Some things I'd like to add. - The extra deck is a mess, 2 deep beyond are mandatory and although gymir is good, lancea, the new lv10 ice barrier synchro is so much superior, it is 2 floodgates plus a trishula. Gouglim is not good, same with sekka's light, the draw 2 sounds good in paper, but having boardbreakers in this meta is better, and any scenario where you make gouglim, having another askan in the deck or in rotation would be just as good, if you need to remove a monster by battle, just use DeepB - I have tried the normal summon package but it isnt that good, and the deck really needs more non tuner extenders, since paces/shif plus a lv4 = 2 deep beyonds+askaan/whale; most importantly under nibiru. - I use the bubblereef line, it draws, banishes and gives insane advantage during the opponent turn, it is the same combo (both Wfishes or a way to get to them) - I shifter is almost always a free win against certain decks, but i dont run it, i prefer boardbreakers (i loose the majority of my coin-tosses) - Ixeep, minairuka, silent angler are better than the new lv4 tuner 99% of the time, so either cut it or play it as a one of - Crossout is very useful, not only as protection but as an extender - Only 1 lifeless, 2 are bricky, same with the small ghoties, all of them at 1 but zep at 2 (3 if you use more than 1 lifeless; dump psiics and banish with zep for combo) kragen in the extra, remove, fishlamp, coral dragon, accel,and abyss, for lancea, trish and deepB backrow hate helps a lot :3 apart from those changes, this is a very good guide, and i hope more people get interested in this very fun deck. 7w7

I actually have to agree in part and disagree in others. You are absolutely correct: LAMP, CORAL and ACCEL can all go from the ED and I wouldn't blink an eye. Your replacements are are Bubble Reef (great pick) i experimented with and had success it helps making room for more fish and the draw on opponets turn are nice. A 2nd Deep beyond (Personally I only need and feel like 2 is too much) but that can be so not really an issue. Lancea - I feel like if we ran a small ice barrier package it is good an mabye I will experiement with that I haven't tried it so I will now experiment with it and REPORT BACK! Abyss Keeper is a MUST keep for me MANDATORY include. See the replay vs branded how his hidden effect to banish opponents monsters CAME in clutch. and also really good is the special summon ability on summon. Both utility effects come up so much and he helps clear the board to make room for more fish. Guoglim is also a 100% include now. The new combo with psiics is very good to have as an endboard AND the card CARRYS vs YUBEL currently. The effect to banish on MANDATORY attacks is very strong. Because of Yubel and the insade advantage Guoglim is a must have. Also the cards guoglim brings back MUST be banished so if you weren't able to get to snopios yet because they blocked some of the combo is clutch as well. I am personally NOT a fan of shifter as it does hurt them more than it hurts us but with the wrong hand it hurts us bad. We get alot of power from banishing from GY first and provides fuel for snoios. But Shifter is a GREAT card so if thats in your deck no issues and with the right build and certainly from the looks of your build that card can carry. Maybe i will have to revisit that card so certainly i should have mentioned and make a build where it can work. The reason why I am running alot of 2's and not 1 ofs is because of the Votis package you have to have a 2nd one in deck so the ratios are trying to be optimized there. Not really a fan of Ixeep if were not running the traps and the ghoti traps are whack compared to just generic traps we could run. minairuka also the negate is hard to get off - there is a hidden negate when you synchro off fishborg and that has come up more often and i think that is better imo. I can tell your knowledge in ghoti is very well placed even though i disagree with some of your comment I will PIN so it gets MAXIMUM exposure because I can tell it had DEEP THOUGHT (pun intended). Really well made guide. I always fw ghoti ever since they came out in the tcg cuz of their artwork. but i felt like they were missing some gas and the white aura engine does a really good job with that. It helps getting into your main combo while giving you free fish in the gy to banish and extend with for your ghoti monsters. Really underrated deck imo

I play burn too! Blind second variant. Nothing more satisfying than resolving a nice long chain that ends in *BOOM!* then the shattering of your opponent’s cards 😂😂
When you run them as a 3 of you have a 33% chance to open at least 1. They are basically the same as lifeless leafish but do a little extra .So its not that crazy - but some crazy things ARE when votis gets like a max C or something like that. Since everything is determinative its really comes down to decision making. 80% of the time lupine will choose Psccics to send to Banish but there are times where you might want to send a tuner, keaf or snopios. The most important thing with votis and lupine are the Ratios. Which is why i thought showing the decklist is more important. You want to have 85% success and ability to resolve with good targets. which is why i run so many fish with lupine and some many 2 ofs with Votis and run Sekkas light with both.
I played Ghoti when they first where released in MD and I couldn't put up a decent board with all the negates and stuff In your last replay you almost did the whole combo without Normal summoning which feels wild in Ghoti going first! I'm soooo back to playing Ghoti after this video
Yes! I too remember lifeless leafish - pass! Ghoti is def back and with alot more gas thanks to the white aura engine, keaf, psiics & fishborg making for more extenders and better banish targets.
Cool replay, the dude should have known you play the field banish and held monster negate, seems like a small missplay but it would have won them the duel.
Yes, what seems to happen in duels is often the pressure of time and just natural human nature of forgetfulness or just the rouge deck of ghoti adds confusion. Honestly its my opinion that a person with a rouge deck and makes minimal mistakes can go further than a person with a meta deck but makes much more mistakes. Hello. So after reviewing your profile on ghoti. I must say I am very impressed. I do play ghoti myself and some tech choices I have now learnt. Would you be doing an updated version of the deck when rage of the abyss comes out. I understand you are doing this off masterduel. I think you can break this deck. Very well presented. Thank you.
Yes, this deck is very close to being broken. I have seen people claim that it is currently "broken" but they add a bunch of garnets in the nimble angler engine with nimble sunfish and whatnot and requires a large amount of garnets. I am not a fan of that because it makes playing through turn 2 even harder and makes your turn 1 require more bricks as a tradoff for a stronger endboard which i favor consistancy over power.
@@JessePerezStrategyGaming I do feel that it’s very close to being broken as well. I am a big fan of consistency too. The gouglim card after reviewing your content is a definite must have. The recursion works around so many road blocks. Now I do run a silent wobby and an elemental lord where it rips your opponents hand. I am wondering what you think of future support.
@@liamscotting6926 is there a particular card your curious on my opinion? I haven't seen anything eye popping except the mermails that might help turbo out sea king colanth versions. And I honestly haven't done my testing yet for it so it can either be HUGE or still mediocre for the deck. The biggest problem I find ghoti has is being able to play 2nd so if we get better extenders or more +1s then that would be the dream.
@@JessePerezStrategyGaming going 2nd is quite rubbish for ghoti. I find it very difficult playing second that’s why I use the hand rip for it. Have you looked at the new charmer card. Possible extension. Card I looked at as well is the syncro card for ice barrier lvl10. Also I thought of a tech card when going 2nd. Fusion mud dragon. Super poly target. It’s a level 4 possible extension. Do you have a discord?

So I think it is probably a combination of the 2. After even more extensive play because the build is always evolving. I think a 40 card sekkas light votis build works best. But there is SO much to test - i am currently testing with them gishkis and that is not working out as hoped. Next there is some mermail link 2 and some mermails that are fish that could work they are next but alot of trial and error. Votis seems to be my favorite for now. And I still am looking for better going 2nd cards for ghoti. Having snopios and zep is the dream combo but that comes up rarely. Not a fan of the dolphin that specials itself and negates, nor ixeep, or some of the other level 4 fish but yeah come join the discord I would like to talk to you more about some potential strats! I am positive that the deck can do ok at a regional. And it "could" top but probably not win unless luck is insanely on my side. But that just means that the deck lacks enough consistency. However, when I math it out - the deck needs just like 1 or 2 more cards and could easily be a big threat with the right support. But who knows - there could be a potential tech card that everyone is missing and that's the point of these videos and that 1 card could break ghoti.

OK, this is really impressive. I thought the Branded player had you cooked for sure, but then - boom - bossmonster. Big 3? 3 lv10 Synchros. Maybe I should just play Ghoti. Most opponent's wouldn't know what this deck does.
As a die hard ghoti player, i am interested in the wolf, gold sarc, and the lvl 8 synchro that we forgot about. Keen to get testing and try out more psiics lines
yes also i have been testing Tidal Dragonruler out now too but i dont know how i feel about him. hes great with the nimble angler in deck but i hate running all the other nimble bricks so i think its a no from me. I'm still trying out more and more techs all the time.
Yeah that's why I reccommend you play 1 or the other. I talk about that and it is displayed. See the sample decklists lists at the end for how I play the diffrent variants.
Very clean gameplay on your end, though I'm pretty confident that last guy was playing the speedroid loaner, as you'd almost never: add Marble with Hound in hand; scale Marble; or activate piper effect for nothing. Assuming you still used Askaan and Keaf on the first Terrortop and specialed Carturbo, would you have used Deep Beyond to wipe if they summoned Rubberband Shooter? If they had played correctly, adding Takatomborg from Terrortop and sending Dendendaiko Duke with Hound, I think they could have won, getting to a second RBS and aiming for a 50/50 on second Hound sending Dupligate, or Yo-yo re summoning a red-eye die that would almost invariably be gotten from the Takatomborg.
It depends I also would check to see what cards are being left in attack position. White aura whale also catches some people by surprise and great vs links and has good recursion itself. Ghoti is such a reactive deck. I cannot say for sure if would have done this or that because even the smallest of details change what I would do.
Psiics is pronounced "seeks." There's no H to make it pronounced as "physics." Also coelacanth is pronounced "seal-o-canth" and not "co-el-a-canth." Pretty nice guide by the way. Always love seeing my favorite archetype getting some attention
the fact that you didn't even talk about shifter (strongest card in game) its pros and cons for a deck that lives off banishing massively devalues the video, also for the 60 card deck thrust is must for every deck that plays grass
Good suggestion but Shifter imo is not good in this deck. We actually need fish in GY and it turns off alot of our interactions. Turns off white sardine, snopios, and psiics will have to banish from hand and there's not enough cards in hand and your minus 1 because of shifter. The fuel in GY is the most important for ghoti. Its why The best ghoti decks do not run shifter wasn't even worth a mention. Sure there can maybe be a varient that can work under shifter but you have to signicantly alter the deck to feature and draw more level 2 tuners and that deck mathematically bricks much much more.
Question,. Do you or would you do a deck review for master duel decks or decks in general? Because I’d love to get insight from someone such as yourself on one of my decks. I think I’ve seen in in the ocg but no one plays this variant of Yubel atm with the princess/zealantis engine 😅
I believe the last game was played in the event. There is a achievement to g2nd in the event and it was the speedroid loaner. So sorry to tell you that but this didn’t show anything of meaning. The biggest problem with Ghoti is g2nd. Especially against Purrely and SE (Towers are hard to out and SE Apollusa is just deadly). So I personally would drop Maxx C and the handtraps for a board breaker approach. Mainly to beat SE (Super poly into Mudragon and Evenly with the support of Herald of the Abyss would be my go to)
That replay was in the event and was more to showcase a potential "endboard" that you can make with various different versions and how to make them in game. I put up 2 diffrent replays to show the ways to make different endboards. If you want the more competitive replays I can put more in my discord but I did add the crazy come from behind match vs branded to showcase what some masters games can look like and potential of ghoti in higher ranks but I didn't want to clog the video with anything more than was needed. All in all, You really have to minimize all mistakes and play perfectly and its easy to get confused in these big games. You are absolutely correct in that the problem with Ghoti is they do struggle most of the time to go 2nd which is why I like to fill my cards with maximum gas to push through 2 interruptions. I don't think I have been able to push through more than 2 interrupts but then going into typhoon after my failed push did end up winning me the game in another match. Maxx C has also won me games because they do either end their turn, baits an ash, or lets ghoti draw cards so i dont think i want to replace that anytime soon. yes! i have found some success with that card and there are times where you have alot of fish on board and just NEED to make room lol. Great card for that and then gets pretty strong too as your banishing fish. All in all great card, and can also go into zealantis option as well because its a L4.
if were playing bubble reef some cards to fill the gy would be good to experiment with too like Tidal Dragon Ruler, etc as we can mill some good cards that will want to be banished on opponets turn. I think Bubble Reef can certainly have a home in Ghoti Decks tho with the right builds.
lmao i think i got it from pokemon as a child. There is a pokemon called "Relicanth" and my friends and I always called it Ro-La-Canth cuz we were kids and didn't have a good vocab yet. That weird pronunciation STUCK with me. I'll just have to call him the "deep sea king" from now on so i dont butcher his name anymore! :D
Coelacanth is such an interesting card. It's can easily searched and bought out a number of ways now. However I have been burned in some matches when trying to turbo it out when I could have went with a much safer option. At the higher levels I've gotten punished a bit more for greedily going into it - So I took it out because that's 1 less brick if I open with it going 2nd. But realistically if this was tcg and I KNOW when I'm going 1st it would be a GREAT side deck card.

Ghotis cannocially supposed to be pronounced as "Fish". But I'll say "Goat Tee" so it's less confusing for those that do not know. At the same time, I chronically mispronounce alot of cards because sometimes I use subtitles and I try to say a common word so I can do a find and replace later. that's how I internalize it. For example I will pronounce "generaiders" as generators for easier editing later instead of "gene raiders" which idk what is the proper pronunciation. And other times It's just a straight up flub and generally in the heat of the moment mispronounce. Sometimes its ignorance, Like psiics I pronounce physics because that's how it actually looks like it should sound for me. So it realistically is a combination of intentional for subtitles, ignorance, or genuine mistakes.

I have a purrely deck but I feel like if you jam too much runick in it then it will ruin the white cats excavated searches to much - And you want consistency for both engines.
Master 3 was a STRUGGLE using Ghoti. I was litterally going W/L/W/L trying to use math/unsuspecting techs to sneak out any advantage I could get. The challenge made it fun though. And knowing all the interactions ghoti can do is imperative to success. Funny enough I think there were tougher opponents in M3 then M2 lol
Very true! Interesting math the bots need to get 51% win ratio and can play unlimited. Eventually they should reach M1 with that math. Unfortunately, I don't have that kind of time so every game has to count and we have to achieve a 60%+ ratio to climb with any meaning. And on top of that I did get a demotion from M3 to M4 during the climb which slowed it significantly - But thats ok because then I knew i need to make a change and make the build better. Then when I changed the build a bit by bit to try to make it better and make the builds better the climb became easier as I moved toward less "traditional" builds and to the decklists you see showcased.
