got worse, I am on diuretic blood pressure meds. I get palpitations when dehydrated too. So much better now!
I am ozempic for T2 diabetes and very lucky that here in the UK it is free on the NHS for diabetics. my HbAic is now normal and after nearly 2 years I am also down 50 lbs
@@samsungsaul978 I had a bit of juggling around to get me to feel ok on it. Taking it in the morning works best for me. I have been on it a few years now. Hope you adjust to it soon.
Well, this is a surprise! I can't believe you went back on it after the ordeal you went through the first time! So happy you're tolerating it much better -- that's really wonderful. I found your channel when I was first prescribed Ozempic. You helped me work up the nerve to do that scary first injection, which is such a non-event now. It has kept my A1c labs looking great over the past year. I haven't seen as much weight loss as I'd like, but my doctor just prescribed a higher dose. Fingers crossed that doesn't cause problems. Thanks for this update!
I am so happy to see this! You gave me the courage to do my first shot! 😂 I’m only on week two but my doctor started me on 0.5 and so far, zero symptoms! I’m really hopeful that this will improve my A1C and I would love to be able to get back to my normal weight! Thank you for being so helpful and honest on your channel. I’m so proud of you! ❤
Im so glad ur back i got scared once you went off but now ur back i just started my first injection 7/21/2023 im hopeing for positive results God bless everyone who is on this weight lost journey it isn't easy but we can fo it😊
❤ to HangryWoman! Scoured your vids B4 beginning Ozempic. Not diabetic, but Dr. said try this to break plateau. On 0.5 dose, I began to lose a lil. 3 mos. later, dose raised to 1.0. I was never hungry, had to force myself to eat. Lost 5 lbs, then 10 lbs., very small meals, ate clean. 2.5 mos. later, OMG😢😢😢😢 HORRIBLE naseau, vomiting everything, even water. Diarrhea, flu like symptoms, Dr said not flu, not COVID, Ozempic side effects. Impossible to continue due to deal breaking side effects. I did lose 15 lbs. over 3-4 mos. I'd do it again, despite terrible side effects at 1.0. Reinforced small portions, clean eating, drinking protein smoothies once a day. TY for explaining side effects B4 I began. Best wishes to you, lovely lady ❤, wish ugood health.
You are an amazing and positive woman and I thank you for sharing your experience. I’m a 75 year old type II diabetic with my A1C OF 6.4. I’ve been struggling with Ozempic since beginning 11 weeks ago. I’ve had all the symptoms, GI upsets, nausea vomiting, unable to eat, and fatigue beyond belief. I had trouble with high and low blood pressure so my doctor added 1.25 mg Altace. I also wore a halter monitor for 24 hours but don’t have the results since my doctor is away. I have no energy or motivation, perhaps because of the small amount I can eat. Just ordered a Magic Bullet to see if drinking a healthy smoothie will help. I was 213 lbs 11 weeks ago and i’m now 189, so 24 lbs. I want to stop feeling so crappy and be able to walk my dog again so am seriously considering stopping and not taking my next shot of .5. I’m on Vancouver Island in Canada and the doctor shortage here is critical so getting knowledgeable advice is pretty hard to find.
My Doctor is trying to get Ozempic approved for me right now. I’m T2 diabetic and obese. I’m researching this drug because, evidently I live under a rock and have never heard of it. I’m really hoping to get approved. Your RU-vid content is very informative thank you so much for posting and being real about it.
Hey there! Look at all the people you are helping 🤗 you are just doing amazing things so happy and proud for you. Glad you are doing better on your medicine this time. Have a great weekend Mila
I have type 2 diabetes. I have been taking Ozempic for about month and a half now and I have had nausea more often then not. It actually helps to know your nausea was bad too at first! So thank you so much for talking how you feel on Ozempic.
Thank you so very much for sharing this update. Im getting ready to move up in dosage & was very nervous about that. I got caught up in the shortage. Was without it for a month. Ultimately I just asked my doctor if he could write my prescription for 3 months, he was able to do two. I did experience heart palpitations, it didn't last long. I knew it had to be the Ozempic, it was the only new medication I was taking, also I wasn't drinking enough water, which is an issue waaay before Ozempic. Doing better now & was supposed to start the new dose yesterday (Sunday) & I didn't so I'm getting ready to do it today. Glad to see you are well 😊
My hairdresser took it and immediately went off due to the heart palpitations and I thought of you I was watching you back then. I'm really glad you're doing better & feeling great this time around.
I am T2 with Cushing syndrome ( high cortisol) yes don’t listen to the internet health police who know everything and are quite happy to tell you are doing everything wrong. We are all individuals with different health needs. Thank you for your content . 🐨💗
I would love to see a monthly update on the Ozempic. I have diabetes and the new Dr I'm seeing is wanting me to take it as I'm 241 pounds with high blood sugar. I'm scared though because of the side effects I've heard others experiencing. I'm glad to hear that you are able to go back on it without so many complications.
I've been on ozempic since February, and the only side effect I have is some constipation, and I burp quite a bit after eating, lol My a1c went down a whole number, but I haven't lost weight yet. I just started 2mg I've read that some people don't lose weight until they' ve been on 2mg for a while, so hopefully I will lose.
Just started last week. Your videos made it easier for me to try for the first time. I'm using it for weight loss. My Dr. Says my A1c is borderline, so im trying to improve those numbers.Just have a slight headache for a couple of days. I feel like i skip breakfast, not even hungry. That's a first for me! I'm excited to start this journey. I also started aqua yoga and aqua fit 4 times a week.
On Ozempic I had horrible gastro intestinal issues first time around at 1.0 dosage. So I stopped for 6 wks and now restarting on .25 dosage and nausea is less.. I will be going up to .5 dosage soon. Ozempic had my A1C at 6.0 and I lost 28 lbs, so I pray 🙏 I can stay on Ozempic this second time around.
Thank you so much for keeping us all informed!! I am about to start for my Type 2 and I'm trying to learn as much as I can, this video was very helpful!!
My brother has been Ozempic since January of this year. He is Type II Diabetic and so am I. Along with diet, he has lost 63 lbs. Some of it he lost on his own, but Ozempic made him have no appetite at all and he now on takes 2mg. of insulin. His A1C is 6.0 and he feels great. The nausea and diarrhea stopped in about 1 1/2 months. I am going to get on it if I can afford it. By eating keto, my A1C is 6.0, but I still have to take 25 mg. insulin in A.M. and 25 mg. at night. Would love to get off insulin as I gained 30 lbs. when put on it. Great Vid
Thank you for this comprehensive journey with this medication. My doctor recently recommended it to me and I’m debating on what I should do, but this made me feel better about trying. I just want to feel better.😊 thank you
I remember watching last year when you were starting it and I was starting by it now I’m in my 1st month of trying it again and it’s so cool to see that you are trying it again too I hope it helps us with our health
Mila you are looking really well and vibrant. I've got type 2 diabetes. I've just gone back on it. There's been a massive shortage in Australia with ozempic. It's awesome that your blood tests results are so good. I personally don't think we ate at our healthiest when we are overweight, I do believe that we can do things to be as healthy as we can at whatever our current weight is. I'm so happy for you that this time around your not getting palpitations.
I was just taken off Ozempic for heart palpitations & tachycardia also. 😩 It was working so well for me with my numbers going down and weight loss. My appetite certainly decreased. I didnt have any issues at all until i got to 1mg. At 1 mg my Dr stopped it.
I feel you so much girl. The sheer difference in doses is staggering, at least for me. 1.3 mg: Perfect. Losing weight. Very few side effects. I’m on top of the world. 1.7? Vomit volcano. My mouth contains a geyser and my butt is a super soaker.
I salute you for staying positive while taking care of yourself. I can't be easy living with the need to poke yourself so many times and knowing that this is for the long haul. Kuddos to you and we support you through your journey. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing your story! I was on Ozempic for 6 weeks. Around the 5th week I started having heart flutters/PVCs. It’s been a month since being off, but I’m still having them. The weirdest thing though, is that they are worse after I eat something, especially meat. I didn’t have nausea/vomiting either. So I wonder if it was the Ozempic or just digestive issues. Hmmm. The Ozempic did its job with keeping my blood sugar low. I pray to one day get back on it- you give me hope.
As a highly experienced physician in metabolic health who has binge eating disorder personally, I must say how impressed I am with and how much I appreciate your videos. No worries about the edits. Only makes you more real! And you explained LADA perfectly btw 👍🏽 Keep up the great work!
This means so much to me, thank you! I’ve tried my best to understand my diagnosis as well as I can so I could improve my own health outcomes. Hearing that I’m getting it right is such a positive affirmation for me!
It is crazy. Not only is every single person different and will have a different experience taking a given drug, even the same person can have a vastly different experience taking the same drug just 8 months later. Anything concerning your heart is so scary. I have atrial fib and I feel my heart skip and just feel funny sometimes. It is just terrible. I am glad you were able to have a better experience this time.
I truly appreciate you sharing your knowledge of Ozempic.I just started using Ozempic, and my glucose levels are at normal range. YAY ME! I was wondering how long did it take before you saw the results towards losing weight.
So wonderful to hear you are doing great. Thank you so much for your courage to be open and honest about your diabetes. I try myself to be supportive of my fellow diabetics. I have been on Ozempic for 2 years now. It took almost a year to get used to the side effects. I only have occasional nausea now. It has helped me lose and maintain the weight loss as well as getting my A1C into the normal range. I am diagnosed as type 2 but feel I will need medication for life. Love your videos. Thank you for all your support and information.
This gives me a little hope as I’m about to restart again! I was on wegovy and experienced similar symptoms to you, I stopped because the heart palpitations were scaring me. I’m restarting on ozempic this time and have been anxious about restarting
I just love your videos! I JUST literally started taking Ozempic this week and your videos have really helped answer a lot of my questions. Thank you! ❤
Very excited I stumbled on this today. I am so glad to know that I was not alone on this journey and my experiences with this meditation. I truly appreciate your thoughts and experiences and putting it out there to help others.❤❤
thank you so much for being so open about this! i just got my prescription but haven't taken it yet due to anxiety. i'm not diabetic, but i'm disabled in a lot of ways that makes weight loss difficult, and that worsen the more i gain weight. hearing you talk about it is really helpful, even though you had scary side effects in the past! just preparing for what to expect eases things for me. definitely subscribed, you are lovely!
Thank you for sharing this and hoping this works better for you thus 2nd time around! I have Type 2 diabetes for a few years now and also my 2nd time with Ozempic as well. Doing better this time since I've increased my protein intake with 2 shakes daily, that way I'm also not losing my hair! Lost 10 lbs since last November, my a1c is already great, I still have have lot of visceral belly fat, so, still have lots to lose. 💕🥰
Thank you for this video! Makes me feel better about this. I'm picking up my first Ozempic pen from the pharmacy today after my doc let me know my a1c jumped. I'm super nervous and you made me feel a bit better. Thank you!
@The Hangry Woman three days in and I'm nauseous as all heck, but administering the shot wasn't as bad as I thought. Again, you are awesome and thank you for this content!
This is refreshing for me,as i just started my 1st dose this pass thirs,i am fighting, type 2 diabetes, stage 4 non alcoholic fattey liver disease, as well as stage 2-3 fibrosis/cirrhosis, so my ozempic journey is all about reversing the diabetes, as well as much damage to my liver as possible, i have lost 30# since Nov,on my own ,any more weight loss will be a bonus😊
Hey girl I love this video and all the other content that you provide , I recently got prescribed ozempic because of my type 2 diabetes. IM so freaked out about taking it. In fact I was supposed to start it in January but still haven't and I know I do to make my sugars come down. But I can't I'm so afraid of the side affect like the major side effect , did this happen to you how did you get past that . Thanks for your knowledge ❤
Hi I have been on ozempic 0.25 for 2 months lost nothing , I decided to stop taking it this week as I have been getting tachycardia which has really scared me , saw cardiologist yesterday told to go back on it even if I get palpitations/ tachycardia hr said the weight had to come off and he said I will always get palpitations and not to worry about it … can I ask what kind of magnesium do people take along with ozempic to help this issue please .. I am in the UK and desperate to lose the weight before a heart attack or stroke gets me … it’s as if my metabolism had stopped working , I am calorie counting and sticking to high protein , and protein shakes. I will start on Monday thought I might just go straight in with 0.50 and not 0.25 any thoughts please gratefully received … love your channel thank you for all the advice 🙏 gayle x
I also stopped due to side effects, restarted after a couple of months, and have had a much easier time the second time around. But I'm taking it slower this time, staying on the lowest dose possible as long as it controls my glucose.
The manufacturer has a coupon that allows you pay $25 for a 3 month supply. Maybe going to a walk in pharmacy like CVS would help with the coupon issue. Good luck!
I started taking ozempic November 2021, I went from 280 pounds down to 240, I am at a plateau, ive stayed at 240 for probably a year but I haven't gained anything, I was prescribed ozempic for my pcos but now I am waiting for my endocrinologist to get back to me about switching medications to possibly wegovy or saxenda.
Ozempic can be a very real opportunity to take control of diet. Build muscle and exercise but most importantly, learn to eat clean and sugar free. Build the habits and use this blessing to make life long changes. People do gain weight back of they dont commit to reversing diseasem obviously this lady is in a different situation.
I ended up on anti anxiety meds last year for an unrelated reason (Divorce, had to sell my house, my mother died). It helped a lot with the anxiety I was feeling.
@@TheHangryWoman sad to sad but I’ve struggled with anxiety my entire life. Between heart rate getting to 190. Ended in Er. Could not sleep! I just couldn’t do it 😔
Just found your channel, because my doctor thought I would benefit from Wegovy. Which is just like Ozempic under a different name. I have been researching on RU-vid on side effects of these drugs. I have a long history of PCOS and autoimmune thyroid disease. PCOS cause me to have high blood sugars. Hello to another fellow Houstonian.
As far as heart palpitations go it could be not enough electrolytes. Make sure you are dedicated to drinking close to 8 glasses of water and get the necessary electrolytes. I drink a body armor sugar free everyday because I like that one but I imagine powerade or gatorade would be good, too.
I had heart palpitations and vomiting when I first started as well. I was eating too much food and food that was way too heavy. Oily food, high fat content foods like eggs. That all changed when I stopped eating those foods , now up to 1mg.
Thank you so much for the information! You gave me courage to get started. I’m on my first day, I’ll let you know how it goes😊 do symptoms start right away?
I just started Ozempic a week ago and I burp ALOT and I'm always nauseous. I don't do well with most diabetes medications so I'm not surprised. I'm taking it solely for my diabetes but I wouldn't be mad if I lost a few pounds.
Thank you for sharing your journey! I was prescribed this and I’m scared to take it…it’s just sitting in my fridge 😂. Did you experience the heart palpitations on the .25mg or was it only when you increased to .5?
I think the issue is blood pressure. If your blood pressure was elevated then the drug can push it into palpitations. But, after you lost weight your blood pressure have lowered significantly so that even if the drug caused a slight elevation it didn’t push it over the edge. I may try it again, but only after I loose more weight.
My Ozempic has been sitting in the fridge for two weeks now because I am scared of the side effects. Hahaha. I have a history of heart palpitation that leads to anxiety attack. Now I just read that Oxempic May cause hair loss. Omg.. seems like a nightmare. I don’t know whether I should take it or not.
Hi!! Over a year ago, I was on Ozempic for type 2 for about 6-7 months, I was doing great, then somehow I skipped one week, which then turned into weeks then months...I can't even explain why. My blood sugar never really got super high for a long time even after that, but I noticed it was getting back up there recently and so now I started again 2 weeks ago. I started at .25 and I've had mild side effects, but maybe a little more than the first time. Because of that, now I'm kinda scared to go up. The first time I stayed on .25 for 2 weeks, because that's what my Dr said to do, tomorrow is the injection day, not sure if I will go up, (I probably REALLY should make that appointment with the diabetes np...) How many weeks did you stay on .25? Will definitely be interested to see how you're doing. The first time around, your injection how to video was so helpful to me. Thanks for all you do!
I've been on Ozempic 1 year and just stopped due to SVT attacks, up to 210 Beats per minute/ visits to ER. The SVT seemed to happen when I tried to increase dosage to 0.5mg. The SVT also seemed to strike during bouts of dehydration. Considering a heart ablation surgery to prevent them so I can get back on Ozempic. Somewhere in the mix of Ozempic and dehydration my heart goes off the rails. I really need to get back on it to manage by type 2 diabetes. Let's see.
Thanks for the update . I am curious if a1c is good and you feel healthy why is it necessary to increase the dosing level???. Congrats on your health improvement btw. You look glowing with life.
I wanted Mounjaro but insurance won’t approve it till I try Ozempic first. So I am about to get my Ozempic and try it in the morning. I took Trulicity a year ago lost 30 pounds on my own and 10 pounds on Trulicity but was slower. I have Type 2 diabetes and PCOS so it’s hard to lose weight on PCOS and diabetes on top of that. My biggest concern is Constipation as I am on other meds like Percocets high blood pressure and Metformin I have Chronic Back pain and had two shoulder surgeries and need total knee replacement but trying to hold off on the knees if I can lose weight Like to lose 100 pounds
I took my first dose this morning. Struggling with weight loss alot. I dont have time to go to gymm that didnt help either. So for now im 4 hours in no sidefects no nautia im waiting for the feel full symptom to start!
My doctor started me on 1mg, I'm on my first week on ozempic and the first two days I was extremely nauseous then it went away. Zero appetite and cravings which great and have lost 7 lbs.
I'm now on ozempic, the highest rx. I never got nauseous but I think I feel full sooner, I think. I'm a binge eater and so gaging physical feeling of fullness is tricky....but we shall see if my a1c improves. Fingers crossed
I'm about to (re)start ozempic too. I'm nervous. I was severely sick and only could deal with three doses before giving in and quitting. Is there any suggestions on pregaming for the nausea? Have you used a prescription like zofran?
Zofran is REALLY helpful for that nausea. The best course for me was to titrate the medication with my doctor's supervision. I was on the lowest dose for three months before I increased to the next level. The first few weeks were absolutely miserable, but after that, it got better. Make sure to drink lots of water, focus on plant-based and non-greasy foods, and eat small, but frequent meals. All of those things help to curb the nausea and you'll have a better time on it. I also found that after stopping and restarting, I had way fewer side effects, and I almost thought it wasn't working because I felt really good on the second go-around. Hope this helps!
@@TheHangryWoman You helped me with that, too! I had my Ozempic for about 2 weeks before I worked up the courage to do the injection. Now I do it without a thought. Thanks so much!
I just took my 3 rd shot yesterday the 18th of March, I’m still kind of hungry and if I do overeat I don’t feel sick??? I’ve lost about 7 lbs. I’m at the 0.25 dose , I’m not sick feeling. I feel like I should have a lot less hunger , or do you think at 0.50 I’ll see more results? Also my blood sugar is not down much FBS is 129-130-119-129 not great!
Yes! I have a video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OO0j01mLNH8.html and yes! Still on Ozempic and thriving :). I'll post an update soon!
I was wondering. I know you said you are not here to lose weight just to help you on your levels. But have you lost weight at all? I really wanna try this but lot of new things make my body sick and I really don't like having symptoms
$7000 for insulin?!? Omgosh thats absolute robbery. Wtf. How are people supposed to afford that? That’s more than some people’s income. In Canada, it’s about $35 a vial.
Hi , my ? Is have u noticed any changes on ur face , like aging? I ask because I have heard about ozempic face . N I think am having that side effect on my face 😢am on 1mg .but am happy that is helping me with my diabetes. N as well weight loss I haven’t been am XL IN A LONG TIME so am happy about that .
@@TheHangryWoman thank u for getting back to me. Today I put 1mg n it do bother my face itching n swollen around my eyes but it do go away in a few days.
I was prescribed ozempic but with the shitty insurance I have through my job it costs $800 out of pocket. Needless to say I have not been able to purchase it. 😢
There are anecdotal (individual) cases of people reversing the damage caused by autoimmune LADA and recovering beta cell functionality with carnivore and coming off all insulin.
Keto is not carnivore and works just as well. Fasting really heals. But for some medication is a game changer and the beat option. Respect for people's choices
I like the concept, but determined it's not for me. It felt too restrive for me, and didn't provide the flexibility I would have liked. It definitely works, though!
Did the side effects end up coming back for you? I started taking Semaglutide about 2 months ago. I've LOST 52LBS!! It's AMAZING! BUUUUT... I have heart palpitations and I can't sleep bc I have non stop anxiety and racing heart! I HATE IT!! I don't know what to do! I went up quickly from .25mg to .5mg. On .25mg I felt NOTHING. No weight loss, no help. So after 2 weeks I went to .5mg and immediately started losing weight and having the heart palpitations and racing heart rate just out of the blue when I started .5mg. Even though I didn't have any weight loss with .25mg I didn't have any side effects. Maybe I should stay on the .25mg longer to HOPEFULLY have my body get used to it, then in a while try .5mg again and see if it goes away? I'm so torn and don't know what to do 🤦🏼♂️ I don't want to get off of it because I stopped for just 1 week and I gained 5lbs! So this week I went back to .5mg and uhg. Thanks for your feedback 🙏
Something similar happened to me - I got really awful heart palps on .5. I've since moved up to 1mg and 2mg and I'm doing much better. I did end up taking a 6 month break before restarting. After re-starting, the palpitations went away and I haven't had them since. I know the start of heart palps can be scary, and I'm sorry you're going through it. Hopefully, you can chat with your doctor to have a plan going, and you feel better soon.
Yes! SO FREAKY! Kept me up the past few nights 🌙 not sleeping. But I noticed after 5 days it went away. But I think that's just bc its not as strong now. So im going to go down again 😢 AT least I don't have heart palpitations on the lower dose. I can give myself .33mg instead of .5mg. So hopefully a month or so on .33mg and my body will get used to it (I PRAY!) Lord I pray... Bc this medicine is such a huge blessing I don't want to take a step-back in my weight journey as it's helped my A1-C so much! ❤😊
I experienced symptoms from SVT during my pregnancy and after I gave birth it stopped. I started taking Ozempic in May of 2022 and now those symptoms of SVT are a regular occurrence. I also have to take 25mg of metoprolol tartrate when needed, when I experience those symptoms and I can’t get it to stop naturally on its own. I’m still experiencing the symptoms of SVT even after I’ve stopped taking it. I don’t wanna try any more at this point. I used it for weight loss by the way.
