Stop morning anxiety using these tips and control your anxiety first thing.
Anxiety is worse on waking and in the morning, this is because of the Cortisol awakening response. This is a natural response meaning we have high cortisol first thing in the morning.
However, follow my tips in this video to take control, calm your anxiety in the morning and reduce your cortisol awakening response.

I lost my career job after decades of service. It's devastated me. I have Anxiety now... along with insomnia,.... and depression. After 2 hours sleep, I wake up in Panic., thinking of my life without my job, coworkers, friends, security, purpose, identity.... I'm hurting with these illnesses, ... and im alone in a dark place. 🙏

@beyondanxietymethod thank you so much for caring for me. Massive change for sure .. im not adapting well at all. My suffering now without my job/life... is torture. I'm not keeping in touch with friends, coworkers, ... as I'm suffering, and have only my sorrows, disappointments, regrets to talk about. Don't want anyone to see me, talk to me while I'm like this. I'm not my normal self anymore,... I'm always in distress, and afraid/insecure. Depression is the worst experience I've ever had. I'm struggling to just get up to brush teeth.... and maybe try an attempt to go out and walk. I called 988, ... was able to talk. They'll keep calling me, to check up on me. I am struggling with all this hard. T.Y. 🙏

@beyondanxietymethod Thank you so much for caring about me.! ... Im so upset I don't have my job anymore. I hate being retired. This depression/anxiety has taken my other activities and hobbies away from me. I no longer have desire... I've tried to do things I Know I like., but have to interest, or joy. This is horrible. Thank you for helping me.

For me it's a combination of anxiety and depression in the morning. I think that the day will be to hard to get through, especially on Monday.

They two can come hand in hand and often the depression can come about in reaction to anxiety. Did you manage to sign up for your free masterclass?

I have bad morning anxiety. I’d never thought about getting things ready to say before making it better. I will try that. Biggest thing I find helpful is to invite the anxiety in… I mentally throw the front door open first thing when I’m aware I’m awake, and say “come on in!” I used to wake up searching for signs I was anxious (tummy/chest/body aches). Emotionally and mentally welcoming it Helps sooo much. No caffeine too. It’s terrible for anxiety.

I found out that taking a cold shower when I wake up can be an effective mood changer. (You can start with warm and turn it to cold the last couple of minutes) It is and feels fucking painful but that "physical" pain for 1 or 2 minutes is nothing compared to that crippling sensation of anxiety that can go on throughout the whole day. Try it out once and see for yourself. All the best and stay strong guys

This has been me for almost 2 weeks. I deal with health anxiety and this morning anxiety came out of nowhere. The worse part is I’ve lost my appetite to eat. I’m worried it’s something like my gallbladder or some other organ but then again I think it’s my anxiety. It’s extremely hard to get out of bed when I’m lightheaded and nauseous too.. so getting up out of bed is extremely hard for me.😞

I lve been having terrible morning anxiety. I was convinced something else is going on as its more of a feeling that wakes me up with a woosh. Always had anxiety but never a feeling and irrational thoughts

Anxiety in the morning starts at night, well at least for me, for example I work Monday to Friday, Sunday nights I start thinking, I wonder if I have gas in my car, how’s the weather going to be durning my commute to work, as I work during traffic hours, how much work am I going to have, etc, and as soon as I wake up, even if I still have 2 plus hours of sleep left; my anxious mind will keep me up.

I plan on using your suggestions tomorrow morning of getting up as soon as I wake up, and having a pad and paper next to my bed to "dump" what is happening in my head...I know it may take several attempts but here we go!

I have been trying the meditation before bedtime but I am going to start getting my things laid out for the next day like you suggested. And I'm going to try to get up right away when I wake up all anxious with my heart pounding. You're so right that lying there doesn't help! I am wondering if trying to do some vigorous exercise right away might help me calm down? I'd like to try to do affirmations but I can't think of a single one that seems true. I will do the brain dump and I will avoid caffeine and sugar even though that is so hard for me. 😅 Thank you for this video. I appreciate it!

It's the feelings I wake up with that worrying me I could write them down but that would be all I could write down because these physical symptoms are the only things I'm worried about they are absolutely frightening and can't even explain them .

Hi Jackie. You might be surprised with the mins dump. The mind tends to run out of fuel when you write it down on paper. Sometimes it’s trying something and seeing how you get on

Going to try the mind dump....think that will help. I have some helpful affirmations, and I try not to 'listen in' until "2pm"! Every time I'm tempted to 'tune in' to negative thoughts, I remind myself...not till 2pm! 2pm has usually come and gone, and I'm calm, coping and there's nothing to 'worry on'. Thank you for your tips. I also have Benign Essential Tremors upon waking, and I think this is because of a 'cortisol dump'. 🤔

Delaying that caffeine dose until after I get to work, helped tremendously! Loved that idea …. re-assuring calming positive affirmations …… maybe written out on small cue cards by the bedside will be useful ….. I shall try it!

excellent content, thank you. I am amazed that you dont have a million subs. I had some luck with eliminating caffeine. Question: I was prescribed hydroxyzine by a dermatologist last year for a rash, and coincidentally I noticed I was no longer getting my usual 4am cortisol wake-up call and morning anxiety like I normally do. My doc said that it is a possibility that it interrupts my cortisol surge. Doc said I can continue to take it. I only take a small dose, much less than what was prescribed for my eczema. Is this known to be a treatment for morning anxiety?

Get up as soon as you awake rather than lay there??? I go to bed at 10 and wake at 2:30. What am I supposed to get up to? I have severe depression and lack of motivation as well as my crushing anxiety. It seems hopeless.

Hi Rob thanks for commenting first off. My advice would Aways be to get up and do something vs laying there and thinking. It is about finding one or two things which don’t over stimulate you but occupy your mind. Such as reading, try to avoid screens. It’s not an easy journey but all these things add together to make little changes 🙏

I woke up with a few panic attacks this last week. I started taking ashwaghanda which really helped, but now I am so calm that ai can hardly stay upright due to low blood pressure. Ironically the fear of fainting now gives me panic attacks. 😂

Hi there thanks for commenting. Sounds like you have found something great! So pleased for you. Anxiety will find its flavour of the month to focus on! I find that one of the things that makes the biggest difference when living beyond it is to change tactic when we initially feel the anxiety. So instead of tensing around it and trying to shift it, we loosen around it and make room for it. This started 8 years ago when I got divorced and lost my dad. I can't cope with going on my own and go into my mums room to see if she is still there. God forbid I dread the day she isnt

Your central nervous system is sensitized. You cannot control it. It's acceptance and not fighting the symptoms. Read Dr. Claire Weekes book! It you responding that fuels the anxiety. Let it be.

I totally agree. Acceptance and making room for emotions is such a fun do mental part of living a full life. I love teaching that aspect. It’s such a 180 on the way we usually think about anxiety! Thank you South for posting 🙏

Yes....does the sugar overload in conjunction with Cortisol contribute to the constant feeling of dizziness at all? Probably the most irritating and annoying feeling preventing any amout of intentional focus in any way, shape or form.

Hi there. Sorry I missed this. Yes cortisol and sugar both increase blood pressure to a degree and this can lead to dizziness. The problem is I am confused about being a teacher or a nurse. Teachers' work is tiring you have to be assured that the students understand well. But nursing for me is more interesting like I can spend the 12 hours of work easily. People said that school's work hour is more conveniant, but I am still confused.

Hi Tony. Thanks for commenting and hope you enjoyed the video. Coffee is a personal thing for the individual. My advice would be trial decaf for a week and see if you notice a difference but the other tips in the video need to be done alongside. I hope that makes sense?
