After I cut out sugar from my diet and had a protein/fat snack as my last meal of the day, I went from waking up totally terrified to just feeling anxious. What I've learned about anxiety is once your nervous system becomes highly sensitized, just removing some of the key causes like crashing sugar levels won't immediately cure you. It takes a long time to calm down the nervous system to feeling normal again. I'm on that journey now.

I wake up at 3 or 4am with crazy anxiety every morning, it's a bit hard to put that anxious energy into anything productive at that time, all I want is for it to go away and let me have a few more hours peaceful sleep 😐

You are awesome Shaan! I don't subscribe to FB but I've had anxiety now for over 40 years and I never knew what was wrong with me. I commented on a video you made a few years ago but just wanted to reiterate that at I've had all the tests, seen multiple specialists, have had MRI's, ultrasounds, gastroscopy, xrays, CT Scan and everything came out as normal. I saw your video about anxiety and eating and I knew as soon as I saw your video that this is what I had and I have been getting "better" for lack of a better word now for the last 2 weeks. It sounds silly, but you are right, once you know what you have it's half the battle and I'm finding that when I get up in the morning right away it start to feel better. I've been suffering from nausea every single morning now for a long time but in the last year it was very debilitating as I was throwing up in the morning about 2 to 3 times per week and I couldn't eat anything. I lost about 55 lbs. in 2 months and I honestly felt like I was dying. I really think that first video I saw of yours saved me. Thank you Shaan. I'm not there yet but at 65 I don't have alot of time left and I hope that for the next 20 years or so I can get a handle on this and start enjoying life again.

I commented on the other video about morning anxiety, but I think there are two possible ways the cortisol is impacting our anxiety in the morning. I actually did an adrenal test with my doc recently and discovered that my cortisol was lowest in the morning and spiked at midnight while I was sleeping, yikes! Basically my circadian rhythm was totally upside down. This caused me to feel physically terrible in the morning and sluggish which spiked my anxiety. My body was literally pumping adrenaline all day long. I think you still do all the same things in this video (get up and face the day, get some natural sun, etc.) for resetting the nervous system but thought I'd share this other way cortisol may be impacting you. My doc says it's due to prolonged fight or flight response so same reasons why ultimately!
@Tonydude182
@Tonydude182 Год назад
Hiii. Did it feel like you would wake up sluggish, then within 20-30 minutes you started feeling like you were basically on crack with adrenaline? I feel like I'm going through the same thing. I haven't been sleeping well after a panic attack a few weeks ago, vivid dreams, etc. and I'm curious why it feels like my body is randomly dumping adrenaline into my system.

My anxiety is extremely bad in the morning after my mom's suicide in 2019. Nausea, legs aches, feel like crying, bowel movements. I'm on Lorazepam & Gabapentin for this. Perhaps I should take the Lorazepam at night. I'm lost :(

Awesome information on anxiety and cortisol, but as far as overcoming the morning anxiety what was the final solution ? Just try to ignore and get moving and start your day ? Been trying that for years and sometimes almost 2 hours into my morning I still have bad anxiety

Whether it's morning anxiety, evening anxiety it's all the same. It's not a specific condition. It can be any situation where your mind is conditioned to create symptoms of anxiety because it has happened before under that situation. It's not anxiety itself. Anxiety is just another symptom of your own thinking. It's a learned response at an unconscious level. There is restaurant anxiety, before eating anxiety, after eating anxiety, waiting at a stop light anxiety. It's all a conditioned response. Look up Pavlov's dog. Been there done that. I went in and out of "anxiety" for 20 years until I figured it all out. I hate the word anxiety. The real problem is somatization, the process where your mind creates symptoms through a process of autosuggestion, anxiety is the end result.

I been this way every morning for at least 16 years and I think my testosterone med makes it worse in the mornings but without that med I’ll have a host of other problems too. Like weight gain then my wt gain will cause me to have BP & sugar issues. And without testosterone I get very depressed excessive tiredness and weak. 🤷 a but catch 22 I don’t know what to do about that situation.

One other thing too I take 175mcg of Synthroid every morning I think my thyroid medicine causes it to but I have to take that medication or again I’ll have a host of other problems. My thyroid levels are correct on that medication but I think my thyroid medicine adds to the problem somehow or another not sure how I. I am on the right dose of thyroid medicine according to my labs
