Intrusive thoughts are one of the scariest and most common symptoms of anxiety. These thoughts can be terrifying:
- wondering if the doctor missed something
- fearing that anxiety will never go away
- worrying that anxiety is something you'll have to live with forever
Intrusive thoughts can make you feel like you're losing control of your mind. To get rid of them you need to understand where they come from. Understanding intrusive thoughts also gives you better insight into how your mind works and how you can manage it.

What a great video Shaan. This is what put me in the mental ward at 18 for two weeks. I was getting to craziest, most heinous thoughts imaginable. I couldn't even sit in class. One day it was so bad I just walked to the library crying. My mom knew this was to me and raced to the school due to the principle calling. My mom thought I committed suicide. I went to the library and started reading on it. I couldn't find much. I was put in Paxil and they went away. In the 90's there was no info like this. What Shaan is doing is remarkeable. Bringing anxiety to the forefront. Explaining what our bodies are doing and how to respond by not responding. I wouldn't have been in the hospital if I knew this. Just knowing what Shaan tells you. You will never hit rock bottom. Understand the concepts but you gotta do the work! Thanks Shaan! 👏🤟♥

I've just started dealing with the intrusive thoughts and I didn't understand it. I latched on to the "what if i'm going crazy thought" and it made me spiral into the worst week of my life. I even pressured my therapist to test me for other mental health issues and all came back to negative. After watching your videos and help from my therapist I am better able to cope with these thoughts. I'm not anxiety free but I'm not scared of it anymore. If your dealing with this just tell yourself that it's all anxiety and it's not going to hurt you. Take it day by day and focus on the present and on the things that you love the most about life. Life is beautiful and we will get through this!!!

Sameeeeeee the intrusive thoughts keeps me spiraling, but other physical symptoms slowly goes away.

Me too, my physical symptoms went away except tinnitus at night, and very weird dreams I can't even explain them, but the intrusive thoughts are sticking around somehow

@@nickson8597 the intrusive thoughts, keeps me from fully recovering but because of Shaans video I am applying it and practicing day by day to put it in anxiety umbrella as well as other physical symptoms

Is nervous system sensitization the same as your bodies cells becoming cortisol resistant, just like insulin resistance, because your body is experiencing elevated cortisol all the time from stress?
